There is a lot of political talk about taxing big companies and taxing the rich today.
People need to understand a simple fact.
Any time taxes are increased on any company, that tax is passed on to the consumer.
Every company or business has a certain amount of profit that it must make to remain in business.
If that profit is not made, the business will close.
Same can be said of the rich.
They decide how much they need each year to continue their lifestyle and will find a way to make it.
Any increase in taxes, guess who will pay, the consumer.
I ran my own business for 47 years and every year I determined how much money I need to make to make the 60-70 hours a week I worked worthwhile and set my prices accordingly.
When cost went up, whether cost of product, labor, TAXES, my prices went up accordingly.
Everything the government promises to give you has a price and that price will ultimately be pay by you the consumer.
You clearly don't understand what the gov. means by taxing the "rich" I am a supervisor for a retail company that owns 25 retail stores. net profit around 20 million. In which the Gov. considers a " mom and pop" company. The companies that the Government is referring to is companies like Walmart that net incomes exceed 3 billion dollars annually...
You missed the point of the thread.
Regardless of the size of any company, any tax increase will be passed on to the consumer.
As a supervisor you know that or at least should know.
The government is not referring to any one, it is certain people that are running for president.
Now if you believe that only the Walmarts will be taxed by these people, you are deceiving yourself.
20 million a year is not peanuts and not a "mom and pop" company.
You do realize that the Gov. is taxing us , the mom and pop Corps. instead of the Billionaires. that was my point of the matter...
I know very well that the government is taxing us but they are also taxing Walmart.
Walmart's tax rate in 2017 was 30% and that dropped to 19% in 2018.
Now I will say that the drop does not seem fair, but it is what it is.
In 2018, 60 of the largest companies in the USA paid no taxes on pre-tax income of 79 billion dollars.
And this is wrong.
But they only took advantage of a very complex tax code passed by congress.
The whole tax thing is a mess but I still believe that all taxes are ultimately paid by the consumer.
Just wonder why there is this belief that corporations need to be taxed to begin with?
Just wonder why there is this belief that corporations need to be taxed to begin with?
Well, here n America. That is how things are done. Where are you from?
I don't see why the "Rich" should be taxed even more then they are considering they already are being taxed 20% more then majority of the people with incomes lower then 27k. Considering the fact that they also work for the money they earn why would it be considered fair to make them pay more, just because they have more.
This is one of the sources:

My point was they already pay a lot and it should not be considered ok to charge people that have more, just for that very reason.
People who are poor always seem to have this mentality that the rich are keeping the wealth from them when in reality it is themselves that are stopping the wealth from coming to them by making terrible financial decisions. like maxing out credit card allowance, taking out a loan to buy a car, or a mortgage to buy a house that they can't fully afford ... you get the gist.
My point is that the rich pay no taxes!!! And the money that they make is off the sweat of OUR brow... and I was asking you to look up Fact Finders that was created By a billionaire and does'nt make 1 dime in profits from this...
Where is your proof that the rich pay no taxes?
If you do not like to work for the evil rich, just quit.
Stop the continuous complaining and quit.
Seems that a lot of people in this country live without working.
There is always room for one more to lives off the sweat of the working man that appreciates having a job.
