Is that a metaphor or did Paul literally die?

and

was it the law that caused death

or

sin that caused death?
Sin is not imputed when there is no law.

So it’s the law that came in first, before sin could happen, then death came in.

Working at the law isn't spiritual.

It is actually quite carnal.

Only those who attempt to justify their work at the law try to convince others that its spiritual.
How does one "work" the law? Is it by the "work" or by the "law"

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God the powers that be are ordained of God.
Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same

Now, I know what is good to God, having studied with the schoolmaster His laws, if I then do good am I working the law?

No, I'm not suggesting Paul "literally" died at that point.

But I think we should be mindful of (as I've pointed out before):

"Now the Law entered so that [the] trespass might abound; but where [the] sin abounded […]" Romans 5:20

I know this wasn't written to me but I want to build upon it with the word, as I have heard some of these things from people in the world, telling me to follow some indistinct teaching, why would I when I can follow Jesus?

1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."

Acts 3:19-20, " 19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,

Deuteronomy 6:24-25, " 24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day. 25 And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.’

1 John 3:7, "Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous."

Revelation 22:14-16, " 14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.

John 14:21, “he who possesses My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.”

John 5:28-30, " 28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. 30 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

Isaiah 8:20-21, " 20 To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn. 21 They will pass through the land, greatly distressed and hungry. And when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will speak contemptuously against their king and their God, and turn their faces upward."

satan definitely hates Gods law.

Isaiah 5:20, " 20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! "

I think we need hold fast to Jesus, abide in Him according to what He says!

John 15:1-10, " 1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.

Actually Satan loves the law because it strengthens sin. (1 Cor 15:56). What he hates is grace.

He knows that, because of our flesh, anytime we try to keep the law, sin ultimately emerges.

It was how he tempted Eve, and then Adam subsequently, with disobeying God, with the Law. So Satan definitely love the Law. Without the law, there will be no sin imputed to us.

What???? Satan doe not love the righteous commands of God....that may be the most ridiculous thing I have heard today...

Revelation 12:17, "Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea."

Daniel 7:25, " 25 He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

not saying this at you, I am quoting it;

John 8:44-46, " 44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. 46 Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?

Because you appear like a few others here, to say we learn obdince by the law (if this is not true forgive me)

Thats not true

We learn our guilt and the way to redemption through the law, the schoolmaster

We learn obedience through christ.
I doubt I ever said anything about learning obedience but frankly there is no doubt that you could learn about it from the law.

What I always say is this: the law is good for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction. (2nd Timothy 3)

It`s scripture and when you disagree with me on this you disagree with the Bible.

Well, if you'd say the BOLD ^ part like the following, I'd agree and be more aligned with what you might be attempting to say :D :

"For until the Law, sin was in the world; but sin is not imputed, there being no law." Romans 5:13

You must understand the mystery that was revealed only to Paul. As Gentile believers, take your church doctrine from Paul, even though yes I know that must sound like heresy to a "red letter Christian"

There is a good reason why, in the last days of Peter, he urged his Jewish brothers to get their doctrine from "Brother Paul" 2 peter 3:15, even though he himself admitted that he finds Paul's doctrine difficult to understand.

Yes, I should have stuck to my first paragraph.

But the point remains, death could only come in when sin was imputed to man.

Where does Peter urge ppl to adhere to Paul's doctrine?

Also Peter and all the disciples were sent to gentiles;

Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore, as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.”

“nations” is word #G1484 ἔθνος ethnos (eth'-nos) n., 1. a race (as of the same habit), i.e. a tribe., 2. (specially) a foreign (non-Jewish) one, Gentiles., 3. (usually, by implication) pagan., [probably from G1486], KJV: Gentile, heathen, nation, people, Root(s): G1486

It's Paul that says they were not, even though Jesus said they were (above):

Galatians 2:7-8, “In fact, they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel for the circumcised. For the one who worked through Peter by making him an apostle to the circumcised also worked through me by sending me to the Gentiles.”

2 Peter 3:14-16, Peter was writing to the Jews, as Galatians 2:9 dictated.
Where does he urge ppl to adhere to Paul's gpospel? Seems to me he is warning ppl not to read Paul and turn to lawlessness....

2 Peter 3:14-18, " 14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

SO what does Paulimplying the chosen disciples are not pillars of the faith have to do with your claim?

Galatians 2:9-10, " 9 and when James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.:

Paul says the 12 were sent to Jews but Jesus sent His disciples to gentiles, it is written:

Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore, as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.”
