If anyone wants me to mail them handwritten letters let me know. This is a lost art form that I think needs resuscitation. I wrote one the other day and I wasn't sure if I even remembered how to write cursive!

The reason I wrote the letter was i wanted to contact the Amish and they don't exactly have an email address lol although some communities have phone booths now at the end of lanes which everyone shares. I'm not sure I could ever join them but I have an affinity for them for sure.

Can you send it via pigeon mail?

It's a fun pastime for sure. This site used to have a sister site for Christian pen pals, but it has passed on. I met my very best friend though that site, and snail mailing as been a big part of my life for years. It's ironic that you have to go to the internet to find pen pals...

I do admire their simpler life style, family values and team work ethic. Tourist and I went on a road trip to Michigan to visit our daughter Jackie about three years ago and we stopped at an Amish stand and bought a pumpkin. There was no one at the stand just a big plastic tub with a lid that held the money they had prices on most of their items. No one ever came out while we were there I guess they just trust the honor system we just left the money for the pumpkin under the tub of money and went on our way.... They sure are trusting anyone could run off with their tub of money....I was amazed.

Why not have the Canadian Mounties double as The Pony Express... Moose Mail. 😁🦌

Sorry.

All I've got is this deer emoji.
This moose is prepared to carry all the mail that will be generated from this thread :D

How about hand writing a letter, taking a pic of it and sending it via email? 😊 ok ok it’s prob not the same lol

I'm actually sending out a handwritten letter this week. 😘

I've written letters since I was about 9 years old. I think stamps were about 20 cents back then, and I used to spend most of my allowances on stamps as I got older.

It's crazy to me that stamps are now 50 cents! I correspond fairly frequently, so that would really add up if I didn't take shameless advantage of the internet.

I can also type a bit faster than I handwrite. My friends also tease me that when I text, it's in chapters, not abbreviations 😁, but that's just how I've always written.

Every now and then however, it's very therapeutic to break out the good stationery and write out a good old-fashioned pen and paper snail mail. 🥳

You betcha!

When I was growing up, my family didn't have much money, so one of my favorite things was going to stores like Woolworth (does anyone else remember Woolworth's Dime Stores...) and buying tablets of stationery with cool designs or characters (at the time, Garfield was my favorite.) :)

Hello Kitty stationery was only sold at fancy stores in the big cities (this was way before the internet) and cost a bundle of money.

Now that I'm grown up and work to earn my own way... I make the big splurge and pick up $8 pack of Hello Kitty paper now and then, but only to use on letters for my most treasured friends and family. ;)
