In the UK I have become disillusioned about the quality of news reporting. There is alot of needless padding, and opinion driven news rather than facts. Crucially what is left out of the news can be as important as what the editor chooses to include.
The BBC was interviewing a man who was on an anti brexit march, last year. He had his two children with him holding placards. The reporter asked him, " So what are your children doing here? " He replied that they had helped make and nail the placards together. She then replied with another question, "Don't you think they are concerned about their future?" I was flabbergasted at such blatant bias and leading him to answer in the "proper" way. This sort of thing happens all the time. I no longer trust the news on important issues.

You can trawl just fine with most mainstream media, red herrings, eels, and sharks must be extricated to ensure a useful catch however.

Draw from many different sources. Listening to constant opinion pieces where the same things are repeated incessantly is quite taxing...so maybe once a month I'll listen to the BBC on the radio and a few times for certain hosts that don't do a lot of infomercials on other stations.


Late night radio has more fact based hosts in my experience, Brian Kilmeade I stumbled upon and appreciated how informative he was with a stated "outline" of the show up front. Other than red eye radio and Dana loesch I haven't heard too many other late night hosts, except when traveling.

There are some good independent Christian new sources that are worth tuning into as well. Not that I'm against sermons or anything, but straight facts rapid fire is what I'm looking for without internet trawling (obviously can be fact checked to an extent). There is actually a lot going on, and those weekly broadcasts are quite informative.

I have not trusted the main stream media for like 30 years.. Most of them are not true journalists seeking information and giving the information they find.. Most of them are activists pushing an agenda and serving the owners of their media organization..

All you need to us understand the political interests of the organizations owners / controllers and you then know what way they are going to portray any given issue..

Well for me there are a handful that no one can not trust. For me it would be foolish to do so with out hearing that story then search it out. To hear both sides when there seems to be one. I live in the south of the u.s.a. ( state of Ga.) most of the record high temps were set in the 1930's , long before " man made " climate change began.
