True or False?
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
If the law is done away then so is the knowledge of sin, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
We do away with the law and then we dont know what sin is?
We can't do away with anything.
God's law has always been internal and eternal, for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.

We can't be guilty unless we have been made aware. He that knoweth to to do good and and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another.
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ into all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

The righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ into all and upon all them that believe does not make void the law. God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

If something is established what is it?

And what is this Faith of Christ that is into and upon all that believe?

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares. Romans 2:14-16

If the law is written in a Gentiles heart, does he have to keep it? If not, where in scripture can we find a verse that says that we must not keep it or that we must erase it from our hearts?

Who is in your heart? Is he leading you not to keep the law that is written in your heart? Is it what he desires?

...in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on WHAT THE SPIRIT DESIRES. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Romans 8:4-7

Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and Walk in Love.

God is good and His LOVE endures forever. Amen
Talking about having the law written on your heart, the best thing anyone can do is to have the author of the law right there by following the advise given in Revelation 3:20.

Amen! He will suffer us to be tempted above that which we can bear but with the temptation give us a way to escape. For it is God that works in us both to will and do His good pleasure.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For we have been Buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
(Rom 6:4-7)

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh (that the body of sin might be destroyed): That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(Rom 8:2-4)

So what is the Law of sin and death?

The answer is found in Romans 8 as you say. It reads as follows:

The law of sin and death is the Old Testament Law of God.

Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:16-23

The answer is found in Romans 8 as you say. It reads as follows:

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

The law of sin and death is the Old Testament Law of God.
No it is not. Paul Delights in and serves the Law of God which in his mind, that which he understands. . The text stating at 7:20 to 8:2 speaks of this other Law, the law of sin and death and they describe it.

Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

It is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law (it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.), that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members ( That it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me) . O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. That is, It is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. That, when I would do good, evil is present with me. And that is the Law of sin and death.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
(Rom 7:20-25 KJV)

For we have been Buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Slaves to righteousness. For if the Son has made us free free we are indeed. For it is God that works in us both to will and do His Good pleasure. Christ in us the hope of Glory.
So Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; Thus saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Romans 2: 22. You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

Why do people who say that we are to keep the law of Moses, or part of it, not want to talk about the details of their lives?

If you consider yourself a guide to the blind, do you wear blended fabrics?

If your married brother dies leaving no sons, do you marry his widow?

all you guys do is say to us " you don't understand", you do not read my posts", I never said that", ...
for once, why not try making straight forward statements??
like this-

gentiles never had the Law, never were commanded to keep the Sabbath, so, if a gentile Christ follower choses to keep the twilight fri.- sat. jewish Shabbat, then that is fine. if one chooses not to, instead taking the Lord's Day as a day of rest ( as I do), then that is fine.

so, why not make statements like that?

oh, because you can't spin or walk back statements like that.
and that is why you judeaizers will not make clear statements.

Please show where I stated anyone was to keep anything.

You make accusation after accusation.

Thx for putting up a good post. The answer to your first question in my opinion is that Paul is saying that the Law retains it`s potency over people who do not have the "faith".

12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

The Faith of Christ is simply the belief that Christ is the Messiah and that God raised Him from the dead etc.

You ask, "what is the law of sin and death?"
The answer is found in Romans 8 as you say. It reads as follows:

The law of sin and death is the Old Testament Law of God.
This is the Law of sin and death.

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

In Romans 7 Paul declares man`s fallen nature to be the law of sin and death.

Religeous people who hate the commandments are full of false doctrine.

The law of sin and death is the Old Testament Law of God.
This is wrong, it is not the whole OT, It is the law of moses.

Why? Because made the children of Israel confirm an oath that whoever does not keep every word is cursed. And what is the curse? It is death.

Deuteronomy 27:26
Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law by observing them.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’ ”

Paul said this same thing in Gal 3.

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

And paul also said Christ has redeemed us from this curse. and it is because of this, that Gods promise to abraham (in you shall all the nations of the world be blessed) is offered to us!

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

And again, James makes the same type of statment when he says whoever keeps every aspect of the law but falls hort in just ONE part is guilty of all

James 2:10

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

And notice his wording, Stumble, it is somethign not done intentionally, but you stubled or tripped because you were not paying attention. Thats all it takes to be given the penalty of DEATH.

My fallen nature can not condemn me, thats what the law was given for. (see my last post WHICH HAS SCRIPTURE TO BACK IT)

People who hate the fact the law can not help them ake so much excuses for seeing the law for what it is. This just proves it.

By the way, My old nature can not cause me death, My old nature can not keep the law. And because I have failed to keep Gods standard, THE LAW brings me death!

Rom 3: for AL LHAVE SINNED, and HAVE FALLEN SHORT of the GLORY (standard) OF GOD.

What is Gods standard? For a view into this, look to the law of moses. But this is not a complete list of all possible sins, It is just given to show we can not even keep these. to show how truely desperate our situation is.
