Are you speaking of the verses such as John 3:16 and Romans 10:13 and any other verse that has the word whosoever? If I am understanding right are you asking that when the bible says whosoever shall..., is it possible that there are exceptions to the rule? For instance using Romans 10:13 where "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved", are you asking if one could have called on the name of the Lord but not be saved?
Precisely. So when the Bible uses whosoever, there are no exceptions. It means the same as “everyone who”

So when the Bible says whosoever does not practice ( that’s what diets means KJV) righteousness is not born of God, it means that everyone who does not practice righteousness is not born of God. It can also be stated “If a person does not practice righteousness, they are not born of God

Two things.

1. This is not sinless perfection. It is speaking of what marks our overall lifestyle, love to God and neighbor or sin and rebellion

2. It is a descriptive, not a prescriptive statement. That is, it is not saying we practice righteousness in order to be born of God, but rather it is a result of being born of God, or a DESCRIPTION of one who is born of God

Peace

The only thing I can think of is either you don’t live in the US or you don’t get to associate with people outside of a narrow, tight circle much

Believe it or not, insane can mean really good in some corcles
I guess it’s just a cultural, linguistic disconnect. Makes me wonder where you, DC, and the people who thumbs upped DCs post live.

Well DC lives in Missouri. I checked. You would think he knows the informal use of the word insane to mean shocking or outrageous or even preposterous. Very common here in the states. Makes me wonder. 🤔

Is it time for you guys to stop the silliness yet?

If I don’t reply to your club anymore, I’m not running away. I’m bored with the poor argumentation here. Tudaloo

Correct. No one is sinless. But your definition of repent is correct. And as long as we are abiding in Christ, we will not practice sin

Notice I said as long as we are abiding. I did not say anything about maintaining or earning salvation.
@dcontroversal

What text about abiding we’re you laughing at? 😂😂

Oh you mean THIS ONE where I said as long as we’re abiding in Christ we won’t PRACTICE sin

So you mean those who are practicing sin, living a lifestyle of sin are abiding in Christ? Total denial by you of 1 John 3:6

Read 1 John 3:6.

You just keep falling flat on your face

Dude, what Bible are you reading?

So Bill I answered your question...when are you going to answer mine

Why did Paul speak of self control to Felix if all Felix needed to repent of was unbelief?

How do you define the word sin in 1John 1:8?

What is the purpose of the Law in Romans 3:20?

What is Gods wrath revealed from heaven against in Romans 1:17 and forward?

Thanks in advance.

For the cronies who will say “ why you focusing on sin?” (Eternally grateful), Bill asked me what the Holy Spirit convicts of.
You haven't that I can see

Sin is transgression of the Law.
And Him that knows to good and does it not to him it is sin.

When does one know? Is the knowing in the knowledge or in the recollection?

see, unlike you, I do not care what you call me. it does not bother me. I am not compulsive and obsessive .
I didn't CALL YOU anything.

Saying your arguments insane (as in outrageous) is not the same as calling you names.

Let me help you...

quote- Tommorow. I can throw in GB9’s INSANE strawmen too. He’s a riot.

INSANE STRAWMEN. I called your strawmen insane. Do you know what a strawman is?

straw man
/ˌstrô ˈman/
noun
noun: strawman
  1. 1.
an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.
"her familiar procedure of creating a straw man by exaggerating their approach"

    2.
a person regarded as having no substance or integrity.
"a photogenic straw man gets inserted into office and advisers dictate policy"

You could claim I meant definition 2, but that would show you don't know the difference between singular and plural. (I said STRAWMEN, PLURAL, not strawman)

    Definition of insane
