It was the person she was responding to who said you can bear fruit without repenting. She questioned it by putting three question marks after her response, see below. Then she said this man needs more study, meaning he does not know very much.

The first sentence is incorrect, because the person she was responding to was me. And I never said such a thing.
I figured out why she responded that way, and clairified my Statement.
The way I understand it is that the fruit they were bearing was demonstrating that they had not repented. So John in effect said their fruit was not meet for repentance.
Not that they had to bear fruit in order to repent. They needed to repent so that they might bear the fruit of repentance, wholly by God’s Grace
He (I) didn’t. It was an honest misunderstanding. I know what caused it, so I clarified my statement
Yes that is why I answered as I did because this is my experience in Christ; however I try to be prudent in remembering that there is always more Truth to discover in God's Word; in fact none of us knows it all only Him...You do not need to study it, it comes natural to those who are in Christ and Christ in them.
Gal 5:22-26 KJV
(22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
(23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
(24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
(25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

think about it, if baptism and works were essential for salvation, John would have completed the work to help them, instead he said like james proves your repentance by you work the pharisees never repented, that’s why John refused, their repentance was dead.
They were still in the Old Covenant. The New Covenant had not yet been sealed by Jesus’ blood yet. The promise received on Pentecost had not come ( the Spirit was there, of course, but the Baptism of Spirit was yet future. Yet the could bear fruit of repentance by Gods grace.
If you think about it, John and the Law shared some common functions. Both the Law and John pointed tobJesus. Both the Law and John were tasked with preparing the people for Jesus. But neither baptized in the Holy Spirit, therefore John said “ I baptize you with water, but one is coming who is greater who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit

These verses do speak of believers.
Paul is worried not for the loss of their salvation but for their loss of abiding in Christ and the loss of the experience of living under grace... not losing the position of grace ... which is not possible.

imagine being pulled up by a rope and almost being saved, only to have the rope severed at the end, God almost pulled you out. But in the end, his grace was severed. They never made it all the way to the end. Because they chose in the end to go to what they rally trusted. The law.

Remember, David was considered a man after Gods heart as a very young man, Bathsheba and Nathan occured later in his life. Which shows even a mature man of God can fall down now one is safe from sin. The worse place we can be is thinking we made it and we are ok

If they Are, then he is right, People can lose savation.
Once again, Not everyone in our churches are true believers. Paul was directing his words to them. Those wh had not yet made the leap to true repentance and faith. Easily decieved by the false teachers.
A person who truely came to the knowledge of CHrist and understood the gospel coue not be tempted by these judiasers.

Thats a different gospel. The same gospel this thread has been trying to defeat since it was first opened.
If your trust is in works. Your trusting a different gospel. Paul said in his opening remarks. That is not a replacement gospel.
You can not fall from Grace if your a true born again believer.
You can not say Christ has become n affect if your a true born again believer. Thats saying Christs saving grace and the filling of the spirit had no afffect on a person. Sorry, I can not buy that.

John was telling them to bear the fruit of repentance. It was possible under the old covenant to bear fruit unto repentance. King David did. Even the wicked Assyrians did in Jonah’s day, though it did not pass to future generations. John was telling them to repent in preparation for the Coming King. Prepare the way of the Lord, make His path straight” was His ministry.
The Law functioned in a similar matter. It did not save, but prepared for the One who can and will save all who Repent towards God and believe on the Lord Jesus

There is the active experience of grace and the position of grace... important to differentiate which Paul is addressing, since we can never loose salvation and we know he is addressing believers then we know Paul's concern is with regards to behaviour/doctrine/beliefs that move one away from the active experience of grace.
