You never cease to surprise me. Um, well, I am glad it works for your self esteem. I am NOT on your page, though, to be honest, lol. As a 54 year old woman, seeing certain things are definitely not lovely, lol, or praise worthy, lol.

After getting knocked down and stumbling thru our struggles many of us have to remind ourselves to avoid fixating upon the perceived negativity in our lives and instead we need to make a conscience decision to focus upon our blessings and the good in our lives...

I can imagine your kids are grateful for encouraging positive outlooks. Encouraging ourselves to find what is right is healthy and biblical. We don't have to ignore the bad, but give them to the Lord, and just focus on the blessings. I don't always do it, but I strive to.

My 12 year old asked me on Sunday how to get closer to God.

I told her..."be on a quest to see the lovely of nature, ppl and circumstances and give thanks to God. Be intentional, think on Him and His goodness as much as you can. Yearn for His direction, because His path is most lovely. And when hardships or not so lovely things surface, look for ways that God and you can turn it around, pray to Him and give Him praise, knowing He is working all things out for good to those who love Him.

Oh this touched my heart...
God's character and things He's done for us, and how He's so different in His ways and character than anyone else's in existence. That's the most "praiseworthy" for me;

My church has started a teaching series based on the sermon on the mount from Matthew, and our community groups, which have just started back up again after summer break, follow along with the Sunday teaching so we can dig more in depth for greater understanding... we also break bread together, pray with and for each other, and a new element tonight's group leader has introduced is these little cards with Scripture and questions on them, for self reflection and sharing opportunities of where we see and/or feel a need for growth in our Christian walk, etc. My thoughts go there, to how a Christian community functions, building each other up in the Word, being available to share heart concerns, getting to know one another authentically, like family, as a body should function. To how that is real love, being present for each other, and keeping it real and also grounded in the Word. I love my church!

The biggest argument that is difficult to pinpoint is what Jam On alluded to...namely the Lord's action after they had fashioned themselves clothes from plants.

I can conceptualize how you can apply the propitiation to clothing (although I'm on the fence and may stay there) but what do you mean by sexual immorality being a manmade tradition? In reference to traditional inhibitions on recreation or boundaries within the marriage bed or marriage itself?

"David uncovering himself" while dancing is a common misinterpretation of the Scripture. He wore a simple linen ephod, looking like a common Levite priest. This is why Michal despised him, because to her this was unfit for a king, no crown, nor the rest of the royal attire... She was a very snot nosed person, and she was being sarcastic to David.
2 Samuel 6:14 Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.

So, David was not naked. He was wearing a linen ephod, which is a full set of priestly attire with almost knee long ephod plus long undergarment which had to be worn underneath the ephod. I do not want to judge you about your lifestyle, as long as it doesn't cause others to stumble and you are really doing it out of faith in your heart. But I disagree about nudist Bible interpretations. Isaiah was naked, yes, his mission has been special and God wanted him to get attention. But it's not so inconceivable that people did get baptized wrapped in a bit of linen, especially in that day and age. For most of people being naked that you mentioned, they still probably had some linen around their waist, they were just naked in the sense of being exposed to the elements, including the case of Saul.

For some people, looking at other people naked, is a stumbling block and a cause for sin. For the rest, it's simply TMI and feels weird. The idea that clothing is somehow evil is not Biblical... it protects us from the elements and makes our bodies less of a distraction to one another, creating healthy boundaries and affirming the exclusivity of marriage.
