So @Macabeus you are saying that @gb9 's argument was insanely good?

When used informally "insane" as a superlative typically means that it is impressive, extraordinary, beyond expectations, we can plainly see you are not lazy and were able to retrieve the definition for us. Thank you!

So you are promoting @gb9 argument as reaching a genius level of knowledge and understanding, in that case I would be most appreciative if you stated that my arguments were "insane" as well.;)

yes its always something.

you know the story of republican and pharisee? of course you do. in that story when you look one verse before it says when Jesus returns shall he find faith? so that says to me that works salvation or self righteous people could be worst off. Jesus gave them most punishment in His ministry time on earth. He said even sodom would be better off than some of them. harlots would go first into kingdom over pharisees.
Eternally Grateful was talking about me. Are you saying I’m self righteous

And it’s publicans, not Republicans. 🙂

I emphasize grace in salvation, as does the Bible. That is the opposite of self righteous

And eternally grateful and DC were talking about a post where I quoted 1 John 3:6 almost word for word.

Are you going to believe them or the bible
Yeah the fact that I believe the Bible comes out sooner and later

Correct. No one is sinless. But your definition of repent is correct. And as long as we are abiding in Christ, we will not practice sin

Notice I said as long as we are abiding. I did not say anything about maintaining or earning salvation.
@Melach

Here is the post DC and EG were talking about. (The one with ‘as long as were abiding’)

Read what I said and then read 1John 3:6 and tell me what I said differs from 1 John 3:6

It’s funny how people like DC and EG laugh at people for quoting the Bible. 🙄

So since you NEVER say anything of substance, why don’t you tell me what’s wrong with the post above@Lightskin?

If you want to critique it too, Undergrace, feel free

I suggest if you decide to critlqe it, you read 1John 3:6 first
No.

Whats the difference between what I said and what 1 John 3:6 says

Do you know what a durative present is? Google it
Mr. Mac you are funny!!

If I exegete 1 John 3:6 ... I am really hoping you will tell me that it is "insane" as in beyond expectations like you did for @gb9 ;)

No one who abides in Him sins (durative or continous progressive present tense) , no one who sins (durative present tense verb) has seen Him or known Him

1 John 3: 6.

This is not talking about sinless perfection. It is saying that people who abide in Christ do not practice sin as a way of life

Notice the topic is abiding, so don’t talk about works salvation. Again, please

And this is a descriptive phrase not a prescriptive one. In other words it is not saying what we need to do to abide in Christ, rather it is DESCRIBING a person who is abiding

Thouroughly Biblical
