Just because you're not doing all you could be doing doesn't mean you are negligent. "You're not being all you could be" is neither a sin nor a crime, and sometimes it is really not worth it. A lot of people think they would be happy if they had just a little bit more, or if they could do something they were not doing. And I know a lot of people who are really stressed out because they felt they were never enough.

Being able to weigh cost versus benefit is an essential ability when you are deciding how far up the ladder you will climb. And it's usually possible to climb far enough to be really unhappy.
The US Army used to have run a commercial on TV "Be, all that you can be, find your future in the Army". From my own personal experience I found that slogan to be true.

A lot of cranky old people are spoiled brats who grew up and found out yelling doesn't get you your own way nearly as good as when you were a kid, but they don't know anything else to fall back on.

Selfishness doesn't just kill trust, it sprays herbicide all over the ground so trust won't have any chance to grow.

If you decide what you want, or what you believe, and then go through the Bible trying to find support for that, you will find it. You will ignore everything that contradicts what you want to believe and find the one verse that you can take out of context and twist to fit what you want. People do it all the time, and trying to argue with them is like trying to help a person who is lost on the highway and won't take directions. "Good luck and I hope you don't wind up in a place that is too dangerous" is the best we can do.

I was getting a lesson from a golf professional. I hooked my tee shot into the forest. We spent half an hour looking for the ball.
But luckily, in the end , the profound the ball.

One bad joke deserves another...

The profound the ball? He must have been that 90 year old dude I played with the other day. I am nearsighted so I needed a golf partner who can see where the ball lands. They paired me with this 90 year old, but they said he had eyes like a hawk.

So on the first hole I teed off and hit a long drive. I couldn't see it, but my elderly partner said he saw it just fine. I asked where it landed. He said he forgot.

Don't be too quick to call anyone your best friend, allow hard times to introduce them 😊

I dont believe anyone reaches deep level friendship/companionship unless they have had a serious quarrel/fight. Problem is fights and arguments can divide us forever. But if we have the grace filled ability to get past that, it can become a real friendship.
Superficial friendships are based on us wearing our masks and not sharing our real thoughts.

Love is... knowing if you put the toilet paper on the roller the wrong way, your wife will start doing it herself, but putting it on the righth way because you know that is what she likes.

Also, putting the toilet seat down, after using it, so she doesn't fall in if she doesn't look first. 5thumbsup.gif

Life is like a jar of mixed nuts. You can hunt and pick out only the parts you like best, but you know you'll have to deal with the rest someday anyway, so it's better to just grab a handful and take it as it comes.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

I got curious about why people in fast food restaurants habitually clean up after themselves. I googled "How did fast food get customers to clean up" and the first two results were the following articles:

"Top Reasons Why Fastfood (sic) Customers Should Clean Up"

"Why You Should Stop Bussing Your Own Table"

This just proves what I have already suspected: On the internet you can find a viewpoint and an article to back up anything you want to believe. If you want to believe chocolate causes cancer, or all music is inherently evil, or vacuum cleaners will one day rule the world, you can find something online to back you up. Confirmation bias has never been so easy (and I can prove it with three articles I found online.)

Try living with people who don't even CHANGE the toilet roll, aka, my Dad! He just has a thing about it, and I don't know why. So annoying!!
And we all know men put it on the wrong way anyway, ha ha ;)
