What’s pitiful is you adding to Scripture. What’s also pitiful is your blindness thinking that we who understand we are saved by grace through faith don’t do any works. Pride comes before the fall. Beware.
Oh and theres more,

“Why do you call me ‘Master, Master,’ and not do what I tell you?
Luke 6:46
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 7:21
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has belief but does not have works? Can that belief save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also belief by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have belief and I have works.” Show me your belief apart from your works, and I will show you my belief by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that belief apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that belief was active along with his works, and belief was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by belief alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For as the body apart from the airflow is dead, so also belief apart from works is dead.
James 2:14-26
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a foreigner and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.
Matthew 25:34-36
does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, commits no robbery, gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment… walks in my statutes, and keeps my judgments to deal faithfully, he is righteous, he shall surely live, declares Yehovah God.
Ezekiel 18:7-9
…Practice hospitality.
Romans 12:13
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
1 Peter 4:9
and having a reputation for good works: if she has brought up children, has shown hospitality, has washed the feet of the set-apart ones, has cared for the afflicted, and has devoted herself to every good work.
1 Timothy 5:10
Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27
Honor widows who are truly widows. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show godliness to their own household and to make some return to their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God.
1 Timothy 5:3-4
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the Torah, judgment, mercy, and belief: these you have ought done, and not to leave the other undone.
Matthew 23:23
And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit aeonial life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Torah? How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Master your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Yeshuah, “And who is my neighbor?” Yeshuah replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Yeshuah said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
Luke 10:25-37
You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am Yehovah.
Leviticus 19:18
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the goods of the world and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in action and in truth.

1 John 3:16-18

But rather give alms to the poor of such things as ye have; and behold, all things are clean to you. But woe to you, Pharisees! for you tithe mint, and rue, and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these you ought have done, and not to leave the others undone.

Luke 11:41-42

Bring no more offerings, incense is vain, and an abomination unto me are your new moons, shabbaths, and calling of convocations, I cannot endure lawlessness in your assemblies. Your new moons and your appointed times my soul hates: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary of bearing them. And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash yourself, make yourself clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do good; seek judgment, rebuke the oppressor, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Oh and theres more,

When Yeshuah heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell as much as you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Luke 18:22
And Yeshuah, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell as much as you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Mark 10:21
Sell your possessions, and give to the poor. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.
Luke 12:33
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Master, “Look, Master! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” Yeshuah said to him, “Today deliverance has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

Luke 19:8-9

Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.
Ezekiel 16:49-50
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the aeonial fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a foreigner and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ “They also will answer, ‘Master, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ “Then they will go away to aeonial punishment, but the righteous to aeonial life.”
Matthew 25:41-46
They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,
1 Timothy 6:18
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9
For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his namein serving the set-apart ones, as you still do.
Hebrews 6:10
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16
Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.
Luke 12:33-36
Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good works and glorify God on the day of visitation.
1 Peter 2:12
For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.
1 Peter 2:15
Yeshuah said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Matthew 19:21

But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good.

Oh boy! You really took a hold of all that by giving out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. You da man!

Now back to reality. You read time and again in the gospels that Jesus told people they were healed and were saved according to their faith. He said go and sin no more.

Jesus also teaches us to let our light shine before others. That is to glorify God, not to achieve and maintain salvation.

Here is something to cheer you up Mr. Lightskin while these workers try to lay guilt on those who have truly understood our Saviour.

Hey PennEd, are you hungry? I’ll make you a sandwich. At least that will keep me saved for another day or two until you’re hungry again. Then it’s lights out.

Anyone who denies the necessity to do good works is not doing good works. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
I would call it like it is, but get rebuked by @Oncefallen for calling a spade a spade......but carry on with your judgmental attitude...like I said, you will not last long here pal......

Let us see how well things turn out for you thinking you only needed belief and not works. I will leave it at that, I've already proven works are required through many scriptures. Whoever wants to listen, let him listen, and blessed be he, but whoever doesn't want to listen, well, he will find out the hard way that good works were indeed required.

Your mouth speaks pride and condescension. FYI, I serve terminally ill people, praying with them, spending quality time with them, providing peace, comfort and hope as they prepare to enter their new life.

I laugh with people, cry with people and offer them the only Hope in all existence, the saving grace of Jesus Christ. And not for nothing but there are a heck of a lot more people on this chat site that do a heck of a lot more than that. But I digress, go make a sandwich while casting unfounded judgment upon others.

Who have I accused? I have only stated a truth, but if you feel accused, then perhaps you yourself fall under one of those.
How about this statement .... this is just outlandish accusation

What is truly sickening is that you think you have no obligation to give food to someone who is begging you for food.

You’ve proven nothing other than being prideful. Jesus’s words of salvation by believing in Him are straight forward and very clear. Whoa to you for causing stumbling blocks and placing burdens upon others.
