Ahh narcissism, know it to well, both parents are narcissist, brother as well, also met so many female narcissist, it took me years to figure out who these people were and why I was attracting them. Stay right away from them at all costs, they are toxic and damaging to your mental and physical health.

... we dont pray to Mary. We dont worship Mary. She is an intercessor.
Some Catholic churches dedicate the whole month of May to Mary, chanting the Hail Mary seemingly incessantly, which IS a prayer to Mary. Mary is not an intercessor. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. Some Catholics will tell you that you have to go through Mary to get to Jesus. Mariology within Catholicism is deeply disturbing. Both papal ex cathedra proclamations concern her, and three of four Marian dogmas that many take exception to (because they are seen as being completely ungrounded in Scripture) are: the immaculate conception; the perpetual virginity of Mary; and the bodily assumption of Mary to heaven.

:censored: I don't want to turn this into a debate about the RCC now. I don't believe that dead saints can hear us. They're waiting for the reresection now. And all people born agian in Christ, are saints.

Yea that is bazaar like smoke raising from a roof top when they choose a new pope and people crying about it, unbelievable.

Apologies for my lack of Apologist talent for Catholicism. I myself am having serious doubts about the credibility of Church hierarchy. A priest in our city comitted suicide this year after a sex molestation scandal was about to break. Just another nail in the coffin for our ecver diminishing reputation. There are good people in the Church living the gospel. My father lived the Gospel. Thats the main thing in my view.

one person's experience does not automatically equate into another person's experience

this is a 'Christian' forum and the BDF exemplifies the differences more than than the similarities...prob because this is a platform with diverse personalities from many places and not a church on the corner where the neighborhood goes

I do not understand the need to object to something by filtering through personal experience, with the sketchy observation that appears to be that it is everyone's experience

lately, there seems to be a prejudice against Messianics...with some saying they are all the same and refusing to acknowledge grabbing the biggest widest brush that you can does no one justice, including the person holding said brush

and of course all Catholics must pray to Mary and worship her...well no, they do not....and I know that from knowing actual Catholics

I'm too tired after a long day...make that a long week...to get into it, but it's tiresome

The RCC that I was raised in taught temporary salvation through the sacraments. As well as the Lord dosn't hear the prayers of sinners so they must pray to Mary instead. I have no issue with most catholics because it's not there faults that we were taught wrong. The Vatican should know better though.

ok

Of course you should realize that 1/2 of my family were catholics for life. I certainly do love and pity them mostly becuse few have ever tried to read the whole Bible or New testament for that matter from Matthew to at least Jude. They have told me it's too complicated and we shouldn't do it without at least the help of a Priest. When I asked some Priests some difficult questions they couldn't or wouldn't answer, they simply replied that it was a sacred mystery that only the Pope could understand. So I started reading the Bible and praying for help.

In 8 years of catechism and 2 years of Catholic High School. Where we were required to attend a religion class every day. I never went to an orderly Bible study or was encouraged to read it. Only the daily missal.

you know, this op was not about who is or was or wants to be Catholic

totally off course

and no surprise there

someone is Catholic...so what?

we must immediately fire missiles at them and make them just like us

I would rather Jesus does the job but too many here want to have safety in numbers and create little mes

end of rant

Regarding catholicism it seems to be a comfort for many people but unfortunately there can be extremes in that church that are quite disturbing. But then thats the same for other churches too.

The main difference seems to be Catholicism doesnt trust its members to read the Bible on their own. They want to dictate how its taught and they have hierarchy. Most ordinary christians just see Jesus as the head of the church as its stated in the Bible, but the catholics insert the pope in that position. Then its Mary, and Jesus comes third.

I had a catholic workmate who I used to be friends with, but she abruptly broke it off. Why because she co pared herself to everyone else I think the main thing was, because she wasnt married like all her catholic peers were she kept telling me she was considering becoming a nun. I dont know if she has now entered the convent but I havent heard from her in about 2 years now. Her family did go to the Vatican at one stage to be blessed by the pope. To me, hes just an ordinary man, hes not God.

The Pharisee, the classic narcissist? Who prays to Himself.
