I want to honour our feline friends with a thread just for them.
Feel free to post any stories you have of your cat, a friends, whoevers - and the funny, quirky, outrageous stuff that they do.
I miss my cat heaps. She got run over when I was away interstate working. She was like a dog in that she used to follow us over to the local shopping centre, and we'd be shooing her to go back. But it did no good; she'd be sitting outside the shop, patiently waiting for any of us that went over there. Then she'd walk back with us to our house just across the road. Trying to keep her inside was impossible. She'd literally rip the doors, curtains & everything up trying to get out, so you had to let her out. She would literally howl like a scream, if you kept her inside against her will. She was fiercely independent, and defended us to the hilt against anything she perceived as a threat.
She was jet black with bright green eyes, with a perfect white diamond in the centre of her chest. I have no photos of her, cos I always thought there will be time to take some, and I didn't think to take any. How said is that.
I remember my sister texted me and told me my cat was now RIP under the apple tree in Mum's back yard. At first I thought it was a joke - rang my Mum. She said unfortunately no. When I got back home, I realised how empty the house was without her, and I thought about all the funny things she used to do that I took for granted. I walked around every room, still expecting her to jump out at me, but no, she wasn't there anymore.
I've been thinking alot about her lately, and I don't know if it's my imagination, but I feel she is trying to tell me something. Maybe she's trying to tell me she's OK and to let her go - I don't know. All I know is that I miss her, and her kitten that we kept with us, more than ever.
Even her kitten disappeared one day, we think somebody just picked her up & took her, because she was so friendly towards everyone.
My advice to you all: take good care of your pets cos they don't ask for anything from us. They just give us love & affection unconditionally. Oh, and take heaps of photos and vids, cos you never know when something will happen to them.
RIP Tasha. I will always miss you matey xx
