Okay, so I think this is a great start for discussion.
In my example, Polly-Ann Princess is not the problem. It is the church that encourages her to find perfection in her new husband.
I will have to elaborate later. I have to get to my second job. If I don't make my child support payments on time, I could potentially lose my driver's license, forfeit my passport, have my wages garnished and ultimately be sent to jail-- all at gunpoint.
That's something to think about for all you young men who think you're grown up enough to risk getting your girlfriend pregnant.
They say that women look for men they can change and men look for women who never change.
Yeah that's the other part of the MGTOW speech. Women have stacked society against men, so the courts, the church, the neighbors, everybody and everything now takes the woman's side in any disagreement. So (they say) all women - and remember, all women are just the same - all women are free to take advantage of men and drain them dry with full backing from every societal construct in existence.
Mind you, I'm not saying you're an MGTOW candidate. I'm just mentioning this to point up the similarities between what you are saying and typical MGTOW rhetoric.
Mind you also, I am not saying a woman is not draining you for all she can get. The stereotype is not based on vacuum. There are some women out there like that. If you are going through something like what MGTOW fear, my sympathy. But you should know that people are going to read what you said and (quite naturally, you must admit) assume you are just another MGTOW ranting away.

Thank you for pointing this out and not placing the blame squarely on the individuals themselves (though of course, we all hold some degree of individual responsibility.)
Christians grow up hearing that God has a wonderful plan for them, wants them to prosper, and only wants to give them the best.
Unfortunately, we all seem to miss the part in how God's best is often carried out -- usually through pain, self-sacrifice, and suffering.
But baby Christians of all ages are told that God is a wonderful father, and what loving father wouldn't give His children the best? Somehow, our minds seem to translate this into "OUR" definition of "the best", which might be very different from God's.
I recently read a post here in which a male member said he had prayed to God for a wife who "didn't have fat arms" (among other characteristics) and that God had answered his prayer.
That's wonderful, but what happens in 40 years if her arms no longer meet his standards? Will he then look to replace her with a woman who has the thin arms he pines for?
For every time you've heard of a woman leaving her husband over money or to seek a "more Godly husband", women know of at least one situation in which a Godly man left a woman over looks and/or sex (sometimes covered up by the guise of seeking a "more Godly woman" as well.) It's a heck of a world we live in, huh?
I am truly sorry for all the stress you're going through. Kudos to you for doing all you can to support your child, and I will say a prayer that God will acknowledge all your hard work.

well, all I have come across in the past few years of meeting women is either narcissist, or aspirational thinkers, as per my post above. None of them bother to look at the person, or there values etc, they are only after what they can get out of this. So if your an introvert, eccentric, and poor, they will run a mile, or take what they can then run away.
I ain't gonna start that thread. I have been known to instigate things before, but it seems to me a stereotype thread could turn vicious in a heartbeat.

I once asked my friend what she looks for in a guy. Her requirements were very simple but actually stringent if you really think about. Her quick response was, someone not too dumb, not too ugly, not too poor.
My friend told me of a conversation she had with a youth pastor about his wishes in a girlfriend. The first things he mentioned were that he wanted someone with long hair, fit, a few other physical characteristics, then he mentioned other things like being nice, caring, etc.
I don't think it is really the case of women being out for money nowadays, as it was years ago. A lot of women are pretty self-sufficient and want someone who can pull his own weight, not someone who showers them with stuff. Guys are probably looking for the same.

Actually, it's not the money so much as the big institutional churches caving to societal pressure. They are subscribing to an ultra-feminist viewpoint that no man is capable or worthy of having a female companion for life. Also, these churches quit making disciples a long time ago, male and female. In my opinion, this has directly resulted in higher divorce rates. Neither party desires a lifelong commitment anymore, and it is the children who are suffering terribly for it.
Yes, our viewpoints are different, but remember, we serve the same God.
I think there is a misconception about my original post. Although money plays an important role, it is the cohesion of a man and woman bonded by their dedication to God that will keep them together for life. Unfortunately, our churches are failing miserably in this department.
Again, this is where the church is failing. We are no longer making disciples who are able to give up their rights to self-sovereignty, money or worldly possessions. It's no wonder since leadership is more interested in expanding the size of church buildings, rather than expanding the young worshipers' faith.
That is not necessarily a bad thing. Paul, addressing the church in Corinth, says:
I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband. I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord. 1 Cor. 7: 32-35
It sounds like you've been burned a few times also. The only remedy for that is to find a woman who is so devoted to Christ, she won't want to disappoint Him by leaving you.
hmm. I was thinking if this Dolly Ann Princess was Dolly Parton, she's be making the dough not the husband. Dont dolly ann princess brides get a lot of money for their looks anyhow? Why do they need a man anyways? They could just be modelling or doing beauty pageants and marry a pauper if they chose to.
i think its a bit of an outdated stereotype that the bride does nothing and relies on the husband to provide these days, so its not really realistic to say thats a millenial thing. Maybe in some parts of america that might be true where they still live like that. Most women actually work!
