But the BIBLE dose not teach it . Read Ecc 9:5
Do you believe in the persistence and eternality of the human soul or no? Perhaps it had not been revealed to the writer of Ecclesiastes, but what do you think?
But the BIBLE dose not teach it . Read Ecc 9:5
HE got thrown over board, prays in the process of drowning, is delivered by being swallowed, suffers in the fish's belly, voices this in pray and compares it to numerous things symbolically, prays, is delivered and puked UP and does exactly what GOD told him to do.......
I have considered all aspects and Jonah did not die, GO TO HELL AND SUFFER, and then pray to be delivered and was delivered.....bro some things to consider:
Christ is THE sign of Jonah. He resurrects Himself, and He is THE Resurrection and the life. He is greater than someone whom God resurrected - like the boy Elijah stretched himself out over 3 times, and the man whose corpse touched Elisha's bones, and Lazarus after 4 days. the people He said the men of Ninevah would rise up and judge are the same people about whom He said, even if one were to rise from the dead being sent to them, they would not be persuaded to believe.
IMO Jonah dying and being resurrected in the belly of the fish doesn't raise any offense
Now that I would agree with......3 days inside a fish's guts, wow
one thing is inarguable: Jonah sure looked like he was back from the dead when he showed up at Ninevah!!

Then where was his soul?i don't think he went to hell, but i do think he went to the grave. i'm not caught up on the thread
Then where was his soul?
i don't think he went to hell, but i do think he went to the grave. i'm not caught up on the thread
Nor is it key to salvation. Just an interesting topic nonetheless.I am not going to fully commit or go dogmatic either way at this point either.
God give Solomon Knowledge That me and you don't have , If you can't see & believe what he says , You sour are not Going to believe ME , But I have learnt that I haft to received the hole BIBLE ,AND not JUST the parts that agree with what I believe. When the BIBLE don't agree with me somewhere ,Then I know that I'm looking at it wrong And haft to line my believes up with the BIBLE Not just part of it But the whole thing ..GOD bless as HE sees fitFor the living know that they will die,but the dead know nothing;they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. (Ecclesiastes 9:5) the living know that they will die - the dead do not know that they will die.
the dead have no further reward - do the living?
the name of the dead is forgotten - what about the name of the living?
God remembers the name of everyone whose name is written in the Lamb's book of life. He knows His sheep by name. these are the living, as He defines life: He defines eternal life as knowledge of Him ((John 17:3)). to the goats on the left, He says, He never knew them. are these not the dead as He defines life?
Samuel - does he have no further reward?
Samuel - is his name forgotten?
so is Samuel 'dead' by God's definition?
i know that human definition of death is only that of the flesh. when i read what Christ says, i do not think His definition of life and death is the same as the human definition.

tradition among the Jews is that it hovers near the body for 4 days ((i'm told)).
well i've certain i've heard 4 given as the term, but googling it now i'm seeing 3 or 7 -- there is definitely dispute among the rabbis about the length of time.
It don'tyes, i agree with that 100% -- so, 1 Samuel 28 says Samuel spoke to Saul. if i disagree that it's Samuel aren't i looking at it wrong? in the same way that Jesus says Lazarus is only sleeping, not dead, and that to God all are alive - if i think the true meaning of 'death' is the body having expired, i'm looking at it wrong.
BY the hole BIBLEIt don't
It says that Saul perceived that it was Samuel , This means that he thought it was , BUT he was wrong , Satan is good at deceiving us if we are preying & very careful on what we believe .Satan don't want us to know the truth , because it can set us free ,From His false doctrineings , By basing our believes on the whole BIBLE , HELPS us from being deceived , GOD bless as HE sees fit. Now What is the spirit that it is talking about HERE .Its the silver cord.
Ecclesiastes 12v6,7
Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed,
Or the golden bowl is broken,
Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain,
Or the wheel broken at the well.
7 Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,
And the spirit will return to God who gave it.
It says that Saul perceived that it was Samuel , This means that he thought it was , BUT he was wrong
Satan had the power to destroy Jobs children , with a storm , And is a powerful Angel . He knew that GOD was not with Saul , And knew what he was going do . God get the blame for a lot of things that HE don't DO . Satan is the prince of this world . And when GOD backs off , Satan has the power to do a lot more then we think . GOD bless as HE sees fit ,FOR all of us on HERE.If it was Satan as you suggest, how could he predict the future, that Saul and his sons would die the next day? Only God can do that. Read v16-19 again.
