Walk trough the valley
Denying ourselves and bearing the cross to follow the Lord is the Work of God by influence of the Holy Spirit: only those full of the Holy Spirit who no longer live for themeselves in dead works are permitted to go on to perfection; those who have learned obedience in the fellowship of His sufferings have part in the first resurrection. Those who remain quarelsome remain babes and their work is burned but they will be saved through the fire.

Hey DeighAnn

Here is something you will not like...;)

Resting in what Christ has already done is our spiritual warfare.
Resting in what Christ has already done is our obedience of faith.
Resting in what Christ has already done is our faith in action.

Jesus is our true Sabbath rest.
Jesus is our true Sabbath rest, I do agree. And I rest in Christ always. His burden is light, light, light, in Him I do delight. I don't know what "spiritual warfare he has done for you but as for me He has given me warnings, not as to what He is going to do for me but what I need to be watching for and how I need to be preparing. I am going to follow those directions and as told "put on the full gospel armor to withstand the fiery darts of Satan".

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I have never "laboured" under the law, and have never been burdened by carrying around sin, and I receive that rest through His Sacrifice of infinite value. I do thank the Lord for that gift always. His yoke does rest upon me light and easy, and I love it.

Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Yes, I am labouring to enter into that rest also but as he said that is "of another day". For I remain alive in the flesh
.
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

And I do walk in the good way, and I do find rest for my soul. But most of all when I DIE
Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Romans 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
And as for me and the Word
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
This is work. Don't get me wrong it is a work I love more than anything else. Period. I myself, did not receive the word through a "supernatural" event. Clarification in the Word yes, but the rest of it is all study. Seeking and being led by the Spirit. I would know nothing more than when I started if I wasn't moved to action, and that way I have been "in much".

So our ideas of the "rest" we receive are very different, I guess. If you believe you could through scripture bring in more "light" on the subject, I will listen. I have much to learn. Oh, how people love to hear that and try and turn it into I am unlearned or unskilled in the Word of the Lord but I assure you, I know enough to know I know almost nothing of Gods wisdom and knowledge.

The only reason I do not like the way you see "rest" is it promotes a lack of action or responsibility on our parts. And as you may have heard me say before

If the Holy Spirit did everything for Christians, and taught us all things, and we had no part in it, there would never be a single disagreement and we would already all be as one in Christ. No divisions. No interpretations that went against others, and there would be no more sin, no more need for repentance, no more need to ask for forgiveness, no need to be tested, no need to be corrected, and all we did was rest in what Christ has done, shoot, there would have been no need to give us free will at all. Just place a bunch of souls in a bunch of flesh and tell them how to act perfectly and bam, the only thing that would be lacking would be the TRUE LOVE you can only receive from a soul when it is their choice, their feeling, their desire.

you keep saying you have much to learn, yet you simply reject anything that goes against Hebrew roots.

so, in order to learn, you need to be willing to be proved wrong.

like I have done in the past with the silly notion that the Law is divided into parts...

I would say that it is the exact opposite, by resting in Him we have the resources to carry out our calling.

like I have done in the past with the silly notion that the Law is divided into parts...
Can you simply not quit?? Does the Spirit ever interrupt the flesh and scream "that is not of me"??

I have proven to you time and again, The commandments are IN the ark separated from the law of Moses on the side. The commandments were written by the hand of God. The law of Moses spoken to him. The commandments are written on stone, the law of Moses scrolls. The law is divided into parts by everyone except those who consider themselves "already perfect". Some were fulfilled, some were not. Some were commanded again by the NT some were not. The are separated by like almost EVERYway.

It is the letter of the law you return to time and again, as the Spirit of the Word eludes.

You keep SAYING it, yet you never prove it in the Word of God. Please don't give me the ever so weak
James 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
as "there it says it there" because it is not speaking as how to reference it.

Can you "see" this at all???
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Romans 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Romans 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.
Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

They are enemies for the sake of the gentiles. Do you get what that means at all?? All will be grafted back in. Remember the Abrahamic Covenant? Have you read on the happenings of the Millennium at all?

Then somehow the teaching is coming across as bad because it comes off as do nothing Jesus did it all rest in Him, and He did it perfect so I now have nothing to do with it and I am dead to the law, and the spirit that dwells in me does it all. It leads guides teaches without me having to do or be responsible for a thing.

What is your view as to what rest looks like?
Not trying to live with laws that I can't keep and breaking one and not being able to drop down and repent and have the blood of Christ and forgiveness but to have to carry that sin, along with the next one, along with the next one until the time I can take my without spot or blemish perfect animal to be killed for all the things I have failed at then walking away feeling guilty anyhow knowing there is no way for me to ever measure up to all I am supposed to be day after day after day and never being able to talk to God because I am in a state of sin more of the time than I am out of it and God can't hear a word I say except when I have no sin while everywhere I go there is something my flesh is wanting and I can not take control of it BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.

That is what I rest from. I have the Grace of God, the Sacrifice of Christ, the Holy Spirit to lead me, the blood to wash me clean upon repentance and the absolute guilt free feeling that my sins are completely forgiven because of the infinite value of the blood shed for it. That is my light yoke, my light burden, my rest in Christ everyday.

What does your rest look like??

I am sorry for the terrible reply. I know better than to just quickly write out something and post it. I will try again when I get a few minutes to do a better job. By the looks of it not until tomorrow though. Once again my apologies. No excuse.

Those who remain quarelsome remain babes and their work is burned but they will be saved through the fire.
Ironing the mesage:
Jesus gave us identity in His name, "I Am," the name of God. If we follow Him we will be like Him. "I Am with you always even to the end of the world." Most say I am, not knowing its God name given to us in fellowship with Him as we enter His presence with thanksgiving. He told us to pray in His name, in His identity and rellationship with the Fater.
The rebellion was wanting to be in charge: that I am is about me. "Love does not insist on own Way," "God is Love." Jesus who came from the Father without rebellion said, "I Am the Way the Truth and the Life." He sent His disciples to go in His Name: to teach us to dwell in His Love. It was prophesied that the mesage would be distorted by those desiring to be in charge; drawing disciples after them; keeping them from entering in Him. Those who are deceived to follow man remain babes and Will not enter His rest: will not have part in the first resurrection.

It is amazing.......how many people cannot grasp the absolute truth that we add NOTHING to being saved, justified, sealed and being sanctified positionally in Christ.....I mean......it is utterly a shame and a sham how many devalue Jesus, his work, his promises, his power, his ability to save by faith because of grace........

sometimes it takes more effort to relax and be still and rest than work hard.

sounds weird but i think we can all feel like that sometimes. its hard for me to just sit still with nothing to do. i think its same for many people to understand spiritually its rough. the narrow way of not-self effort

no, I will not quit telling the truth. the Law is not divided into parts. I understand why some think it is, but this thought process is based on assumptions, not facts.

so, you see, I can't just rip Leviticus 26 out of my Bible. I can't pretend that the greek word for law has a mostly plural meaning. I can't pretend that there is one single verse in the N.T. that instructs gentiles who became Christ followers to keep the Sabbath. I can't pretend that the Law was given to the whole world.

so, you asked " o.k, you accept Christ, then what? " well, I have an answer- follow the N.T. commands and instructions for Christ followers.

This seems to be very important to their belief system....separating out the law.
