Is salvation irrevocable? Yes or no.
Rom 11:29
For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.

Difficult to understand words. Life is a gift, but we die.
So Gods gift of life individually is not irrevocable, but the giving of life to mankind is irrevocable.

Salvation is the gift given to Gods people, a free gift, but individually one can leave the people of God.
So equally God promised to Israel salvation, but individually they lived in unbelief and were judged and rejected.

Salvation to Gods people is irrevocable, but we can revoke our belonging to Gods people.
Clearly the seed falling on the rock, blossoms and partakes in the people of God, later to die and disappear.

This happens time and again in fellowships around the world.
So salvation is not revocable to the people of God, but is revocable by the individual believer.

So there is no yes or no answer, and never will be.
If it was otherwise, Israel are all saved, when clearly they are not.

Keep laughing pal....cause you know Jack ....Hahahaha

right @dcontroversal

I am just gonna have fun this mornin and not let these jokers get me down!;)
You remind me of our foundations.
In Christ we have a poor spirit, because sin is so sad and the world is so dark and lost.

Knowing Him is our foundation, the eternal hope and grace that will never end, Amen.

We have a new covenant... read Hebrews.

that being said..,,,those in the old testament that were saved by faith were saved and stayed saved.

Yes and that foundation is secure and the gift He offers once received is secure.
The word is saved.

Matt 25:1-12
"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Five of them were foolish and five were wise.
The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.
The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.
The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'
"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.
The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'
"'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'
"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!'
"But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.'

This is how God is, "I don't know you"

Is this what you are calling fickle?
The problem is some are so addicted to security, they will sacrifice any other consideration on this altar of safety, not knowing this very sense of entitlement destroys their future reality with Christ.
Well the foolish ones never had oil to begin with.
So what does that tell you?

Yup I am addicted to eternal security because it I trust God's word and His promises!!
Amen

If you are alive you can also die. The term eternal is a time frame.
Does satan have eternal life? He will be alive eternally, though he will be tortured eternally.

So eternal life can be withdrawn, the blessing presence of the Lord, the name removed from the book of life.
Or more precisely, the status one thought one had could actually be self deception.

What do the weeds the enemy plants in the church feel? That they are saved or lost?
A promise given by Jesus is to the elect, but only He knows eternally who are His.

So many assume they understand Jesus, while ignoring the difficult side of His words.
Feeling good is a common aim of everyone, but scripture cuts through like a knife.
eternal life doesnt mean just existing forever. its also knowing God and who He has sent

John 17:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

In the name of Jesus.
why are you such a worldly person that you enjoy weightlifting and finances? be careful that you dont lose your salvation. Jesus wasnt lifting weights or busy with finances, He was too busy doing the Father's will and being about His business. arent you supposed to follow Jesus instead of your own interest? too bad you are still stuck in the flesh and not focusing on Jesus. unsaved i would say.

this is how you guys talk to us ^
this is how i can give it back to you hypocrite. its easy to point fingers.

Gifts and "Calling" of God are irrevocable!

Didn't see anything concerning "salvation" though!

Am not so sure concerning the gifts! Mebbe I'm using them, not even realizing I am!

Although, via all the mocking and scoffing, not to mention "the flattery's?" so freely given out?

I must be doing something right! :)

The "Calling" of God?" I can certainly ATTEST to!

Over a period spanning some 15-20 years?

"Are you ready yet?" 3 er 4 times!

And, am certain, had I not answered "Yeah?" "I'm ready now?"

The "Calling of God" would not have stopped!

At least not while I was still "sucking air", so to speak. ;)

I can't figure out how it is "salvation" get so intertwined with the "gifts and Calling" though.

Prolly had to, upon the injecting of ALWAYS in the promoting OSAS Eternal Security superstition, eh?

I am addicted to Jesus and the power in Gods heart that took Him to be with us.
It makes my knees bow and my heart break whenever I come to see this.
I trust He will found me worthy of His great gift, bearing the fruit He desires to see, but I do not presume.

In the parable of the talents, the master says "Good and faithful servant."
Good is not evil, faithful is honouring the masters property and wishes.

Saved is a present reality for the "born from above" believer.

That is why the present tense for saved sometimes used in scripture .. to demonstrate it is not a future hope but a present reality.

The sad reality the apostles faced was believers who tasted the presence of the Holy Spirit and His work, and still walked away.
They were unsure how to class these individuals, saved yet lost, knowing the Kingdom and walking in it, yet rebelling and gone into darkness.

Heb 10:26-27
If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
but only a fearful expectation of judgement and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Yer such a "flatterer!"

Yer trying to make me blush aren't you?

For the record though?

Flatterers, won't enter the Kingdom of Heaven either!

Jez sayin'!
The truth is you’re flattering yourself by thinking I was trying to flatter you. Now heed what you just wrote about flatterers not entering the kingdom of heaven.

Read that verse in context... it is a reference to the old covenant.

By stating that no sacrifice for sin is left in Hebrews 10:26, the author of Hebrews is making a very similar point to that made in Hebrews 6, namely, that the Hebrew Christians came to recognize that the Levitical sacrificial system did not grant them eternal life or forgiveness of sins. This came only through Jesus.
