Bless you and guide you always.
Our church family supports a couple in Pakistan, who has faced some real persecution for their ministry. And a family in Thailand, which is a little more open country, but they still have challenges for sharing the faith.
I'm in Somalia, i have been for the last 6 years. I have long lost contact with my former church and i don't think i will be making a comeback at any church. I just walk and walk and hope too.

No, Paul doesn't contradict himself at all, just misunderstanding either from you or me but i reckon it is from you.
Let's have a look one more time.

Rom 2:
5But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” a 7To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11For God does not show favoritism.

12All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.
Amen. We all, especially church-goers, will be held accountable for our deeds and behavior in that Day.

God determines whether we are a Christian by what we do (our choices, our deeds, our actions), not by what we say we believe in. Never does God judge or reward anyone by their doctrine or statement of faith or what they claim to believe in.
He judges and rewards all men according to our works. (Psalm 62:12, Prov 24:12, Jer 17:10, Jer 32:19, Eze 33:20, Lam 3:64, Matt 16:27, John 5:29, Rom 2:6, Rom 14:12, 2 Cor 5:10, 1Pet 1:17, Rev 20:12, and Rev 22:12 among many other passages.)

Sadly, many have been taught that John 3:16 or Rom 10:9-10 somehow negates the Truth that they must repent and walk worthy and pleasing to God, else they will forfeit their inheritance in the Kingdom, and may even face expulsion into "outer darkness."

I am shocked to see some in this forum state that we cannot be pleasing to God... for indeed the Scripture commands that we live and behave properly that we might be found "pleasing to God."

Looked at this in-depth as I taught in my church from two recent Studies -

Romans 8 Study (part 6) PLEASING GOD, and 1Corinthians 10 (part 7) PLEASING TO HIM, if you, or any are interested.

God's Wisdom and Understanding to us all.

Ok, no worries. Good for you

Heb 9:28so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.

Heb 5: 9And having been made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.
Yes , I so eagerly await for Him , for He is my Salvation , without Him where can we go , without Him , there is no Salvation , Oh yes , for I am hidden in Christ , where is Christ , yes He is in heaven , sitting on the right hand side of His Father...

I am IN Him , and He is IN me \:love:/...

First of all you stated somewhere that we are rewarded with eternal life.... wrong eternal life is a gift

Secondly, this passage is not giving instruction on the way of salvation but the way the saved conduct their lives.

Paul does not contradict himself.
Ephesians 2: 8-10
I was wrong here, went back to reread the entire chapter.

Okay @Noose let me explain you need to follow Paul's thinking through then entire chapter and the case he is building.
See my next post.

For sure though Paul does not contradict himself and eternal life is a gift not based on our works.

Friend, even if you must walk alone, never compromise the Truth of God. There IS a remnant of those who have not fallen under the "great delusion" that God has brought upon the churches because of their disobedience and rejection of His Word to repent and overcome sin.

"Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. 25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? 26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. 27 But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.” - Luke 9:23-27

May we be found denying our carnal nature and fleshly attitudes today, that God will be pleased with us, and give us a greater portion of the Bread of Life.

The True Hope I have found in the Word is quite different than what most have taught to believe today by "pastors" with "ear-tickling" messages that are more myth and wishful thinking than Bible.

This is my HOPE - A Disciple's Hope

God bless you and keep you and guide you, friend.

It is simple.

God is love. Love is not an entity seated somewhere in space waiting to condemn people but the very essence of our hearts, everyone's heart as a command.

No one can claim to believe in love and worship love by thinking about love, the one who expresses it by doing is the one who believes in love.

Saying you believe in God by thinking is detrimental; i'm not going to expound on this for now.

Correct but be sure to remain in Him:

John 15:
3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

5I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.

9As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love. 10If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. 11I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.12This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

The English language tends to limit Faith to the mind, to belief, to the emotions, and confidence or trust. And it leaves the "Will", to another word which is "obedience". The King James thus sets free, Faith from Works. The Greek did not allow that. You didn't have "Pistis" (Faith) until you added the "Will" and hung the body in continuing action on what the mind believed and what the heart had confidence in. It was an expression of the "Whole Man". That continuing action is the corresponding verb pisteuo, a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender.

This is the reason the "believers" and " obedience" crowd argue against each other. Because of the mistranslation of pisteuo, and neither are correct.

Does that cancel this:

Rom 2:7To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

And, believing is not about thoughts anyway but action. The one who loves/obeys has believed and not the other way round.
The context of the passage is how God will not show favoritism to the Jews when He Judges the world.... and certainly Paul is NOT stating good works bring eternal life.

Believers , those who are saved keep our Lords commandments , we have a new will and desire...
Those who claim to know Christ but do not follow Him by keeping His word are leeches on the branch , they are the ones who are removed and thrown into the fire...

This is the reason the "believers" and " obedience" crowd argue against each other. Because of the mistranslation of pisteuo, and neither are correct.
Ecc 12:13When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man. 14For God will bring every deed into judgment, along with every hidden thing, whether good or evil.

I get your point about mistranslation, but it is way deeper than obedience and pisteou because salvation is about creation of the heavens and earth. It is said, by God's command, the heavens and the earth were created and God says, "i have put my words in your mouth to establish the heavens and earth and to say to Zion you are my people"

By disobedience, the heavens and earth pass away. So it is the word of God in you that lives (eternal life) for those that keep the word of God (God's commandment), and these shall inherit the earth. When it is said that the heavens and earth were created by God's command, it doesn't mean God commanded air or darkness but established His word in the heart of a man. And that's it.

IMO, many people are afraid to even say 'works' understandably because the bible clearly says we are not saved by our works.

But Jesus did many works including dying for our sins through obedience. Jesus always said that the works He did are not of His own but the Father. And it is through these works that He remained in the love of the Father and the Father in Him and thus was saved, setting an example for us - the bible says:

Heb 5:7During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence. 8Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered. 9And having been made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.

This is what it means to remain in Him as He remained in the Father; to obey Him.

The context is obedience, same as this one and many more:

Heb 5:7During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence. 8Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered. 9And having been made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.

IOW, the one who perseveres to the end shall be saved.

Wrong

You sure do simplify scripture and Paul's critical reasoning with his audience to make your false teaching work
