Many who don't study the history behind scripture are thinking Saul is condemning God's Holy Days in the book of Galatians chapter 4. He's not. He's warning the Galatians, who were Gentile converts to the faith, not to fall back into the holy day rites of their former pagan faith.
God said many things He ordained in the Old Testament are to be honored forever. God knows what He means when He says forever.
Yours is not heresy dear heart. It is diligent study not appreciated by we who do not commit to such. Stand in the light, you'll never fall even to threats.

I know articles that help educate as pertains to the meat of scripture aren't well received here however, those who do wish to study will likely take advantage of this opportunity. I've had this article in Favorites for years. Enjoy. :)
Does Paul Condemn Observing God's Holy Days?
Sometimes we'll hear in debates concerning the Feasts of God that they no longer apply because there is no temple and no high priest.

The Epistle to the Hebrews chapter 7
23 The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, 24 but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. 25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost[b] those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
26 For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. 27 He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself. 28 For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.

Question: "What day is the Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday? Do Christians have to observe the Sabbath day?"

Answer: It is often claimed that “God instituted the Sabbath in Eden” because of the connection between the Sabbath and creation in Exodus 20:11. Although God’s rest on the seventh day (Genesis 2:3) did foreshadow a future Sabbath law, there is no biblical record of the Sabbath before the children of Israel left the land of Egypt. Nowhere in Scripture is there any hint that Sabbath-keeping was practiced from Adam to Moses.

The Word of God makes it quite clear that Sabbath observance was a special sign between God and Israel: “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested” (Exodus 31:16–17).

In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12–14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day” (Deuteronomy 5:15).

God’s intent for giving the Sabbath to Israel was not that they would remember creation, but that they would remember their Egyptian slavery and the Lord’s deliverance. Note the requirements for Sabbath-keeping: A person placed under that Sabbath law could not leave his home on the Sabbath (Exodus 16:29), he could not build a fire (Exodus 35:3), and he could not cause anyone else to work (Deuteronomy 5:14). A person breaking the Sabbath law was to be put to death (Exodus 31:15; Numbers 15:32–35).

An examination of New Testament passages shows us four important points: 1) Whenever Christ appears in His resurrected form and the day is mentioned, it is always the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1, 9, 10; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1, 13, 15; John 20:19, 26). 2) The only times the Sabbath is mentioned from Acts through Revelation, the occasion is Jewish evangelism, and the setting is usually a synagogue (Acts chapters 13–18). Paul wrote, “To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews” (1 Corinthians 9:20). Paul did not go to the synagogue to fellowship with and edify the saints, but to convict and save the lost. 3) After Paul states, “From now on I will go to the Gentiles” (Acts 18:6), the Sabbath is never again mentioned. And 4) Instead of suggesting adherence to the Sabbath day, the remainder of the New Testament implies the opposite (including the one exception to point 3, above, found in Colossians 2:16).

Looking more closely at point 4 above will reveal that there is no obligation for the New Testament believer to keep the Sabbath, and will also show that the idea of a Sunday “Christian Sabbath” is also unscriptural. As discussed above, there is one time the Sabbath is mentioned after Paul began to focus on the Gentiles, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ” (Colossians 2:16–17). The Jewish Sabbath was abolished at the cross where Christ “canceled the written code, with its regulations” (Colossians 2:14).

This idea is repeated more than once in the New Testament: “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord” (Romans 14:5–6a). “But now that you know God — or rather are known by God — how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years” (Galatians 4:9–10).

But some claim that a mandate by Constantine in A.D. 321 “changed” the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. On what day did the early church meet for worship? Scripture never mentions any Sabbath (Saturday) gatherings by believers for fellowship or worship. However, there are clear passages that mention the first day of the week. For instance, Acts 20:7 states that “on the first day of the week we came together to break bread.” In 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul urges the Corinthian believers “on the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income.” Since Paul designates this offering as “service” in 2 Corinthians 9:12, this collection must have been linked with the Sunday worship service of the Christian assembly. Historically Sunday, not Saturday, was the normal meeting day for Christians in the church, and its practice dates back to the first century.

The Sabbath was given to Israel, not the church. The Sabbath is still Saturday, not Sunday, and has never been changed. But the Sabbath is part of the Old Testament Law, and Christians are free from the bondage of the Law (Galatians 4:1-26; Romans 6:14). Sabbath keeping is not required of the Christian—be it Saturday or Sunday. The first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord’s Day (Revelation 1:10) celebrates the New Creation, with Christ as our resurrected Head. We are not obligated to follow the Mosaic Sabbath—resting, but are now free to follow the risen Christ—serving. The Apostle Paul said that each individual Christian should decide whether to observe a Sabbath rest, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind” (Romans 14:5). We are to worship God every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday.

You are the only one I know of who doesn't accept, completely, the truth of scripture. Why are you judging and scolding for these things that everyone I know but you accepts? Besides fighting for the right to sin with no negative results!
I won't seek it out however, in fairness to 7, they did say they believe the Ten Commandments/Ten Words of God still hold. Though it would appear they do not believe the Sabbath day still holds.

The Sabbath was never changed to Sunday. Therefore, the Sabbath remains to fall from sundown Friday unto Sundown Saturday. I think you'll enjoy this video because this Pastor touches on all the arguments we've read in threads of this nature. When the Bible never says the Sabbath was changed to the first day of the week,is man entitled to change what God decreed as His day of rest. A day made for us?
The Catholic church changed the Sabbath day to Sunday. For all the animus for Catholic practice in the world, it would be contrary to that to then follow the RCC dictate of Sunday as Sabbath. (More in video)

What did Jesus say? The Book of Matthew chapter 5:19 So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

If the sabbath is still to be practiced then the killing of those who don’t practiced it still stands as well.
the man in the video even mentions it yet he will never stone anyone for not obeying it. his words are hot air. sounds all cushy but it’s mushy talk half baked reasoning. Did God abolished the stoning of people who don’t rest from labor on Saturday

The man in the video even mentions killing, stoning, those who don't practice Sabbath still stands ? Where?
Where in scripture of the New Testament would he have gotten such a notion? Do you have book, chapter and verse?

Was Jesus accused of breaking the Sabbath in scripture? What happened to Him?
What did Jesus do when the Magdalene was facing an angry crowd of men threatening to stone her for her sins?

he mentioned death for not obeying it near the beginning, I mentioned stoning don’t start twisting.

it’s clear in the Bible that if someone is found doing labor on the sabbath shall be stoned to death it’s part of obeying the sabbath.

nothing in scripture says the adulterous woman was Magdalene don’t know where that came from, sounds like made up theology.

You can avoid the stoning by resting in Jesus for he is Lord of the sabbath who allows His sheep to pick on the sabbath do labor.

The Lord instructed to stone anyone found not obeying the sabbath, The Pharisees had their own ideas of the law and openly they rejected Him yet privately they pondered for they wouldn’t stone him they took him to Pilate.

I did not twist anything. If you read my remarks you'll see that. You did not answer the question. Where does the man in the video near the beginning mention death or stoning for not obeying the Sabbath?
it’s clear in the Bible that if someone is found doing labor on the sabbath shall be stoned to death it’s part of obeying the sabbath.
And yet we're speaking of the Sabbath in the New Testament.

Very well then. The woman whom Jesus saved from being stoned to death. Do you know of her? And what Jesus said that saved her from that fate?

You can avoid the stoning by resting in Jesus for he is Lord of the sabbath who allows His sheep to pick on the sabbath do labor.
Show where stoning to death is still under the law of God in the New Testament.
Or did Jesus demonstrate in the New Testament how that was done away?

As to your word of warning, I would kindly reciprocate and say, you can avoid being called least in the Kingdom of God by not seeking to lead people from the law Jesus reiterated in His ministry.
The Book of Matthew chapter 5:19 "So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. "

If you love me, you will keep my commandments." (The Book of John chapter 14)

I am with Him actually since he states in the OT we should choose

I have noticed that people in error will throw out verses or post some cute sounding something to seem to be 'above it all'

and this while sending people to non Christian sites that are obviously where you received your instruction that a person is only saved if they obey the law

that is not what scripture teaches but you go ahead and try to follow the impossible

you will be the first person in the history of the world to be able to say you are your own savior

Hebrews 7:25 [b]That is, completely; or at all times

I would offer in a hope of adding .

Feasts of God as ceremonial as a outward show or sign to the world . . the working of a invisible God

Feasts of God as ceremonial shadows came to a end at the time of reformation. All but the ongoing ceremony that was performed when a new priest had a desire to become a member of the kingdom of priests had been fulfilled.

But one new ceremonial shadow of a wedding feast that will come on the last day. this is when the vail is lifted . The Sun and the noon no longer used . The unveiling of the glory of God and the lamb as the light. No more darkness forever more. (Revelation 21)

Under the old order of Kings. (a pagan foundation). Jewish woman were not allowed to participate during show time. A ceremonial representation of the glory unseen . A high wall separated them. And another high wall separated the gentiles . The new testament order to reflect the reformation elevated a woman and the gentiles to a place of great blessing. The new shadow as sign to the messengers of truth, angels is shown in 1 Corinthians 11..

It is two fold in effect. . in two ways. One way, to reveal a picture of the new bride and her husband Christ .

Man as a sign to the world is to not cover his head . He is used to represent the true head our Good Master not seen. His head or hair must not be covered . Man is a presentative glory of God not seen. The ceremony, a picture of mankind as one creation. Not like other beast of the field. Male and female he made them . .

While the woman must cover her hair . She is signified as the glory of man. Her hair must be covered or shaven off .It is used in a old testament ceremonial law used to represent unbelief.

She was not left without a glory of her own. Together as one man and woman they are used to represent the hidden glory of God. Either one that does not follow the law cancels out the whole show.

The veil or shadow will be lifted up and the promised wedding supper signified by bread and the blood of grapes will consummate the finished work of Christ.

From my experience . Things go astray the moment a person adds new meaning to a word it clearly can and does change the authors intent. . the sabbath is one. The word means rest with no other meaning added. Sabbath is not a time sensitive word .Not in respect to one day or ten thousand. the new testament paraphrasers changed the word rest and made it a time senititive word . The Young's Literal is one that did translate it as rest, and not. . "the first day of the week" . .destroying the meaning of the word . Using "week" to replace "rest" a few times in the new testament. From what I understand at the time period it was inspired the Greek had no word for week . It was 7 days

It means rest. The rest is reckoned from the 7th day God rested and in another the deliverance is reckoned from Egypt .

The rest we rest in according to Hebrew 4 is. Mixing faith the unseen eternal with the temporal literal things seen . The gospel . Therefore as long as today is today, under the Sun, hearing the voice of God as it works in us to both will and do his good pleasure we have entered His Sabbath, there resting, softening our hard hearts. His yoke is easy

Because it is a shadow it is used as a parable. . Hiding the gospel understanding. The Sabbath as a ceremonial law is used twice both times with different reasoning demonstrations, from different time periods .

Ceremonial laws are not used to define moral law. The two different renderings. I would think that would cause a person to at least look at why. Two different parables are given to us to gives the same witness .(rest ) ?

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.Exodus 20

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. Deuteronomy 5

I totally agree with that last part because Jesus said He would be in the earth for three days and three nights. Thinking He was crucified on Friday and resurrected on Sunday does not meet that timeline.
I will attempt to provide you with Biblical truth one more time and then it is your decision to drink muddy water or the clean living water of life. At least I know that when we meet Yeshua you will not be able to say to Him you didn’t know because nobody told you so. :)

Preparation for Pesach started on 10 Aviv/Nissan when the father of the household brought the lamb to the high priest for investigation. Yeshua came through the gates five days before His crucifixion to be scrutinised and investigated for any flaws. None could be found and he was the worthy Passover Lamb for our sins.

Day 1 (Pesach - was 3 days)
On the morning of 14 Aviv the feast started when the lamb was being prepared for slaughter. Roughly about that time our King was being prepared to be crucified. By 3 o’clock the lamb was slaughtered and had to be eaten in full by 6 o’clock that evening. Yeshua died on the cross by 3 o’clock and had to be in the grave by 6 o’clock because the following day was the Sabbath. None of lamb’s bones should be broken and we know none of Yeshua’s bones were broken.

On the same day Yeshua was being crucified history teach us that more or less 200 000 lambs were slaughtered on Pesach.

Day 2 (Feast of unleavened bread started)
The Feast of Unleavened bread started on 15 Aviv (Friday evening 6 o’clock) and is the Sabbath day. The feast is seven days long and Yeshua is our unleavened bread because He is without sin. Leaven is also a symbol for sin. Yeshua is our bread of life and was born in Bethlehem which consist of two words ‘Bet Lechem’ which means in Hebrew House of Bread.

Day 3 (First fruits)
First fruits started on 16 Aviv and Yeshua was our firstfruit of the harvest. On first fruits, Barley was waived before God so that the harvest would be accepted. Yeshua was our first fruit presented to Abba Father. This was the Sunday and the resurrection of our King.
Pentecost is then 50 days after first fruits and that is when our King went up into heaven.

The first four feasts was fulfilled during Yeshua’s first coming and the last three feasts will be fulfilled with His second coming.

God bless guys

This is actually interesting that you should try to convince a fellow Christian like a true atheist because this is their way of thinking. They often hammer me with these verses LOL.

You are right that if we don’t keep the Sabbath we should be put to death by Biblical standards, but Yeshua also said to the crowd that was gathered around the women that the one without sin should cast the first stone. I know I for one can’t cast that stone but maybe you can? The Bible also teach us not to judge one another by Biblical standards because we will be judged in a similar fashion.

We should keep the Sabbath because we are obedient and not to impress one another or fight amongst each other when we don’t do it.
