Hello Paulo, welcome to Christian Chat. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here. I see you are a female living in the Philippines and this is your first post. I am a 73 year-old retired preacher-missionary with some counselling experience. If I can help, I will.

Does He have something in there about keeping isolated and watching lots of you tube? If so, I’m golden.

More seriously, I feel like I am still trying to find whatever the heck my mission is. Not sure how proactive I need to be there or it something I should be actively pursuing now.

I was in that exact boat a few years ago. Literally, down to being by myself watching Youtube XD I actually talked about that in my testimony that I shared on this site

Oh your on that path as well? Its very similar to mine, with one major difference that I won't go into here. I am waiting patiently to see what the Lord has in store for me.

Hi!

Short answer to the question in the thread is no. Christ died for my sins and the life that I have lived is not worth Him dying for. He did this out of love and not because my actions merited it. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

My apologies as your title gave a specific question. No, is also my answer. I suppose knowing this inspires me to do better. Lord, help me. I am so in awe of His atoning sacrifice that I do not deserve.

Fair warning you may also find that if you ask 5 Christians the same question you get 7 different answers.

Oh yeah, I didn't really answer your question about whether or not the life I'm living is worth dying for, did I? XD I'd like to, though.

Honestly, that's not for me to say. If I were to say yes, then I'd be speaking in pride, elevating myself to a level that I do not deserve in the slightest. Though I am saved, I still fall and am far from perfect. I still have room to grow and more to do to bring glory to God according to His will. Yet, if I were to say no, then I'd be going against God's view of me; because, while I was still a sinner, He died for me. It would also ignore the work that God has done in my life thus far.

So, who can truly say if it was worth it? Only God has that power.

The obvious answer is no. But Christ didn't die because we are worthy. Quite the opposite. He died because we're unworthy and in need of grace.

If you're only looking for church pros for help, perhaps they asking at a church instead.

"If value is made
By the price that was paid
Then His blood
Made a treasure
Of me"

A thing is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. And sometimes the value can't be seen except in the buyer's mind. When God moved into my life I was a real fixer-upper. But God started renovating a few things... Now my life DOES have value. Maybe not yet equivalent to the price paid for it, but then God's still renovating a few things.

Oh, and I'm a pentecostal minister if you still need help with stuff. Though it would help to know what "stuff" entails.

Also, unless there is an overriding consideration, it would probably be best to keep conversations here in open forum threads instead of private messages or off-site venues. Indemnity totally rocks, for all parties.

You the author of...

If not, do you know who is? This is beautiful. All of what you said resonates. Thank you, Sir.

It's an old song. I can't find it on youtube, but I have it in my collection by George Younce as "He Loves Me."

He loved me
Because He loved me
I resisted Him all the way
He sought me
Because He loved me
No price was too big to pay

And the heart he would win
Had been wasted by sin
But He redeemed it at Calvary
And if value is made
By the price that was paid
Then His blood made a treasure of me

As ages
Pass into eras
And eons to eternity
In praise I'll be lost
At the marvelous cost
And the love that made Jesus love me

It is a bit of a trick question as our worth and Christ's sacrifice are not linked. We try so hard to either seem worth or judge others as unworthy. God's love is so beyond our comprehension. We read about it and sing about it but the reality is earth shaking. We are not good enough, never have been and never will be. I am so grateful that his salvation was not doled out in terms of being deserving, otherwise we as a species, would be toast. No one is worthy of the death of the son of God. Live a life of gratitude. Live your obedience as a celebration. Speak honestly with God. Listen with your full attention. Sit quietly and watch a sunset from a dock on a lake/river/ocean and let tears of thankfulness race down your cheeks, or let the wonder of it fill your soul. We awed by the everyday miracles around you. Be blessed. Be a blessing. Don't miss the point. It was about his love. Thank him. Just thank him.

Sorry for the typos. "worthy" no "worth". "Be" awed, not "we" awed.
