dude it's your party

you sent out the invites so to speak, so it's your rules here

we don't have to agree, but don't challenge people to prove what you believe

the way it works, is YOU have to provide the proof ;)

actually, it does say we cannot know the hour

you just don't think so
It says that they do (present tense - it is actually int the Perfect tense) not know. Not that they cannot know.

I can see what you're getting at, but I do not believe that "32ad" (Pentecost) was when they would first have access to that [particular piece of] "further information" [the Subject of Matt24:36/Mk13:32] (though surely [I AGREE] it requires the Spirit to illumine our minds to the truth)… See my Post #53 to see what I mean... where I point out that it was some 60 yrs later (95ad or thereabouts) that Jesus provided the "further information" on THIS Subject (the Subject being covered in Matt24:36/Mk13:32): https://christianchat.com/threads/c...and-time-of-christ-return.189557/post-4126202 … to where, when He spoke it, this was true (that "no man KNOWS [PERFECT indicative]" not even Jesus, only God the Father... but then the progressive revelation thing kicks in, and I believe this is referring to "what they were given to RECORD" in Scripture [like we see also in 1Cor2:7,10,12,13,16b which I believe is speaking of that which Jesus had said "the Spirit" will guide them into all the truth and I believe they thus recorded it for "us"], if you see what I mean. IOW, on Pentecost, there was no one around who could have disclosed the "when" of things [though the Spirit indeed came then--the text doesn't state that that particular point in time (Pentecost) is when they would suddenly "know" it all, if that makes sense.] The "further information" (on that Subject) wasn't supplied until 95ad, see. ;) OTHER "further information" was supplied BEFORE 95ad (ppl tend to ignore that part tho, LOL!)
I'm not saying that Act1 is showing that the disciples would know at Pentecost but that they couldn't know until Pentecost since they didn't have the Spirit. But for one to know they would need to have the Spirit of God to have it revealed unto them.

You see the pattern is set in the Old Testament. Moses was a type of Christ in the first coming whereas Joshua is a type of the 2nd Coming.

Why was Moses in the Wilderness for 40 years? - Because the congregation of Israel was being purged. Here is the IMPORTANT PART:

There is a Purging also of the New Testament Church - Judgement begins at the house of God and it would continue for 40 Jubilees.

...so fairly aligns with "after TWO DAYS" and "in the THIRD DAY" (re: Israel aspect; which follows "the Church which is His body" aspect)… [Hos5:15-6:3 and related passages]

40 Jubilees would be 40 * 49 years = 1960 years. So the time allotted to the purging would be at least 40 Jubilees or 1960 years.

Just because many are wrong about the times and hours, etc.. doesn't mean that it can't be known.
Sure it does. And if you believe what you have posted, why don't you just set a date, and after it fails blame Climate Change?

I don't know what oyster believes, but I believe it provided an exact timeline "UNTO the Messiah the prince" (which precise timeline was concluded on the very day that He DID the Zech9:9 thing and SAID the Lk19:41-44 thing [mentioned in the OP] (both re: "the city," which was an aspect of that specific "time-prophecy" provided in Daniel).

So that DID have to do with His [first] coming [unto Jerusalem/the city] (tho doesn't speak to His birth--but then, doesn't it make you wonder how the magi knew about "[we have seen] his star in the east and are come to worship him"... what made them venture such a trek, do you think? Random luck?? lol... Weren't they [the magi] a people whose history was associated with Daniel back in his time??)

[ps the final "WEEK [7-yrs]" is also factored in such a "precise" way, as I see it, just as the first 69 Wks were]

ok so you don't know

then you have something to do after all! :geek:

If we hadn't shoved the feasts out of our life saying they are like fleshly circumcision that is not a valid command today, we would have so much of God's wisdom. Those feasts are a way of worship that God said was for all generations and they celebrate God's plan of salvation for us. Each feast celebrates one step God gives us for our salvation and the happenings for each that has passed was on the day of the celebration.

The feasts of booths is the last feast celebrating the return of Christ that will happen. It is celebrated at harvest time so we can know that Christ will return at that time of the year, just not the time of day or the year.

But it is MEAT and most here may not be ready for it. I'll see if I can delete that thread.
It's the rancid meat of a false prophet sent a strong delusion to believe a lie.

For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. “Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.
Matthew 24:44‭-‬46 NASB

Repent of your false teaching and adhere to the true Gospel.

Verse 44 starts out with the word, "Therefore/because of this/for this reason" (referring back to what had just been said in:

"43 and this know, that if the master of the house had known in what watch [i.e. watch of the night] the thief doth come, he had watched, and not suffered his house to be broken through"

[or]

"43 And know this, that if the master of the house had known in what time of night the thief comes, he would have watched and not have allowed his house to be broken into."

[note to the readers: this context is speaking to the time of His Second Coming to the earth (not our Rapture); the tribulation period is also (known as) the "IN THE NIGHT"/"DARK/DARKNESS" time period (involving the "NIGHT WATCHES") which time period is that which leads UP TO that point in time (His "RETURN" to the earth) Rev19]

uh huh

so if someone disagrees with you they are baloney and not meat? ;)

I guess I am full of baloney then o_O

only a mod can delete it but I don't think they will...but they might

many people come in here and try to state they alone have the 'real' truth

which would mean the Holy Spirit is very confused because we have many different truths, yet Jesus states He is truth and there is therefore but one truth
