Do You Kill Insects?

As a Christian I cannot in good conscience kill a harmless insect just doing its own thing.

If they’re outside I simply let them be. If they’re inside I scoop them up and bring them outside.

That rule however does not apply to poisonous insects or mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are the scourge of the Earth and I kill them on sight.

I have one of these, if a fly or bug is in the house, it is a goner.
When driving I ask that he help me as I do not wish to hurt any of His creation.

i kill about 50 spotted lantern flies a day. We live in a quarantine zone. We have a tree species they really like.

I have heard that for every female killed, there will be 100 fewer next year. Yet another invasive Chinese transplant.

They are horrible and we are even told to kill them. They destroy certain trees and a real threat to crops.
 
Castle doctrine stands for human or animal. If the animal is in my home or near my home and is a threat to me, my family or my property then if I cannot peacefully remove the threat it will be met with deadly force.

Genesis 1:26 New International Version (NIV)
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Insects can be poisonous, venomous, carries diseases, cause illnesses, damage your property like termites and can cause infestations of your home that are really hard and expensive to remove. Harmless bugs also attract other bugs that see them as a food source. So it is probably a good idea to remove them peacefully if realistically obtainable because every creature has a purpose in your ecosystem ( in less of course the bug doesn't belong in your regions ecosystem then they can cause great damage). But if peaceful means isnt realistically obtainable or puts you and others in harm's way then just remove the threat with a good ole shoe or fly swatter.

Honeybees, bumble bees, flutterbys are exceptions. They are greatly needed to pollinate.

Hmm...…..may be a couple more, can't remember right now....

As for the rest...…...

I used to laugh at those old time RAID commercials where the insects saw the can and ran away screaming. 😀

Yes it will be blowfly season soon and they are a pain. Also I really hate cockroaches esp the large flying ones. You have to squash them because somehow insect spray doesn't seem to affect them.:eek:

Cockroaches are dang near IMPOSSIBLE to kill..

I have read Australia has the highest proportion of poisonous critters in the world, please be safe.
 
Depends on the insect. If I think it can bite me in any way, I kill it. Spiders, ants, mosquitoes, ect. If it’s like a cricket or a roach, I usually try to do a catch and release. If it means me no harm and I won’t accidentally cause it to attack me while defending itself, then there’s no real reason to kill it.
 
No! We actually feed the wild birds and the ants here, there is an ants nest near the clothes line, they get crumbs and pieces of food every morning. Have seen the odd spider in here too, which we leave alone, mosquitos and others who are out to harm is a different story of course.
