Jimmy Swaggart why would you have anythinggggg to do with him????
Why would the Lord have anything to do with you, or me, or anybody? John 3:16-17

You have just done the exact same thing as Peter!

When Jesus restored Peter after being some what embarrassed, he said to Jesus, "what about him (referring to John), what is he going to do? Jesus replied, "Don't worry about him (mind your business), you follow Me! John 21:21-22

Notice, Jesus rebuked Peter. Keep your Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary, and receive the help of the Holy Spirit that causes you to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh as you have just done by attending to the business of other Believers!

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17

Hello all, could you please provide some biblical wisdom or insight on instances one finds themselves in a cycle of repenting for a sin and recommitting it? prayers that may help break the chains of bondage? Thank you
"In the world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
A word the Lord told me will be helpful: What you dont realise is that the battle is already won, its not as simple as you getting the power, you have to Love the Truth. Also keep in mind, "All manner of sin shall be forgiven to man, but rejecting the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven." The Holy Spirit leads us in the Truth." "The Truth shall set you free," from deceit. Living a lie is what we do appart from God. Recovery is a Lifelong Journey.
And for a prayer, yes its my favorite verse. "Count it all Joy, (same as be of good cheer) Pray without quiting, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Keep going before God and confessing it, because your enemy the devil wants you to stop praying and just give in to it. If it is sexual immorality, do all that you can to remove yourself from what tempts you. I had this problem for many years in my life as a Christian, but it was tearing me apart! And that because I had the old sinful nature and the new man in Christ and therefore, could not happily live in that state. So, at some point I just could not live that way any more and prayed for God to help me overcome this once and for all, else it was going to kill me. So I stopped dating all together and monitored my life regarding this. The powers of darkness don't want you to overcome that because willful sin keeps us separated from God. It was a battle, but God rescued me from it. I have been celibate now for 14 years and always thank God for helping me overcome it.

I believe that this is one of the hardest sins to overcome. It is even mentioned in the letters to three of the churches for repentance. God knows if we are serious about overcoming sin or not.

Jesus said, "If your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out." And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off." For it is better to cut yourself off from fulfilling those desires and enter into eternal life, than to continue to fulfill them and be thrown into hell. That was the gist of that parable.

The same GOD that forgave you Is the judge.
While God is the ultimate Judge, we are told in Scripture to avoid sinful men and those who corrupt the gospel. Swaggart never properly repented of his adultery, and therefore has no business being in ministry. Further, the material that MOTC posts from JSM is a corruption of the gospel that denies the resurrection and ascension and makes the cross into an idol. On such things, we are to judge. :)

Christian disciplines or religious activity doesn't give the Believer victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. It is by "Grace" through "Faith" the humble receive the help of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:2). It is NOT by an act of LABOR, but an act of Faith placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Finished Work at Calvary Cross, i.e., the Blood of Jesus.

Anything and everything else, no matter how scriptural it may be, will be judged by God as iniquity (Matthew 7:14-23)! That includes fasting, praying, or any other Christian disciplines and/or religious activity that you are using to bring victory. The Christians who do this have just made a "LAW" by changing God's prescribed order of victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. Rom. 8:2

The only solution for sin, the only answer to sin, is the Cross of Christ

Christ Crucified

That, and that alone, is the Message which will save the sinner, set the captive free, and give the Believer perpetual victory [I Cor. 1:17-18, 23; 2:1-2].
How does that work in a practical sense in a way that it can be applied to one's life?

Maybe it should be said that Court never specified a sin that they're referring to as repeating it. So some who go with Masturbation are doing no good service to Court because they never said that was their issue.

Let's pray attention people. :)
I think if you keep repeating the "same sin" , repenting of it, and then commit that same sin again, that you might consider you're not totally sorry for what you've done.
I don't know what sin you're referring to Court however, maybe you can do a personal inventory of yourself and this sin that you know you re-commit and see what it is that calls you to repeat the same behavior over and over again. Then feel contrite about it, but yet repeat it over and over again.

What's at the root of the problem? Like as an example, if it were over eating. What particular food do you gorge yourself on? Sometimes the nutritional content of a food and our body being defecient in that naturally occuring element, like vitamin C, B, etc... , the body will cause us to crave what contains that particular nutrient because the body is hungry for it. The body seeks to find balance and if our nutrition is depleted the body will suffer for it. When it gets a taste of what it needs, it will lead us to hunger, crave, it so that it gets fed where it is lacking.
Make sense?
God bless and be with you.

When you repent and re-commit the same sin again...
You're human..

Acknowledging that your a sinner does not mean your going to cease sinning.. When we are transformed into perfect beings upon the day of the resurrection THEN we shall have no sin any more..

The Atonement of Jesus keeps on covering us.. For sins of the past and sins in our future as long as we have no resistance to the Word of God.. If we sin acknowledge it without trying to justify ourselves and thank Jesus for the atonement he secured to save you from the consequences of our sins..

Actually it's what you have just done....

"not in the flesh as you have just done by attending to the business of other Believers!"
It is actually our duty scripturally to use scripture to exhort, rebuke etc... to speak the truth in love-Jesus Himself warned us against wolves in sheep's clothing; and choosing which leaders we put ourselves under the guidance of is extremely important.
We are told we will know what people are like by the fruit in their lives, this is not judging it is being wise. Even a child is known by their ways whether they be good and right.
The Bible describes what a leader ought to be like and Jimmy Swaggart doesn't fit the description.
As a believer on this earth I need all the help I can get, it is a narrow/ difficult way to live; I value upright, Godly, faithful men... the Bible tells us that false teachers will arise and also that they will make merchandise of people-there are plenty of TV evangelists taking in millions from poor people who trust them, only to be buying themselves huge mansions and private jets.

It is not judging to discern who is a good leader and who isn't.

News flesh! Every legend and hero that is named in the bible has sinned. Only Jesus was Perfect!

In spite of the terrible sins that David committed (which was as bad as you can get), it did not stop God from His Son being called the "Son of David." Those who walk in the Spirit will always have shortcomings (acts of sin) until the trump sounds.

Satan is the father of lies and hates the Cross (Colossians 2:14-15). He uses others who walk in the flesh to do his bidding (1 Peter 5:8).

The Miracle of God’s Word

Proverbs 30:10
Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.

Getting in everybody’s business seems to be the norm in today's society. Years ago diaries were kept for personal use only, while today it seems that everyone is on social media desiring everyone know everything about them. We, as God’s people, need not go around accusing folks to their employers, bosses, master’s or whatever the case may be. If they are guilty, they will reap what they are sowing.

Us butting into everyone else’s business will only backfire on us. Jumping into domestic turbulence will only end up taking us somewhere we didn’t want to go. We do have the answer if we are carrying the knowledge of Christ and His work at Calvary with us everywhere we go (2 Corinthians 2:14-16). Remember, scripture used outside of this context will only make the situation worse, while deceiving ourselves (Romans 7:9-11) even while we are attempting to help others. May we be found carrying the aroma of Christ and Him crucified with us everyday and everywhere we go!!

Seeking God in His Word and experiencing Him through faith in the sacrifice of Christ!

Are you implying I am walking in the flesh?

Teachers have a much greater
responsibility in James 3 verse 1.
It is not wrong to warn God's people away from false teachers, nor is it wrong to encourage them to test every Spirit.

Philippians 1 1-9

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;

Psalm 119 v66

Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments.

Where does it say that God's people will always have acts of sin til the trumpet sounds?

Lets test the spirit. Do you believe that Gods prescribe order of victory (Romans 8:2), over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil, comes ONLY by Faith placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and Finished Work at Calvary where the victory was won?

Do you believe every blessing the Believer receives comes through the Cross (Calvary)?

Do you believe Faith only in Christ and not the Cross is judge by God as SPIRITUAL ADULTREY?
