Is the old testament obsolete?

The old testament & the new Testament DOSN'T Contradict each other , 2Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old GOD spake as they were moved by the HOLY GHOST . IF the BIBLE did CONTRADICT it's self we could NOT count on it . BUT IT DON'T CONTRADICT AT ALL .
IF the BIBLY dose contradict it's self to you , It's because you are looking at what it's saying wrong that is where the problem is. It's NOT WITH THE BIBLE .GOD be with you as HE sees fit .
 
The law condemns the lost and deems all the world guilty before God....and as a school master it takes us by the had and points us to Christ.....!!

Saying that I would make up scripture is a terrible thing to say about anyone!. The Holy Spirit is God, and was from the beginning. The Holy Spirit was with the prophets of old. It was poured out to all believers on the day we celebrate, it wasn't given to all believers before.

However could you read scripture and not know that Pentecost was on the same date of Shavuot, the Jewish festival celebrating the giving of the commandments? What you say about me tells the world you are ignorant of much scripture, not that I am a liar.

The hand writing of MOSES that was against us , was the law that was done away with . Not ten Commandment law .
Colossians2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us ,which was contrary to us , and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross; Some of these laws were like circumcision , 1 Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing , and uncircumcision is nothing , But the keeping of the commandments of GOD . What is inportant HERE, THE keeping of the commandments , BUT circumcision , was done away with , The ceremonal laws were done away with , The sacrifices were done away with , Why ??? , JESUS was our Last sacrifice , the feast Sabbaths , were done away with ,Why ??? they were a shadow of things to come , The BIBLE tells us about these in , Colossians 2:9-23 & Hebrews 9:7-15 , Ephesians 2:11- 16 , Before it can make since to us , we haft to see that there are more then the ten Commandment laws , We have the ceremonal the heath laws & the Ten commandment laws & other ones I have not talked about . GOD BLESS AS HE SEES FIT . When we can see this , WE can see why The BIBLE tells us all through it to keep the commandment .OR THEY keep them .

Just a reminder, Paul "stated" the law is our schoolmaster, not the entire OT.

Also, the OT is not a wonderful historical document only, it is the Word of God containing the story of Jesus, Yeshua, and the future of mankind in this age.

The Law shows us our sins , SO it's showing me where I'm sinning ; & if it's showing me where I am sinning . & I don't repent of those sins , That will make me a sinner , That means that I will be in the lake of fire with the LOST . for put them both in the same class . I praise GOD that HE give us the power to overcome all things , [That include sin also. GOD HELP YOU SEE THE TRUTH ,
I prey to GOD TO show me if I have any false doctrines to show ME .I think you should too . Revelation tells us to come out of her
my people , telling us to come out of all the false doctrine that go's out to the whole world . Most of the false doctrine came out of the catholic Church in the dark day .

I also find it relevant to point out that certain elements of the law were "furthered" such as adultery & murder and certain elements of law keeping were condemned (such as the methodology of the Pharisees).


I can tell you that when I was younger I tried to find a lot of ways around the "lust element" and were I to only have OT law I would consider myself "unclean" but not directly guilty of any sin, due to an almost Pharisaical interpretation. The gospels and then Paul's epistles have always been my schoolmaster in a certain sense at times, and when I feel "guiltless" or there is a very vague sin that I've been struggling with, the OT is like "additional instructions" on how it is and the consequences for such actions. Spiritual harlotry is one of the main ones. It wasn't until later in life, when I realized no one really had any answers to certain things that I started digging into the OT and a lot of it opened up, to find out later that yes people do, it is just considerably uncommon.

I believe in the sufficiency of propitiation absolutely, but there are consequences this side of life for certain things and sowing and reaping still applies (though the particulars I'm unclear on). I'm still figuring that out atm, though I do believe reasonable ground has been gained compared to my mid teens/mid 20s. Twas hard fought.

Yes but witch law , IT's was the ceremonial ,or the handwriting of Moses ,witch was in the side of the ark of the covenant ,& ,not on the inside of th ark like ten commandments was .

Jesus teaches the law is NOT destroyed, and any who teach against the leasst of the laws will be least in the Kingdom. Now, we all must learn by Yeshua's example and teaching just what laws are yet extant……….It is not difficult unless people listent to doctrines of man in place of His Truth.

I don't argue semantics. I kept what I said simple for a reason. The main reason is that I don't care to engage the nonsense that is this thread. No scripture is obsolete, one just needs to understand the purpose that the scripture serves. I am very much a biblical literalist;

To consider keeping it simple by replacing the teaching thhat the law is our schoolmaster etc...………..with the entire Old Testament being our schoolmaster is putting word in the Epistles that simply are not there.

No this is not simplification it is misrepresentation without remorse.

Then tell me which part of the old testament is not for our edification? Or education? Which means the same thing?

The word is "which". A witch is a practitioner of the Wiccan or Druidic religions.

It seems our lines are crossed. I have never begun to hint leave alone teach that the OT is anything but the Word of God for all to learn and be edified by.

"In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." (Hebrews9:22) We have to be cleansed with the Blood of Jesus. We are the Temple of God

Partly true, they weren't practicing medicine.
They were using narcotics to produce an ecstatic state for the purposes of divination, and they didn't always use drugs sometimes they would chant a mantra or use music, songs and dance and achieve this state through the whipping up their emotions. There are churches that claim to be Christian that practice this as well. They whip them selves up into a frenzy and indulge the flesh.
