The main and best way to get your other half straight from God is to go to him in prayer ask him to show you and tell you and wait for his answer :)

The best way to get your "better half" is to sneak up on her.

A logical conclusion:

1. The sheer existence of your "better half" kind of brings with it the inescapable conclusion that you are the "worser half."

2. If you are the "worser half", then it would seem you would not add much benefit to the "better half", and you would, in fact, do nothing but detract from her "better-ness."

3. If the "better half" intends to remain the "better half" (and surely she would have this intention by virtue of her being "better") then surely she would try to avoid the "worser half" in order to preserve her "better-ness."

4. Therefore, by simple logic, we can conclude the best way to get your "better half" is to sneak up on her... before she can get away.

With emphasis on wait, if it's to be had...
I know a lot of brothers and sisters that got ruined in toxic relationships because they had no patience and would not let go of infatuations, even when they saw the relationship was not going in a godly direction. The other person "professed" to be Christian yet they were not, and they were a continual source of hurt and inner conflict. All things are to be tested.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

If the person does not conform to this, likely God did not send them. And if you don't conform to this, you are not ready either.

Yeah, but when an opportunity arises you have to be ready to take bold decisive action. Being tentative at that point isn't going to cut it.

To kindly reply to all three of you maxel, SoulWeaver, Megenta, My point is not to look around for the other half........ but to take it to God in prayer ask him and wait on an answer from him about it, there is no better matchmaker than God if you can't trust him and have faith that he will show you and tell you who the one is and where they are..... then who will you have faith and trust in about it? this is being patient it's called waiting on the lord...... a few verses (Matthew 7:7) Ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you (Psalm 75:2) Be patient with God (Micah 7:7) But as for me, I will look to the LORD

you know, I actually did that, and the person who turned up here to buy some goods from me was the one.My heart felt it straight away and when I prayed asked if I was correct, I got an emphatic yes. Now, she is much younger than me, has a career, and other circumstances I Wont go into. So the moral is, don't have any expectations when you pray for her, it may come totally from left field

Alright... I guess we have to do a serious discussion now.

The whole division on this issue is whether to pray and sit around doing nothing, or to instead take some kind of action.

False Dilemma:

But there is no division here.
This is a false dichotomy, a false dilemma.
It isn't an either/or proposition.

We are to PRAY and seek God's direction, and then as he leads us we are to also TAKE ACTION.
This is ALWAYS what we're to do in life.
We pray, and we also take action.
This is always the biblical pattern.

So, what might this look like in real life?
- Maybe you pray, and God gives you a sense this isn't the right time for you to have a spouse, and you should just wait.
- Maybe you pray, and God gives you a sense you should seek a spouse, perhaps by getting more involved in your church, or some other thing.
- Maybe you pray, and God gives you a sense you need to work on yourself a bit... whatever that might be.
- Maybe you pray, and God gives you no sense about a spouse at all, but gives you a sense about direction in your career, and you find out much later that THIS is the way he directed you to your spouse.

We should of course pray, and seek God's direction.
But this doesn't mean prayer and action are antithetical.
One does not negate the other.

Messes of Simple Things:

Christians, by trying SOOO hard to be spiritual and biblical, often make a mess of very simple principles.

This is usually because of very good intentions, but we sometimes just over omplicate simple things.

Sometimes....
things aren't complicated.

I've had that happen and they thought it was God said yes... but they were wrong it was the devil trying to fool them cause it did not go good.... if it's God that says yes it will go good he will never do you wrong... that person problem was they did not seek God good enough and wait and listen for an answer from him, when they did and asked him to show them or tell me who the one is for them or both and he did both showed them and told them, it took time they also worshiped God for few hours every day with worship music and prayed and also just layed there with the worship music on soak in his presence

The thing is, most of us have had the experience at least once in life where we were sure God said A and was doing A and then A didn't turn out anything like we expected or thought. And it makes most of us less confident that even if God is doing something, that we're going to fully understand it or that we're capapble of accurately hearing from God.

I might also question to some extent this view of God as matchmaker. Is God in the business of matching humans up and pairing them off or is he in the business of giving people good brains and guiding principles of how to treat one another and then saying ok following the wisdom and guidance I've given you, go live your life and if you so desire find a life partner? Too often christians talk like God is going to magically write them a proper fairy tale complete with the happily ever after and while I think the right spouse can be a tremendous blessing. Having someone to share life with doesn't make all of life magically happy.

I know a person did what I said and God showed them and told them who the one is and where they are at... but they also worshiped God with worship music and prayed and also just layed there in God presence soaking it in and one day he showed them a vision and told them where to go and showed them what the person looks like it takes faith in God otherwise you don't get anywhere

this is a stretch - Jesus, doesn't 'usually' give us a personal description=looks=etc., but,
He often does give us a vision + a knowing of a future event= when and if this happens -
then of course we are assured of our growing in our faith in Him and His Holy Blessings...

God created all humans so he knows who your half is so in a way he is a matchmaker and there is nothing wrong with praying and asking him about it he knows all!!

I prayed for God to search and find the one of my heart's desire and that is exactly what happened. Still, it required action on my part otherwise it would have been an exercise in futility.

I think he would place that person in your path, then say basically, your a man, you have to take over from here. The idea that satan can interfere with a prayer answer bothers me. Unless God is on vacation in Hawaii I can't see how he would allow the enemy to answer for him with a lie. Also , the heart/soul/energy never lies, you just know this is the one. Marrying a friend is a bad, bad idea. it has to be much more than just mutual admiration.
