Spirit of Jezebel

Has anyone ever witnessed this? If so, how do you deal with the situation when it's happening to someone you care about?
No matter how bad, or what the girl does, the guy is under her spell. She can sleep with her colleagues, get caught in every lie, betray his trust in every way, and he will defend her actions. I know this happens in gender reversal roles too; but, it's mostly the women, who have this power, over men.

It depends on what you're talking about.


A. I don't know of any reason to believe there is a particular demonic entity named Jezebel.

B. But if you just mean there are women who "act" like Jezebel... seems reasonable to me.

i can tell you the three reason for it in my opinion:

1. guy(or woman) has low-self esteem and feels like this is the best i can get, nobody else will want me
or
2. dont know how to say this in a christian forum friendly way but i say it like this: "IT" is really good. i hope its not too bad i say it like that. but you know what i mean. and because of this the person is ok to put up with all the other evil and abues
3. if the man(or woman) is unsaved maybe the woman(or man) use witchcraft spells

i dont believe in a "spirit of jezebel" since its not in the bible. there is the woman jezebel in revelation and in the o.t. but no mention of a spirit. i can see what people mean by it. there are some evil women((and men of course)) out there i should know i have dated them all one by one . i dated one witch actually in my lost-life. i dont say that as insult i mean like a real practicing witchcraft

Yes i have seen it a few times... It is a heart breaking situation.. The more the man defends and ignores the actions the woman the more contemptuous and callous the woman becomes towards the man.. There is little to nothing you can do for the man until the man wakes up to the reality of the situation.. We can pray for Him..

When this happens could you stand to be around for the manipulation? He's free to live his life, however he desires. Yet, my feelings would not allow me to watch him get manipulated and played. I guess it's my weakness, but I have to turn away from situations like this before their situation becomes an anchor in my life.

I do believe in witchcraft. I guess that's what I meant by, the spirit of Jezebel.

When this happens could you stand to be around for the manipulation? He's free to live his life, however he desires. Yet, my feelings would not allow me to watch him get manipulated and played. I guess it's my weakness, but I have to turn away from situations like this before their situation becomes an anchor in my life.

Well sometimes it is not easy to turn away.. Like when the man is a close relative.. Same for a woman in a similar situation when she is a close relative..

It effects me emotionally and I can't be around manipulative, intimidating, rebellious people, or any person who denies having the form of godliness. It doesn't matter if it's my sister.

The spirit of Jezebel is not necessarily a demonic spirit, but an attitude of mind, or a serious character flaw which resembles the ways of the immoral, wicked, evil and idolatrous women called *Jezebel* in Scripture. You could include Delilah in this mix, who was ruthless enough to destroy Samson, while pretending to love him. (Of course, Samson should never have been foolish enough to get involved with this heathen woman in the first place, and that would also apply to your friend).

You could even assume that a demon is behind this kind of evil and controlling *Jezebel* and seeks to do harm to your friend. We will never know how many evil people are actually controlled or even possessed by demons, but sometimes it becomes completely obvious.

If someone you care about is being manipulated and used, but is close enough to you, you can provide spiritual counsel with prayer (and even fasting if necessary). If that person has not been saved and been born again, they will not have the spiritual ability to resist Satan, and the lusts listed in Scripture. That can only come by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. So that is their first priority, and Scripture must be used appropriately. And in order to do so they will need to repent of their obsession, and turn away completely from this person who has literally become an idol. Without repentance there cannot be remission of sins or deliverance from bondage or demons.

At the same time, Christians will need to be praying for this person, that the Lord will open his eyes to the reality of what is happening, and give that person the spiritual and moral strength to walk away from this situation totally. Unless a person is willing to make a clean break from evildoers, they will always be in control.

According to Jesus this "Jezebel" teaching/culture is falsely taught:

Revelation 2:20, "But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols."

It seems to have engulfed the culture so much, I think common sense, patience, shining His light onto others and the actions of the Holy Spirit is the only thing that can wake ppl up...
