Colossians 2:12 is "having been buried with Him in THE baptism..." (His DEATH [on the Cross]).

Romans 6:6 -

"We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin" or as another version puts it, "knowing [present participle] this, that our old man was crucified with Him [/was crucified-together-with Him], so that the body of sin might be annulled, that we are no longer enslaved to sin."
Is this water baptism or spirit baptism?

I will share what I see. I hope you agree, If you disagree, please share why you think so

1. It is describing the spiritual circumcision done by the had of God
2. It says in the passage who did the baptizing,

buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

According to this, what I see is that this baptism into his burial and being raised was performed by the one who rose Christ from the dead? Who is this?

When I read Rom 6 I see it speaking of being baptized into Christ (not water) and being baptized into his death (not water) who has the power to baptize us into Christs death where our sins are washed away? Is it not God?

Sadly people in my view see the word baptize an automatically assume it is water baptism. It is not this in the greek. And thus it should not be in the English

Amen

A promise according to the mosaic covenant.

And god will do what he promises. If Isreal repents, and turns from their sin, He will remember his promise to them, He will heal the land. And he will again be their God (see also Lev 26)

In fact prophesy states this will happen. Amen and Praise God!

Yep, e-g, I said way back on Page 2, Post #32, that Colossians 2:12 is not referring to "water" (but His "DEATH"):

Oh, and P.S. I agree with you about the 2 Chron 7:14 verse! (a promise specifically TO ISRAEL--we should be "correctly apportioning the word of truth" as we are called to do)

"our citizenship is in heavens" (see Phil3:18 thru 21), so that we are simply "ambassadors" here on the earth (until He calls us UP).

So we are to "2 Set your minds on the things above, not the things on the earth. 3 For you have died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God." (Col3:2-3)

[^ "the things upon the earth" = Israel's earthly things, promised to Israel ("heal your LAND," etc; and re: the promised and prophesied EARTHLY Millennial Kingdom...), not to "the Church which is His body" (us; "in this present age [singular]")]

Col 2: 11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body [h]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

here we have words of paul which are sadly misinterpreted by so many, and twisted to make it appear paul is promoting something he never even hinted at saying, a passage which speaks of the literal or spiritual fulfilment of two symbolic traditions of Gods people (circumcision and water baptism) and how these spiritual realities empower gods children by nailing the penalty of the law on the cross

lets take a close look at these words..

11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,

this is speaking of the time when we were circumcised with the circumcision perform by the hands of god. The spiritual circumcision where our souls were made clean.

by putting off the body [h]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

here paul shows us it was the physical circucmcision of Christ on the cross, which when applied to,us, puts or cuts off our body of sins of the flesh.

he then goes to show how this spiritual circumcision done without hands take place.

12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

Paul now speaks of another tradition or work, which is symbolically fulfilled, the spiritual baptism performed by god himself, the same baptism prophesied by John the baptist (you will be baptized) also known as the baptism of the Hs, the act of god baptising us into Christ, where our sins are washed or cut (circumcised) away.

the result of this spiritual baptism/circumcision?

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

the end result, the salvation of our souls

it saddens me to no end that people will take this triumphant work of god in our salvation. The moment we call out to god, and twist it to mean some physical act of water baptism

1. it takes the work of god in spiritual baptism and makes it a work of man
2. it takes the work of god in spiritual circumcision as in reality the work of some human who baptizes us in water

3. It takes the spiritual act of god saving us from Our sins and turns it into a works based gospel of man washing our sins by dunking us in water.

it may sound good, but in reality it takes the work of god and credit due him and gives it to the man who baptized us and takes credit away from god.

Since you used this passage in your OP., And have tried to tell me to study Gods word. Can you help me?

1. Where am I wrong in what I said
HERE!

1 Peter 2
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Colossians 2
2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the MYSTERY of God, AND of the Father, AND of Christ;

So, it's NOT that these being 3 that are ONE, is where you're WRONG!

It's when you REFUSE TO SEPARATE THEM!

And THEN? Expose your spiritual IMMATURITY, in your CONDEMNING EVERYONE who even TRIES TO!

And THEN? Go running around looking for others IN CONFIRMING your words!

THIS, is WHERE you're "stagnation of spirit" puts you!:

Isaiah 28
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
21 For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, LEST YOUR BANDS BE MADE STRONG: for I have heard from the Lord God of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

Amen bro. Sorry I missed your words on page 2. Someone emailed me and mention the one post and I responded to it. I eventually went back to read the op to see what all the fuss was about. And replied to that with a comment on Colossians 2. I did not read much else between that and my first post.

Amen. Seeking the things above, Our focus. Not the things on earth, including religion.

Its sad how satan has turned Gods teaching tools into religion. Its even Sadder that people have fallen for the same old tactic he used to turn Israel away from God.

As I see it, one needs to go on to "bold" [EMPHASIZE] the rest of the verse [i.e. the POWER SOURCE]

"to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God BY MEANS OF JESUS CHRIST"

Seeing the bible as its own dictionary defines its own words according to the authors intends. Which Israel seeing not all Israel is born again Israel ? The heavenly not seen or the temporal seen?

Israel as a one outwardly according to the flesh or a Jew as a Israelite inwardly having the Spirit of Christ? Jacob would define a Jew according to the flesh as unconverted mankind

Well, this is where the study of CHRONOLOGY becomes imperative (as I've said, and as you and I have covered in the past). So here, I will just post a cpl brief things we've discussed in past threads, to refresh your memory (but not to continue on this particular discussion here in this OP's thread):

[quoting excerpts from my past posts, for the readers]

"(note Rom9:26/Hos1:10 re: Israel, in contrast to Rom9:25/Hos2:23b re: the Gentiles)"

[I'll leave this ^ for the reader to trace out for themselves; but note that the phrase in v.26, "in the place WHERE IT WAS SAID UNTO THEM...," this can only be speaking OF ISRAEL]

[and]

Romans 11:25-29 [overall context of Romans chpts 9-11 being "NATIONS"--"Israel [singular NATION]" and "the Gentiles [plural NATIONS]"]

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness [/a hardening - G4457] in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness [pleroma - G4138] of the Gentiles be come in [G1525[/U]].

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. [see Hosea 5:15's "TILL" in the Hos5:15-6:3 passage, where 6:1-2 gives a specific TIME FRAME for this "TILL"]

28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance/irrevocable.

[end quoting]

So this is a matter of grasping "CHRONOLOGY" issues...

Welllll? True enough!

....and it's not that I'm trying to "negate" Christ, at all, or by any means, as the only correct "starting point."

For we can do nothing without Him!

That being said, however? Jesus is the CONDUIT TO GOD, and the Father, OF Himself!

The refusal of growing in spiritual maturity, are those who have given GOD, and the Father of Jesus Christ, cause, and rightfully so, in these eyes, and others, it appears; For 2 of the 3, in lamenting: "Who are WE?" "Just chopped liver to y'all?" "Ya'll don't NEED US?" Provoking THEM to anger? And to what end?
THIS!
2 Thessalonians 2

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What lie?
2 Thessalonians 2
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The "son of perdition" gets very angry, when he becomes, are is caused to become exposed!

He becomes even more angrier, when he sees those of whom, he had considered "on his side", "jumping ship!"

Psalm 110
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou IN THE MIDST OF THINE ENEMIES.

Yeah! About verse 2.
How's that "working out?" "Eh?"

The wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will disappear. I Cor. 1:20 and following...and where is the theologian of this day as well? I wish the lives of those who post could be displayed as well, know what I mean? We would see who has been set free from sin and who is led by the Spirit; who has crucified the sinful nature and whose mind in controlled by the Spirit. Much debating would cease since the Kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.

In answer to your Q here ^ (regarding Psalm 110:2), I think Gaebelein says it best:

[quoting Gaebelein]

"Seven verses only, but what revelations and depths we find here! The Psalm is frequently quoted in the New Testament. Who is the person of whom the first verse testifies? Here is the critics’ answer. “Is the Psalm Messianic? Looking at it by itself, and without prepossession, one would not say that it is, for the writer has in mind some actual ruler of his own day, and his references are to events of his own times” (Prof. Davidson). But what about the words of our Lord in Matthew 22:41-46? In the light of these words every critic who denies the Messianic meaning of this Psalm is branded as a liar. And such they are. Our Lord shows that David wrote the Psalm, that he wrote by the Spirit, that the Psalm speaks of Him, as David’s Lord and David’s Son. To deny these facts is infidelity. And the Holy Spirit useth the Psalm to show the exaltation of Christ. See Acts 2:34-35; Hebrews 1:13 and Hebrews 10:12-13.

"How well it fits in with the preceding Psalm. The Rejected One is the Risen One. His work on earth as the sin-bearer is finished. God raised Him from the dead and exalted Him to His own right hand. There He waits for the hour when God will make His enemies His footstool. This is not accomplished by the preaching of the gospel, nor by the work of the Church, but by God when He sends Him back to earth again and He will bind Satan and all His enemies will be overthrown. The rod of His power will proceed out of Zion and He will rule in the midst of His enemies. Then in that coming day of power, His people (Israel) will be a willing people, who will shine in the beauty of holiness in the dawning of the morning. He will be the true Melchisedec, a Priest upon His own throne. Then His judgment work and His Victory, judging nations and the wicked head of nations. “He shall drink of the brook in the way, therefore shall He lift up the head.” He was the humbled One, who drank of death, and now is the exalted One. (For a complete exposition see the author’s pamphlet “The Royal Psalms.”)"

Status quo theological jargon that contains part of the truth, so mainstream we think it is the truth. But it’s not true to the canon of Scripture. I’ve heard such sermons so based that the child molester can rejoice that God only sees the righteousness of Christ. Absurd. The worshipper has no idea what it means to live by Jesus as He lived by the Father. “My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me.” But the soulish Christian is free to lean on his own understanding today and walk in his own way consequently the things he does are not done to the glory of God because Christ is not Head. This is status quo religion, but not Bible. Jesus came to baptize us in the Holy Spirit, as His forerunner testified. But such theology has no need for why He truly came. The worshipper continues in sin as well, the very acts Jesus came to destroy. He has promised to love those who obey His teaching. “Abide in My love. If you keep My commands you will abide in My love just as I have kept My Father’s commands and abide in His love. Let’s drop theology and just take up the sword of the Spirit and talk in His language. Such Christian Talmud as a lot of you guys spout kept me in sin and from being able to live by faith and cease from my own works to do His will instead. Our family’s peace would be shot and Christ would no longer be Lord.
If you insist on preaching a grace mixed with works gospel (thereby nullifying GRACE) can you at least do it using paragraphs instead of the dreaded wall of text?

Thanks.

[2Th2:10-12 refers to what WILL take place in "the DOTL/IN THAT DAY" (an earthly time period of "JUDGMENTS" [which FOLLOWS our RAPTURE/THE Departure], not "in this present age [singular]"/NOW... but I think I "get" your point, if you're wanting to apply that to ppl "now" as you are ("the man of sin/son of perdition" and the "strong delusion" sent / "the lie/the false/pseudei")… you, meaning, NayborBear]

You have nothing to say in response then. Ok. But I tell you I can't even get breakfast in the morning without Jesus, who delivered me from sin, who circumcised my heart and caused me to become a slave to God, the only freedom a man can know. Beautiful grace and power and love, some so much more wise than myself call dribble. God have mercy.
Is that sinless perfectionism I smell?
