I don't know if a Mod did remove something you posted, however, interjecting Yogi and speaking of the Trinity is not a common thing Christians do. Just saying.
You must of not read the disclaimer. Or have never used a world example to connect to a deeper truth just as Paul did when debating the Greek philosophers.

Also I do not claim to be a common Christian. The common Christian needs to become uncommon. The common Christian is the majority we see in church. The common was what Martin Luther spoke against. The common is part of what is largely wrong with our cultures and the failures of the capital C Churches. The common is what keeps us divided.

To Rough Soul 19,

I understand you. You are trying to find meeting points with people who are not in our little circle.

The Church exploded starting on the day of Pentecost because the Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to speak to people of other nations, other cultures, other traditions, and even other languages and make connections. I do not see you compromising the faith.

There are some people who want to climb into a tiny little box and fight anyone who appears to threaten their walls. They think they are being holy but their addiction to accusation comes from The Accuser. In Hebrew Satan means The Accuser. By their behavior they show who their father is. There are too many parasites who live on web sites finding fault with anyone they can. Don't let them diminish you.

It is unfortunate because it would be nice if we had the convenience to just debate and iron out all the doctrines but today in our cultures we are facing a greater evil that threatens all associated to Christianity.

We cannot fight evil if we are divided and conquered by evil within the church. If the churches have become corrupt then we must separate. Religious freedom and right to conscience is a God given right. We must defend that and stop being the common no action, quiet, majoring in the minors Christian.

We have to do all we can to reach the culture and this done by bridging gaps to help them understand. Much like teaching children on how we use examples, illustrations, or objects to help them understand deeper knowledge.

Disclaimer: the first image is an image explaining a Yogis explanation derived from a Hindu belief of using meditation to connect themselves to nature and the Gods. But in this thread I will not be supporting Hinduism, Yoga, or etc. But will be showing a parallel in a truth out of both images.

Explanation:
Mind, body, soul as in a human. Humans are material vessels living in the environment of a material realm. A yogi will try to connect to the inner middle grounding but in a similar sense our inner grounding that brings sincerity or peace can only be in the Spirit of God.

The trinity of God is in many ways connected to our trinitarian creation of mind, body, soul. The only way we live is by God animating our bodies through his breath of life.

Job 27:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 as long as I have life within me,
the breath of God in my nostrils,

We are told to love God with all 3 also

Mark 12:30 New International Version (NIV)
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Heart" (Hebrew lebab/leb [b'bel], Gk. kardia [kardiva]) occurs over one thousand times in the Bible, making it the most common anthropological term in the Scripture. It denotes a person's center for both physical and emotional-intellectual-moral activities; sometimes it is used figuratively for any inaccessible thing.

Heart (body), soul, mind.

For the Christian, God lives in us through the Spirit. So we are united in Chist and through justification become like Christ until his work is complete in us.

If we intertwine these triangles so that all are connected but all are still uniquely separated we get the symbol below.

The Star of David appears in the oldest complete copy of the Hebrew Bible, known as The Leningrad Codex, dated 1008

The star of David also known as the shield of David reminds us of God's plan that came through David, how God protects Israel and His people, and how thankful that gentiles was grafted into the same promise given to Abraham unto David and unto Jesus.

So mind, body, soul is 3 distinct sources that can be hurt by sin. If we are not centered in Christ then any of these 3 can be off balance. Mind can experience mental illness, body can experience sickness, and soul can ultimately be destroyed if one remains in the off centered state of being. After all the road to Heaven is narrow and we do not have much room to wander off. But the road to Hell is wide, wide enough to catch all the wanderers.
Their is the commandments of God and the doctrine of Men

Commandment of God
Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

The God of Jesus and his disciples is one. point blank period.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

2Co 11:31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

Doctrine of Men
God is not one but One in three or Three in one ____________________"fill in the blanks with various interpretations" substances, persons, etc

Amen Brother!

You worship the God who Jesus worships! And everyone before him and everyone who knew him. How could anyone fault you for following Jesus' words?

They say that "the Trinity is hinted at in the Scriptures". I don't see it. But even if it was, I follow Commands, not hints.

So I think a moderator deleted my image of the trinity as mind, body, soul. So my post could be hard to understand. This wasn't to debate the trinity doctrine. But only to connect how our trinitarian creation of mind, body, soul is connected to the trinity of Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Our souls are affected by the spiritual and once a Christian then we are connected through the reconciliation of Christ and the giving of the Holy Spirit.
Do you believe in the New Age?

Yes, I deny that God is three persons. "Holy Trinity" and the "Mystery of the Trinity" are not in the Bible.
John 10:30 New International Version (NIV)
30 I and the Father are one.”

John 10:30 New International Version (NIV)
30 I and the Father are one.”
one what?
you have to give full context.

Not one in the same because the Father is greater according to verse 29

Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Joh 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

when you go to verse 37 you see that The Son does the works of the Father.

1. So The Father is Greater than all
2. The Son and The Father are one
3. If The Son does not the works of The Father believe him not.

Therefore The Father and Son are one in agreement.

The Jews interpreted that he said he was God but this was not the case and he also made it clear that he was the Son of God.

Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

John 10:30 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus said, "the Father lives in me, and I live in the Father". They are inseparable. They exist in the most beautiful intimacy and unity. Jesus said, "The works that you see me do, I do not do them, but the Father that lives in me doeth the works."

"The Father alone is God". Jesus is the only begotten Son of the One True God who came to earth that we might know the Father.

Lord Jesus Christ is the full trinity. Lord=God the father, Jesus=God the son, Christ=means anointed and anointing is associated with the Holy Spirit.
