1 Corinthians 15:24-28 King James Version (KJV)
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
King James Version (KJV)


Verse 24 say that there is a time when Jesus put down all the power He has. Is that make Him powerless?

Verse 24 is in reference to Jesus snuffing out the gentile kingdoms from power and authority.

Scripture reference:


Revelation 11:15 New King James Version (NKJV)
Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

The kingdoms of this world are taken out by the Lord and His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever.
This is also talked about in the prophetic book of Daniel:

Daniel 2:44
And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Daniel 7:27
Then the sovereignty, dominion, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heaven will be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will serve and obey Him.'

I think it may mean one or the other or both the rule authority power that is in this world or the absolute rule authority power will come down to the earth.

This is how I read it too ^ , except adding "the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death" ('for He must reign till He hath put all enemies under His feet').

Here are some other versions (verse 24):

Berean Study Bible -
Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority, and power.

Berean Literal Bible -
then the end, when He shall hand over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He shall have annulled all dominion, and all authority and power.

Young's Literal Translation -
then -- the end, when he may deliver up the reign to God, even the Father, when he may have made useless all rule, and all authority and power --

International Standard Version -
Then the end will come, when after he has done away with every ruler and every authority and power, the Messiah hands over the kingdom to God the Father.

New King James Version -
Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

Seem to me it was Jesus have authority of heaven and earth, than Father and Jesus reign together.

Yep, look like the statement that Jesus put on all power to the Father, do not mean Jesus do not have power anymore, it mean He and the Father reign together.

Since Jesus is God, He will never be powerless. However, there is a hierarchy of authority within the Godhead, and the Father is the Head or Authority over Christ (1 Cor 11:3). The Father has given all power and authority in Heaven and on earth to Christ (following His resurrection), but there will come a time when the universe will be in total subjection to the Lord Jesus Christ. At that point He will HAND BACK to the Father all power and authority, so that God will be "all in all". This is a rather mysterious and enigmatic concept, but it is what it is in Scripture.

Jesus will hand back the power to the father. Another verse say

Revelation 11:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Seem to me after resurrection Jesus in full power, than there will be a time Jesus hand back the power to the Father where Jesus and the Father reign together

Sorry N6, i don't mean to be so confrontational, but it is only enigmatic and mysterious because you made it so by your implausible and conflicting interpretation. Your exegesis is in error, and then you claim that the gospel of Christ is beyond making sense. If there is a hierarchy in the Godhead, then there is no equality, it was you who confused the issue not the word of God. Your attempt at explaining how one is given power, then hands it back to the one who gave it to him, so that God will be all in all, is just silly and not Godly wisdom, a baby can see the illogical rationale to that kind of reasoning. Jesus is not God, as only inferences and eisegesis can prove this, not explicit, didactic passages. So, the Bible does not say so, unless one prefers to be sloppy and frivolous with God's word. Jesus hands over the kingdom with the authority that God the Father gave him, because he had none to begin with. And it is with this power and authority that he destroyed all so-called powers and principalities on earth. Jackson, you also did a bad job at interpreting this passage, he is not handing over the power that God gave him back to God, he is destroying the secular powers that are against the Son of Man.

Ok, fair enough, ...but you implied the option, which i don't believe was anywhere close to the apostle Paul's meaning. Sorry, i don't mean to be abrupt about it all, but I feel it was a gross oversight to entertain that notion, very misleading (i don't believe that that was your intent, of course).

This question is from Muslim man, so I put it in this forum to help me tell them what is the verse mean.

Muslim do not believe Jesus is God and try to proof it from the Bible.

If he able to proof from the Bible that Jesus will powerless than he think he proff that Jesus is not God.

Because God power is eternal

There's nothing implausible or conflicting since I have Scriptures to back up everything I said. I simply did not quote them or make a lengthy dissertation. But if it gives your ego some satisfaction, you can keep on being confrontational.

I'm sorry, is it not conflicting for an eternal, omnipotent being to be handed power by another omnipotent and eternal being, and then to hand it back in order that all be one in all, sounds silly & redundant. Oh, and scripturally you're able to find the terms, three in one, two in one (natures of Jesus), God the son, hypostatic union, incarnate, trinity or triune, or anything remotely close??? Not even close, therefore it's called eisegesis. So it sounds extremely naive, impetuous and reckless to claim that you can prove it biblically. Even your leading proponents, all, without exception, state that it's not taught in the Bible but inferred. Does this sound like ego to you on my part, or prudent exegesis and respect for God's word?

He will put down all power needed to hold back those who oppose the gospel in perfect peace forever.

the word of God says to HIM is all Power authority, and glory forever and ever". That means for ever and ever
