Just some of the vocabulary we beginners have to encounter on to a better understanding of our faith.
I struggle to be honest. that's probably one reason why I avoid the more serious Biblical debates here.
I guess another question might be "How important is it to know these concepts?". I'm not trying to be disrespectful here. just that some Christians seem to know what is required of them without much intellectual effort.

So you are new to the faith household!
Blessing to you MFR!
I have been serving God since I was 18,taught Sunday school,young ladies ect.ect.
Some here blow my mind!
This walk is simple,friend.
You don't have to know greek,hebrew,ect.ect.
All you have to do is yield yourself to the Holy Spirit and open your heart to Him,He is our teacher today.
Read the word,spiritually with Him in prayer.
It isn't some great thesis as some put forth,just simple and straight forward.

I am 64 and it has taken me a life time to grasp some of these meanings behind these words. We are all still learning and as you seek to understand and learn about God I don't think you will ever stop learning even into eternity....

The biggest hurdle here is that there really doesn't seem to be agreement on what many of those terms mean.
Shucks, we don't even understand what many denominations besides ours are about...…… and many times we don't even understand our own.

I might fancy myself as a an intellectual sometimes but I much prefer your approach IFH.
We are supposed to be child-like in our faith after all. 😃

I get confused quite easily JL. I appreciated your post in the other thread but I didnt fully grasp it to be honest. Thanks. I might respond later.

I honestly believed the nonsense I read online about Christian Reconstructionism (Dominionism), until I began studying about it. (Unfortunately, it is true that it is Calvinist. LOL)

It can go both ways really, as I see it. Simple faith and trust in God is a beautiful thing. Less stress when one commits to study of Apologetics or any discipline as pertains to Christian theology.
Also, sometimes as it happens, the more one reads the scripture the more they want to scratch what is beneath the surface. The Bible's masterpiece is that there are so many layers beneath what we think are words on the page.

Romans 3:25 - Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

1 John 2:2 - And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 4:10 - Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. :)

I have found that reading the Bible in various versions often makes some obscure concepts much clearer..... Especially when I look something up in The Passion Translation (TPT)
