My understanding about that comes from 1 John 5:6-10

6This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7For there are three that testify: 8the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son. 10The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.

The calling goes out to everybody. The calling is the testimony of God himself which he gives through the voice of the Holy Spirit within the heart of a person. The one who believes that testimony is the one who retains that testimony in his heart. We call that 'having faith'. The one who doesn't believe is the one who casts the testimony of God from his heart, in effect calling God who told him the truth about Jesus a liar. That is what I consider blasphemy of the Spirit--attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to that of a lying spirit of wickedness.

So, how a saved called out one of the Father responds is they retain what they heard and are saved. They are chosen (elected) on the basis of the faith they keep in their heart which we call 'believing'. And these are the ones who are given the Spirit of Christ.

"you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit " Ephesians 1:13
So your understanding rests on the words " believe, believer, and believing"? The same as dcontroversial, eternally grateful, and most of the others here. Your on the same path as them, why do you see yourself as different?

And the way we can tell who has been born of God is they tend to look and act like their Father.

They don't look like my Father, or my big brother Jesus.
Just being honest.
That doesn't mean they aren't my brothers.
It means I can't tell they are.
Hopefully, it's just a case of them being immature:

"1Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. 2I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? " 1 Corinthians 3:1-3

I see more of Adam in them than I do our brother Jesus.
Just being honest.
And trying to endure their provocations nibbles away at my faith, not builds it up.

Ya, I've tried to reason with him and the others here.

What is your understanding about how a called out one of the Father responds, thus recieving the Spirit of Christ?
As we have tried to reason with you, Gave up on this along time ago, I forgot all about you,

Which part? The one that gave His only begotten Son, or the one who killed 50 thousand because one person opened the ark of the covenant without a covering?

I really would like to stay on the understanding of what true Faith is, and how it's applied.

You obviously don't know that the words believe, believer, and believing are mistranslations. No such words in the Greek language! No such words in the original texts!

Oh, and by the way. They define the believing that saves as believing that you can not lose your salvation. It's a subtle twist on the truth. Well, maybe not so subtle, but still a twist nonetheless.

In this life, the image of God in the earthly Christ. That part.
There is a battle that is coming when we believers will take the gloves off.

I know that we use the word 'faith' when what we are really talking about is 'believing'.

That's why we have to go back to the Bible's definition of 'faith'. It's a noun.
Meanwhile, 'believing' is a verb. It's the action you may or may not perform in response to the thing called 'faith'.
But don't get confused when the Bible uses the word 'faith' when talking about 'believing'.

If your taking the words " believe, believer, or believing" on their own for anything associated with salvation or recieving the Spirit of Christ, your being deceived!

Context has to be considered when defining the application of those words.

In regard to salvation, 'believing' implies 'trusting'.
Trusting that the blood of Christ forgives all of your sin, not just knowing that it will.
Fake 'believers', and devils who 'believe' aren't doing that kind of believing.

Lol! You need to keep learning!

The verb your addressing is " pisteuo" in the Greek. Pisteuo is the corresponding verb to the noun Pistis, where we get our English word Faith, a noun. They are both used over 245 times in the NT.

The Strong's tells us," pisteuo means NOT just to believe!".

The Vines, " pisteuo means a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender!".

This is where you need to ask the right question, or you'll never hear another word from me.

If you do not know what saving Faith is, you more than likely haven't fulfilled it yet!

If you haven't fulfilled it yet, you haven't received the Spirit of Christ yet!

If you haven't received the Spirit of Christ yet, then Christ, His word, and the promises in His word are not yours yet!

So keeping in the backwards or perverted theme, " context" is a mute point!

"1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

How does simply knowing something is true save a person???
Not to open a can of worms, but James calls that 'faith alone', and says that can not save a man. Even the demons know the truth about Jesus. And that didn't save them.

Surely, it's the trusting you do in response to the knowing of faith that secures the forgiveness of God in Christ.

I thought it was a verb related to a noun.

The verb is to believe in the noun.

So my understanding is that it's belief in Jesus.

I know there are two words for faith in the Greek. Pistis & Pisteou.

I read somewhere that basically is means to believe/entrust in Jesus for salvation which will follow through with actions concerning said faith.

I may have got the verb/noun wrong.
I was never good at understanding such things.

Lol, I think you're right.

No offense, @Pisteuo, but you're coming across as a life drain, not a conduit to life.

I trust in Jesus' blood as the way God can and has forgiven my sin and brought me into fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit.
