I love the sound of distant train whistles in the morning, especially when reading Scripture and enjoying a good cup of coffee. 🚂 ☕️
really nice its already afternoon here i got home and im drinking coffee too. bro i want to confess to you privately here in the most popular thread that im also listening to a spanish song by two women and i really love the song. it was playing in my head so i have to listen to it but im not gay. just saying that its a good song, i dont even know spanish and i will refuse to look up what the lyrics mean its probably something really girly so i will stick to my guns and just listen to it to get it out of my system.

Its okay I really like really masculine lyrics on some songs and I am also sure I am okay on that front.

John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

lets start with this verse. lets restart the conversation at page 6115. this say that once you believe you have everlasting life, but not only that, you also wont be coming into judgment and have passed from death into life.

if anyone believes but then is coming to judgment and goes back to death how can this verse even be true?
Metaphor and meaning removes time out of the equation and puts the end of the road at its beginning.
I set off to climb a mountain and say, "Starting the journey in the knowledge you can complete it, brings the view of the top now."

As a way of encouraging people, saying support and guidance along the way will be provided, this is Gods gift to us with a repentant soul. He will deliver the good seed planted in good soil to eternal life. In His view, the elect who start all finish.

This is very different from seed planted in shallow soil with a hard heart. Sadly how these things work out is in the hands of both the believer and the Lord. I say sadly because few will find their way to the end.

Matt 7:14
small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Hypocrisy. It is easy to say "you evil believers you have got it all wrong" while failing oneself, and determining though it is simple to enter into heaven, most have found it impossible, and especially "you over there".

Jesus and His word sows to our souls and lives, to bring forth fruit of the Spirit. That is our sign we know Him.

1 John 3:14
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers.

so how can john 5:24 be true then? they didnt really "not come into judgment" in your view?

just seems like the NOSAS salvation plan really sucks hard. you are always just shaken to the core never knowing you are saved in constant anxiety and fear because its all based on your performance so once you sin you think oh no am i still saved and either you try harder next time or you just fall deeper into sin thinking i lost my salvation anyway.

i will keep my eternal security thanks much. i know from experience what works salvation is, no peace and i see so many christians around me in that same state miserable people.

i wish we would all read the bible the same way. its a big book so you can make the bible say whatever you want it to say really
The problem is with those who lose faith and no longer believe. John 5:24 is correct, but you are missing the words "and believes in the one who sent me."

Not possible to loose salvation.... scripture does not state such.

Next....

James is talking about the imperishable seed will always show itself, else it is dead.

James 2:20
You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?

Can we choose the fruit of the imperishable seed? No.

James 2:26
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

James 3:13
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

James calls these unbelievers to repentance and faith.

James 4:8-10
Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

So this letter is written to those who claim to know Jesus, some of whom do and some clearly do not.

James 5:19-20
My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back,
remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

The warning is some are lost sinners, who are in spiritual death and end in judgement.
Wrong
James us talking about people who claim to be saved yet had no living faith thus never were saved to begin with

Hey brother, you have to keep it real. Enjoy what you enjoy, it’s all good. One of my favorite songs is Abba, Dancing Queen. When I’m driving through town and that song comes on the radio I turn it up loudly (with the windows up) 🤫

Pardon me, but my last line was this
"The warning is some are lost sinners, who are in spiritual death and end in judgement."

Clearly you did not read what I wrote. That's fine, but we are in agreement, God bless you.

Yes you do, as well as mock the cross of Christ by belittling it
How is the cross being belittled?
And is this a personal comment or an observation on a theological view? I get confused over what is being intended, as of course the children of God would not be tearing each other down.

It might help by referring to the point that belittles Jesus, so it could be honestly answered.

I never made it to the end because the beginning was wrong

And no. We do not agree because of that

Not all classical music is sad.... Tchaikovsky and the 1812 Overture comes to mind.

He states in his belief the cross is not enough
that belittles the cross period
