that fact should probably give you pause ;)
The children that worshipped their father the devil gives me pause.
Some how when they tell me they have repented and came over to my side
I feel like they are lying to me.

Does that ever happen to you?

Ask yourself this question
could the reason there is so much division among believers is because
they are teaching the doctrines and commandments of men
and there is no anointing within them to teach them all things?
how about ask, what does the Bible say is the reason?
it's the revelation of God to us, after all.

From whence come wars and fightings among you?
come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
(James 4:1)

Matthew 6:34
Take therefore no thought for the morrow:
for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
(John 14:29)
the Greek word meaning 'thought' isn't in Matthew 6:34 at all.
it's merimnaó which means '
to be anxious'
do not be anxious about tomorrow; tomorrow will be anxious about/for itself.

would God tells us things He doesn't want us to give any thought to? why?

why is there so much division in the bbody of Christ when all have same bible?
You do not love one another as Jesus loves you.
love doesn't eliminate division.
He was sent because of the love of God, & He came and spoke a sword.

He will separate the goats to the left, and the sheep to the right.

...the Gospel of Christ is extremely profound, and that the Bible is, in essence, rather difficult to interpret correctly, throughout. To the point, that i find that the worse exegetes are those who claim that it's easy,
You got that right.

yes people lie to me, yes i sense it;
no i don't believe "
repentance" = "coming over to my side"
IMO that's poor phrasing; i don't have either possession or control over a '
side'

what do you think, if i were to hold a thought with which not one other professing believer of any religion agrees - can we calculate a probability estimator for whether that thought is true? just in an abstract sense, without ever defining the thought itself.
because i like math: because it is clear from beholding creation that God loves math.

can you help with that sort of thing . . ?

If that were true, and it isn't, God wouldn't have given us the rest of the Scripture.
John 3:16 by itself can be construed much differently than John 3:14-16 together. which means we also need Numbers 21. which means we also need Numbers 1-20. oh, and John 1:1 - 3:13, too, and every passage that connects to every passage in those. the more i look at scripture and examine it, the more it seems to be extraordinarily 'connected' in a graph-theoretical sense: all of it is interlaced to a very high degree, none of it being wholly separate from any other part, if all the paths between nodes were to be traced out.

amen

it is like the universe; the more we learn about it the more profoundly ignorant we realize that we are, as though every time we draw up water from the well the waters become deeper.

as though the same person who wrote this book also created the universe - these fingerprints, so familiar

Yes, that is correct. Wish more people knew this. Many believers do not read Scripture much, and many will never read their Bible through. Reading it through only once may mean that some books will be read through only that one time. More diligence is necessary in my opinion.

I recall someone saying that only carrying a NT is like having answers to a test, but not having the questions. Zane Hodges held to an errant view that if a verse washed up on a beach...well, read it for yourself.

It is plain and simple and right to the point
and there are NO exceptions no matter what whatsoever at all.

The doctrine of Christ is the only Salvation of God.

1 Timothy 4:16
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:
for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself,
and them that hear thee.

Ask yourself this question.
What is this doctrine that you can save not only your own self
but others that will hear you?

2 John 1:9
Whosoever transgresseth,
and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.
He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ,
he hath both the Father
and the Son.
...and what exactly is the doctrine of Christ. This thread looks like a rehash of the countless other threads on basic salvation principals.

Being that you and most all others have or have access to the word of God
ask yourself why is it there is so much division among people on this forum and
with most all believers on earth?
What is this division among the people of this forum that you have observed in the less than a week that you have been a member?

Well looky here, another scholar removing the simplicity of Christ and shutting out the Kingdom of Heaven against others. Glad to meet ya, scholar.
