And you will stay that way as long as you, with God's help, keep believing. :)
Translation >>>> salvation not based on grace through one act of faith alone, but God's half heartened support as long as you stay dedicated to the cause over a lifetime to prove one's worth so that one can boast "Lord, Lord look what I did"

Context - sinners called to repentance, to be washed clean by the baptism of John.
Failure to respond is to be cut down and destroyed in the fire.

We preach Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit and new birth through repentance and faith.
Failure to respond is to thrown into the lake of fire.

Seems the context is identical, though Jesus brings much more to the table.
WASHED clean by baptism of JOHN AHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

Eleventh hour, simple question. If you, next week, stop believing in Jesus, and no longer believe that your sins can be washed away by his shed blood, will you still be saved? Y/N ?

My stopping to believe the objective reality of my salvation...... does not equate to it not being true... what did I believe, I believed on and trusted Jesus for eternal life, He gave that GIFT to me.
It is a done deal... He has made that very clear in His word.. eternal life, justified and sealed.

It is now an eternal objective reality, a tree will be a tree whether I believe it is a tree or not.
It is a simple concept really.
You are so hung up on merit salvation you cannot understand simple truth.

Sickening indeed.. God knows where I even find the strength to read what they write some days.
Frustrating they think they have taken some moral high ground, all about their effort, at the expense of the suffering of Jesus.

The real question is will since you rely on your continued belief... as though it creates and maintains reality, how much belief does it take to create and maintain this reality?

That requires a number.
My answer is one.

Can I ask then, do you believe now? Or only at some time in the past when you converted?

Your answer is zero. That's what it now takes. According to your dogma. A dogma that cannot save.

You could be, according to your dogma, right now, a practicing witch or satan worshipper. And you, according to your dogma, still be saved, because you converted at some point in history.

How do we know that you haven't already given up on Christ (but still believe you are saved)? Your dogma would allow it.

but it says Jesus is also finisher of faith not just author. so you end up in faith too. if you stop belief then it would mean Jesus never finished the faith He lost you the faith is gone.

Back to the topic of the thread...how much babbling to deny this scripture below....

James 2
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

I believed then and was saved and continue to believe which is my walk of faith not salvation.
One would really have to be irrational to deny objective reality.

But, you don't have to. And you will still be saved, according to your dogma.

why did you neighbor and chris like my comment when you dont even believe Jesus finishes the faith? you got to finish it yourself.

i like it. i dont agree with you or eleventhhour on this. you guys are saying no its your faith. eleventhhour is saying Jesus wont really finish it because someone saved can become an unbeleiver and still be saved

why?

to me author means begins it and finisher means ends it so that means no saved person can become unsaved. and to be saved you need to believe. so thats why you cant become unbeliever. God will keep you

Because your comment PROVES that continual faith is a requirement. There is a beginning (Author) and a completion (Finisher). And it is simply scripture.

Why do you hold Jesus to the second part, but feel no obligation to the first part (your part)? If you feel no obligation to your part, then don't expect anything from the second part.

Hebrews 12
12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Romans 13
11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
