Just make up your mind you "ain't gonna do that no more!"
And, walk away from it!
And know! To the "gene depth" level?
God will NEVER leave, nor forsake you!
Hold on to THAT! TIGHTLY! Even if you have to say that to yourself, over and over, and over!

Mine wasn't homosexuality. It was cocaine, and crack cocaine though.

Thank you. Yes, I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I have accepted Him as that. I just struggle so badly and I feel that I just cannot go on at times. I never really had a father or mother figure growing up, so I had to basically learn right from wrong on my own. Unfortunately, I've done more wrong than right. I just hope that Jesus stays with me. Thanks for your encouragement.
You say you struggle huh? Welcome to the club. We ALL struggle. We still inhabit our dead flesh.
Think on this:

A ship sinks in the open ocean. Most people have drowned, and are floating very still, but a few are flailing about and struggling.

Which group of people are alive? The still ones, or the struggling ones?

The very fact that you still struggle proves that the Lord has not abandoned you.
Be at peace.

I think I get it logically that if I am depraved and reprobate that I would not even think of God or much about Him. My problem with being a Borderliner with black and white thinking, all good, all bad, tends to make me think otherwise. I'm trying to grasp and catch hold of what many of you have said about this, I will try and put it into practice. Mentally, I'm afraid I'll snap again at some point. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, along with the encouragement. Cologne

Romans 1 teaches that God gives up men burning in their passion for one another to a depraved and reprobate mind. Does this mean God has given up on me as a homosexual, not currently practicing but did it a lot, to my own shame and great sorrow?
Hi Cologne, the Apostle Paul wrote this to/about Christians in the Church at Corinth (be sure to take special note of what he says about them in the opening of v11).

1 Corinthians 6
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 Such ~were~ some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

The Lord told us that, "all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter" .. Mark 3:28 (except for the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which you did not commit), so it is the impenitent alone for which there is no hope. Quite frankly, if the Lord "gave up" on sinners, the New Earth would have no inhabitants.

But God hardly did that, yes .. e.g. Romans 5:8-10.

Praying for you!

Keep reading Scripture. Focus on Scripture in which God promises to bring us through trials in life. Let the words sink into your heart so that when you are faced with temptation, you have God's Word in your heart. God can bring increase so that you are able to overcome and not "snap again":

1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Thessalonians 3:3-5 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

James 4:7-10 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

1 Peter 5:6-11 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Today is an especially hard day, I am so ashamed and feel guilty for all rhe bad I have done in my life. I just don't want to be here any longer. I don't know what the Lord will do with me, I just so much believe that He has long given up on me, once knowing the faith and then turning from Him into my depraved lifestyle and now trying to come back to Him, perhaps there are no remissions for my sins any longer. I just want to give up, if Hell awaits, then so be it I guess, I just don't know anymore.

Cologne, listen to me. You are just having a bad day. We all have those.

Try to ignore the "accuser" who is accusing you. Then you will be an overcomer.

Are you afraid your sins are so great that God will never forgive you?

If so, I have good news for you! God loves you, and Jesus Christ gave His life for you. Don’t stay away from Him any longer, but open your heart and life to Him today. God’s promise is for you: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Do you not believe Jesus paid the price?

If you do not think God will forgive you, in effect, it implies that Christ's death was not enough to pay for all sin.

It is as though you are saying, “Maybe His atonement covers the sins of the rest of the world. But Jesus’s death cannot cover this.” You have made your particular sin out to be uniquely bad and Christ’s payment to be inadequate.

What a far cry this is from the truth!

If any sin is an exception to God’s forgiveness, then Scripture lies because it declares, “Everyone who calls upon the name of the LORD will be saved” (Acts 2:21). No exceptions!

You cannot name a sin that Jesus did not die for.

You are ashamed and feel guilty for all the bad you have done in your life, but when someone gives you good counsel, you react with indifference.

The Scripture posted in Post #25 are promises you can hold to when you feel guilty and want to give up.

1 Cor 10:13 - look for the escape when you are faced with trials and temptations ... God promises to provide the escape. Look for it.

2 Thess 3:3-5 - God promises to establish us and keep us from evil.

James 4:7-10 - As we draw near to God, He draws near to us. As we humble ourselves before God, we are able to resist the devil and the devil will flee.

1 Peter 5:6-11 - As we resist the devil, the God of all grace works within us to perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle us.

Jude 1:24-25 - God is able to keep us from falling and present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.

These are not just idle words. These are great and precious promises to us from God Almighty.

Hold on to these promises. Hide these promises in your heart. Watch God work in your heart to bring increase so that you are able to stand and withstand in the evil day. Do not be indifferent to God's Word.

Romans 1 teaches that God gives up men burning in their passion for one another to a depraved and reprobate mind. Does this mean God has given up on me as a homosexual, not currently practicing but did it a lot, to my own shame and great sorrow? I beg and beg for Him to take the gay away, He hasn't and maybe that's the confirmation that He has given up on me.

I don't know what God knows, so I can't say for certain that he hasn't given up on you, but I don't think so.
You're right that you should try and desist from homosexuality but I'm not sure whether "the gay can be taken away". I honestly don't know where it comes from , but it's like any sin in that we can resist actually DOING it even if we still want to.
We've all got sins which we try not to do , but the temptation doesn't always go away entirely ,and then it's a test of your own faith.

I do know that there seem to be plenty of people here who love you and want to help and support you. I also know that you're a brave and good young man to listen to the voice of God when there are so many voices congratulating and encouraging sin of all sorts , including that one.

I think that the fact that you have challenged the popular culture on the question, even when you have been a victim of that temptation suggests that you will eventually overcome the situation.

I ask you this. If God has called to you, then is it likely that he's given up on you ? I shall pray that you find peace, which I think you will.

See how much more the people here care for you than those who defy God.

Have a look at the 'where there is remission of these.. there is no more sacrifice for sins ' ..

Check the context.. what kind of sacrifices are in this chapter ?

I think you'll find its animal sacrifice..

So if some one trips up in sinning.. they can't go back to the OT system of sacrificing animals to please God. Jesus is the ultimate lamb of God.

Perhaps I am just happy in some way with my misery. I need to grab onto those verses and the counsel here and not be indifferent. Right now, the inner child has come out with the Borderline feeling very abandoned and having a great need to be punished and disciplined. I'm on a waiting list for a trauma clinic, but the wait times are long. Experienced a lot of trauma as a child but have not gone to therapy for that. We'll see. Cologne, you need to stop being indifferent!

Times are changing .Humbling times like never before picking up speed.. Makes me wonder when he does come will he find His faith working in the hearts of men (Luke 18:18) or the 3 avenues of the father of lies like in the says of Noah ?

Three finger pointing back . . .one law giver the just and justifier.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

The god of this world is a murderer from the beginning .He hates the human race. Abortion or other means like homosexuality is a means to the end. Laws changes make it easier to for him to make his goal .Harder for the Christian .Its one of those places.... increase my faith. . and the chances of reducing the avenues of the father of lies . . the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes. . can give us a living hope the valley of Achor for a door of hope being clothed with his righteousness. By it we can guard our hearts as he works with us in us .

John 3:29-31 King James Version (KJV) He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

One day, one moment at a time.. . . . One living confidence of hope

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

That was encouraging. The strong tablets have gotten me to feel better, we'll see how they work. I've been so down for such a long time and have beaten myself to a pulp over bad things that I have done. It made me very negative and extremely hard on myself, I have Borderline as well, so that doesn't make it easier. I need to willfully start off by just maybe getting to like myself a bit, the self hate and loathing have been with me for a long long time. So one moment after another, step by step, hour by hour,, day by day. Thanks.

Cologne ... do you only want to hear that it's okay for you to be ashamed and feel guilty? Or do you want to have what you need so that you are able to overcome those thoughts and doubts?

How valuable are you to God?

The value of an item is dependent upon what a purchaser is willing to pay for the item.

Consider that God paid for you. God paid for you. God's Son is the purchase price. None of us is worthy of the price God paid for us. I certainly am not ... and yet, that is the value God placed on you ... on me.

How valuable are you to God?

Yes ... moment by moment ... step by step. That is this life. Keep your heart focused on the Lord Jesus Christ. He will help you through each moment, each step. He is faithful and He will hold your hand when you stumble, pick you up when you fall, place you on His shoulder and bring you back to the fold when you are too weak to carry yourself:

Luke 15:

4 "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?

5 And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders.

6 When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.'

7 In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!

I agree with hevsomies. If you were reprobate, I don’t think you would be grieved or confessing it to God and asking Him to take it away. Plus, you confessed it here, so we can pray for you,and you keep trusting and seeking God with all your heart, and healing will come

Hey, God made you and he doesn't make rubbish, so you mustn't dislike yourself.
Maybe you made mistakes, but so has everyone.
It's quite hard to get it right, but when you successfully invite the Lord Jesus Christ in, you probably won't need any tablets . I mean , don't just stop taking them right now because it'll take time.
The bad thing is the sin, not the sinner, so you're not stuck with it because you say you've sinned.

I hope you're feeling better and there are plenty of people here willing you success

Just had an inspiration when praying. I wasn't thinking about you ,( although I'd prayed for you earlier), but it came to me that you must forgive ,and truly forgive , those who hurt you.
I didn't think this out , it just happened so I think you should do it.

Can someone help me out with these two verses? I got really scared after reading them, keeping the unrighteous under punishment until the judgement day. This really worries me.

9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, (2 Peter 2:9-10, ESV)
