Have you ever been stalked?

Not a nice thing to deal with.
What did you do?

God gave me some wisdom in Proverbs 19:23

I’ve never been stalked, but I know others who have been stalked. It’s so awful.

I had one.it was crazy. After i went to another school and had him blocked everywhere he still reaches me from different accounts abou every half year or so.
My best friends case was way worse tho...i was able to get her to go to the police just a few weeks ago after this has been going on for like 2 years. Threats, showing up, waiting outside her apartment, sending her flowers and gifts, trying to force himself on her... long story

One time, early in the morning, like 5 a.m. I was walking down my street to State St. A black guy was walking up my street on the other side in the opposite direction. I looked back and he had crossed the street and was now following me towards State St. He followed me on State St for awhile, then must've gotten bored cuz I led him on a wild goosechase and he finally went away..

I've not been stalked, but I think someone I knew may have had the potential. We'd spoke for a year or more. She developed an interest in me, but I didn't feel the same. Then I entered into a relationship with a different woman and ended up moving to be closer. So I told the original woman I didn't feel comfortable staying friends with her, while in a relationship. Especially since I was moving to the same state she was in.
She spent over a year writing letters to my dad asking him to send them to me, hoping I'd get in contact with her. When I found out I was pretty creeped out. Fortunately it never went further.

But back then I did know two other women who had been stalked. One of them twice. The one that was stalked twice, by different men, years apart, was fortunate that each man was caught and arrested before any violence happened against them.
The second, however, was cornered and had her arm cut with a large knife.
She knew someone with a very bad past. And her stalked was discovered having "killed himself" with blood splattered all over the room...
Scary stuff indeed.

She told him a thousand times to leave her alone. He wont stop. Flowers or not if someone tells u to stay away and u keep pushing it and wait at the apartment at 5am to catch her ur sick. If course stalkers try EVERYTHING to get their victims even things that in normal circumstances is ok...but not in such

Thats extreme.
I would ignore the stalker as much as possible and change apartments if possible.

A stalker has never given me flowers but I did get fishnet stockings. Ugh. I just chucked them in the bin. What else am I meant to do with them.

For someone thats waiting outside an apartment you just take a photo of them and send it to the police and say this guys harassing me. Dont be afraid to report them. They can then be arrested if they trespass or are near your property.

What I would find creepy is if they are trying to peek in your window. But you can always, if they are near window or door, just chuck a bucket of water over them. They probably need a cold shower.

Well... while we’re on the subject about stalkers... I hate to say it but I had one that was on HERE... part of the reason why I changed my name from my original (you may not know who I was but my name was Littlebit1987) but this guy wouldn’t stop talking to me, now to be fair I had become friends with him... nothing crazy OR romantic about it, then I got too busy to keep up with him.... and then he started spam emailing me. And did so for months. Just till recently and I haven’t heard from that person in like a week now. *knocks on wood*.

I reached out to the admins to get this person off my back and leave me alone, but the person had already closed out their account and was just emailing me all the time. I literally just cleaned out my spam box every other day and there were TONS of emails back to back. Thankfully that’s over with and I can move on with my life.

Crazy huh?

It sure is. And I had experience again with a friend of mine, which was much older than me. Actually a church friend and she had just lost her husband. And she was walking from church and I didn't know her that time. But I felt impressed to go and speak to her.

We started talking and she opened up about what happened. And so after service everyweek we would walk together and I take her to half way to her home with no feelings involved. And once she invited me to where she was staying and I went.

And there she spoke to me, and said. I should tell my parents about her and us. I got such a fright. Lol :)

She said, my parents might not be happy because she is much older than me. I never went to visit her again since that time.

But occasionally we would see each other at church. I was just trying to aviod her as far as possible. When church would be out. I would wait until everyone has left and only then will I walk home.

It was quite an experience. Many a times, they think it is love when in reality it is not love.

I met a man in my church years ago after my divorce that eventually did a 180 on me and I said we're done. That's when he started following me everywhere and calling not only me but my kids as well. I immediately started keeping a log of when he called (and got my phone number changed) as well as what he said; documented where he showed up at and if he said anything, as well as taking a picture of his vehicle parked next to mine in a couple different parking lots. He pulled out behind me on my street and I pulled across the street so he couldn't pass and jumped out with my camera and took pictures of him sitting behind me with his mouth hanging open. I was not going to live in fear and within less than 3 weeks I went to court for a protection order. Of course it's a piece of paper but he didn't have to be caught on my doorstep for me to call the police and they went looking for him. A few years later I found out he was in prison (not the first time) for having sex with a minor. He's in now till he's 75 years of age. People in the church knew about his previous arrest and never said anything to me even knowing I had teenage daughters.

Wow. What a incredible experience you had. You surely got wisdom from God on what to do. Sad that nobody said anything. But it still show the protection of God over your life.

Yea why dont people say anything. It they didnt warn you about the dangers then its on those people who knew and didnt DO anything about it if you came to harm.

I get mad about stuff like that its like would you let your own daughter go out with someone dodgy that you knew about? No way. So why, in church would you just think 'thats not my problem.'

What kind of shepherd just sees a wolf playing with a lamb and doesnt do anything about it.

Actually years back another Singles regular had the same problem and also had to change names to avoid a certain person. He was eventually banned but found a way around the ban and kept making new accounts.
