The dial of Ahaz

I've thought about this off and on for quite awhile.

I've wondered at the disruption of nature that would happen when the magnetic field of the earth is stopped and then reversed and then started again. As well as Coriolis effect stopping, reversing and then starting again.

I don't know what the magnitude of this disruption would be, but I imagine it would be quite significant.


Then I wondered if it wasn't maybe something easier and more simple to explain. What if Earth back then didn't have a wobble to its spin? What if this was the day that the wobble began? If the point on Earth where the dial of Ahaz was went farther away or closer to the sun would it appear as if the sun went backward in its progression?

I don't really know the answers to ANY of these questions but I think about them.

I've actually heard this passage used to help prove a flat earth. The sun, not the earth, was turned back. How could this be if the sun is stationary?

With no disrespect to anyone, the Coriolis effect and that French guy with the pendulum show that the Earth definitely rotates.

That would be interesting the magnitude, oceans would have been effected and the climate. there was a study on what the earth would look like if it rotated backwards. It seems a whole lot would be needed to adjust to merely move a shadow. I think it’s highly unlikely that much adjustment/suspension to move a single shadow when just moving the shadow seems the simplest solution without effecting anything but the shadow.

I did like the wobble earth analogy or vertical to a tilted state, though even large asteroid impacts on the whole earth isn’t much of a deal for the earth to absorb, but the environment takes much of the brunt of impact, even the slightest of changes in the environment of earth have vast implications, some are noticeable and some not so noticeable.
