Are you unaware of the meaning of El in many people's names throughout the Bible? Are you unaware how the Davidic promise was finally fulfilled through Christ, especially after the Israelites have been abandoned for centuries. And you question what the expression 'God with us' means?
You haven't read your Old Testament, or you missed the overall principle i.e. favouritism then abandonment, then an anti-climatic return, then 400 years of silence, and the Israelites lament 'until when God will you let your people suffer'? You are unable to correlate 'God with us' with the plight of the Israelites? ...no, let's go with the god-man theory?

I am fed up of being treated badly by other Christians just because I don't agree with their Calvinism. I am weary of explaining myself to them and they need to be reminded that I am God's Child and they are being rude to me. That is not wicked and prideful it is the truth. They need to check themselves and how they are treating other people who are actually God's children. You are judging me, you are wrong to do that. God knows my heart and you do not. It is just more rudeness, which is not walking in love like God tells us to.

It is friendly, if someone thinks you are an universalist it could be something you said.
I have not attacked you at all, but I would say this, you have constantly mocked in this
thread, mocked Calvinists and Calvinism, that is your right. You don't come across as
a saved person, you display temper and tantrums, I forgive you of course and I apologise
for offending you.

I honestly don't think you know how to discuss theological issues, you have said nothing
Christlike since being in here, you don't show maturity, and certainly don't progress
a Christ like forgiving attitude.

In short, it may be better for you to move along, you certainly don't know how to discuss
in a friendly way.

Also this is a good reminder for everyone, that God will judge us all, so be careful how you behave:

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Christians should live in a Holy Fear of God, BTW im just pointing this out, not against you Butterfly (since you claim innocence, so be it), but just a general reminder for everyone of this truth.

I do not think the spirit behind Calvinism is the Holy Spirit and the nastiness (and believe me you have not actually seen how bad it can get) is certainly not a gift of the Holy Spirit

don't let him push you around and again, no use to complain about his character. he is perfect in his own eyes like most Calvinists seem to be

this forum is not as moderated as most are and so people say things here that they would not say in another forum without getting banned quite frankly

you can start a study thread and invite others to join and you will not have anyone disagreeing...you can discuss your beliefs until even you have enough of it

**Remember that just because you personally don't agree a doctrine doesn't make it heresy. Rejecting historic essentials of the faith is heresy, a lot of what gets reported as heresy is just bad doctrine.

in other words, you might not like what someone says about what you posted, but you have no business calling them a heretic or telling them they don't read the Bible or are not saved or other personal attacks and reading your posts it looks like you have done ALL those things

Reformed also believe in...(which I hold to be essential doctrine)

A. Trinity

B. Second Coming of Jesus

C. Substitutionary Atonement

D. Justification by faith

E. Resurrection of Jesus

F. Virgin birth
etc

none of the things you list are problematical

however, when you examine the TULIP equation, unless you actually are a Calvinist, you are not going to agree

I am neither Arminium or Calvinist

I simply believe in Christ and what the Bible teaches...not the interpretations that twist what it states

one thing in particular most non-Calvinists will raise an uproar about is the less than delightful Calvin taught regarding pre-election to mean God creates people to go to hell...SPECIFICALLY to go to hell

one Calvinist in another thread called those unfortunates 'human trash'

there is a reason these types of threads get the responses that they do...name calling and twisting what others actually say and telling them they don't read the Bible or they are not saved or what have you. none of that has anything to do with anything, other than trying to create a personal dialogue that has nothing to do with the actual op

it seems ad hominim attacks are part of the Calvinist playbook

complaints seem to have at least stopped the name calling and mocking on the part of the Calvinists so they have toned it down
