Sweet. Yes, I do understand that the problem is more human than animal. It is wonderful that you have had such lovely loving pets. It is a testament to YOU and your heart :D I cannot have a dog where I live, and I really do love dogs, though I joke that there is one thing about them I do not like, and that is the fact that they smell likes dogs LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Dogs are more high maintenance than cats also. My daughter's dogs make such a big fuss when I show up at her place; they really let me know they love me, and that is always nice :):):) My daughter is the alpha dog. Haha. Yep! They listen to her, and that is a good thing :) Others want to spoil them. A balance is required :D
I've always heard that too.. "You have to be the alpha dog" or "You have to be the leader of the pack" so they know you are in charge and will protect them so they don't have to take on that roll. I'm the pack leader here as well. Your daughter knows what she's doing :)
I had a Siamese for 18 years. She died of old age. When she finally died it was a mercy.. she had no quality of life left. All her teeth had fallen out .. yada yada I don't want to get maudlin. Anyway, I have a special affection for Siamese because they are so vocal. My mom has the sweetest cat I've ever known. Most cats will let you touch them only when they feel like it and when they get sick of you they let you know with a scratch or something if you don't catch on to their clues. My mom's cat is nothing but gentle no matter what. She's never bitten or scratched no matter what's going on. I really like her.. great big tabby with a full ring around his neck. Buddy and Mr.Tigg.jpg
On the right is Buddy. Somebody dropped him off at her house and she took him in. Tigger is on the right and he and his sister were found in our neighbor's barn as kittens. They are both very funny and very spoiled. She cooks for them .... I'm not kidding.
He's a male cat.. I just have a habit of calling cats girls and dogs boys.

Oh my goodness, Denise, that is one of the cutest little doggies ever. What breed is Buddy? Haha Tigger looks thrilled… not! LOL. It is funny how ear position can completely change an animal's look from happy to sour or even dangerous. Dogs do get the guy thing and girls the cat thing, don't they?:giggle: Luna is a Blue Point which is an Asian breed and looks a bit like Siamese, but her little mew is very quiet. I just looked it up and found images that look like her called Blue Point Birman Cat, which I had never heard of before. Oops, nope, she cannot be that because she does not have the white gloves! Animals are such wondrous amazing creatures, a sure testament to the diversity and complexity of God's creation. One of the previously feral cats my daughter domesticated is often said to be the best cat they have ever had. It is profoundly beautiful to see how abandoned and possibly abused animals respond to love and caring.

Haha yeah Buddy is a precious little babydoll. When I visit my mom he turns circles and circles so thrilled to see me. He always touches his nose to my nose.. which has always been a personal favorite thing of mine that a dog can do. I don't like licks... annoying and gross but nose touching is precious. Buddy is a chihuahua (we think) with too big of ears for the breed. Not sure if that's why they dropped him off in the country. He was just a little puppy when that happened. Anyway, Fotogenic-64f9ad48-c989-4d90-aaab-61a19b5277d6.jpg RESIZED.jpg we love his ears. I agree it's a special joy to see pets respond to love. Though I admit the older the rescued dog (dog at least I don't know about cats as much only having the one since kitten) the longer the adjustment to a new life with a new family. They come with a little baggage caused by neglect or abuse just like adopting an abandoned child in their adolescence rather than infancy.
I waxed the wood floors today. Looks so good. I love it after they've been freshly waxed and all shiny. I'm going to take the computer area apart tomorrow and clean and wax un there too. Then I plan to start on deep cleaning the kitchen if the Lord wills and the creek don't rise :p That's my big new years plans haha What are you doing?

It kind of looks like a scene from the gospels with "doubting" Thomas sticking his finger in Jesus' post-resurrection spear wound, though no verse actually says he did that, only that he claimed he wanted to before Jesus showed Himself to him :) The actual painting I do not know, or artist. Hey, the wood above the picture looks like it has eyes. Alien eyes :giggle::giggle::giggle:

I never saw that you answered this until tonight. Yeah that is a canvas copy of an oil painting of a Bible scene when the disciples told "doubting Thomas" that Jesus had risen from the dead Thomas said I will not believe unless I put my hand in his side because he saw the centurion puncture the side of Jesus and water gushed out. So when Jesus suddenly appeared in the middle of the room where they were hiding Jesus said Thomas feel my side. I love that.

And yes you are absolutely right about the pine paneling above the canvas. I have always thought the eyes look scary right there lol Isn't that weird??!!
Hope everything is going well with you :) Thank you for replying!
