How times have changed:
1979 - Billy goes quail hunting before school, then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack. The Principal comes over at looks at Billy's shotgun and says, "nice shotgun," then shows Billy his shotgun in his truck.
2019 - Billy goes quail hunting before school, then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack. The school immediately goes into lock down, the Police and FBI are called, Billy is hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors are called in for traumatized students and teachers.

Yes, they have also requested that customers do not carry their guns into the stores. My hubby has his CCW and he carries everywhere we go. I encouraged him to get one and he's had it for several months now. Wal-Mart asking people not to carry won't stop most people. I know if I was open carrying and someone asked me to take it out to my car my answer would be "Are you going to protect me if some crazy idiot comes in here shooting the place up? No. So there's my answer, No!" Here's the question, is Wal-Mart willing to hire security to make sure their shoppers are safe? No, they won't even keep cashiers employed. So I have a right to protect myself. They need to stay out of politics and do their job, which is, sell the product, period.

Exactly............what has changed......No God in schools or the home, No patriotism and recital of the Pledge of Allegiance in school, No Parental control or Discipline for unruly children, feel good and self serving religion peddle behind the pulpits, people immersed into a culture of violent video games and movies that glorify violence, criminals with more right than law abiding citizens, jails turned into social clubs with gyms, movies, college educations, sexual visits by spouses, the ability to buy anything that can be bought on the street..........you know....it boils down to cultural insanity......................when the people rule and the people that rule are corrupt the nation is doomed................

I knew the gravy train of cheap practice ammo wouldn't last forever. Wal-Mart is, regrettably, one of those corporations big enough to feel the weight of obligations imposed on them by the general government and elite culture. This will not change without some sort of revival.
Organizations which value personal peace and affluence above all else resist for a time, but inevitably bend with enough pressure...if they do not lock arms with the tyrant to begin with.

Most of my shopping is at Publix, mainly because of the bogo's. Shopping is a pleasure there, at least that is the advertising claim. There is an element of truth to that. You are right about the lack of cashiers at Walmart. I go there at 7AM so there is never much of a wait. I avoid the self-checkouts because they are a hassle. You get half-way through scanning stuff and then get an error message like you neglected to place the item in a bag or something like that. Or maybe the thing just freezes. Not worth the hassle.
We started going because the quality of fruit, vegetables, and meat was always better at Publix. We got tired of buying things that went bad really quick or opened it to find it already looking gross.
Could be regional due to my region is very run down, gang violence, drug wars, poor school systems, semi big city of Albany GA. Most places represent the city which is bad.

Unless something has changed in the past few days, Walmart is not prohibiting concealed carry in their stores, only open carry.
Their concern is that open carry (in light of recent events) might panic some customers. Honestly, persons open carrying never bothered me and in reality seeing someone carrying in the store tends to make me more relaxed since some one is there that can "take care" of a problem if one arose.
Before I forfeighted my right to own firearms 21 years ago I routinely open carried. I had a cop stop me in a grocery store once because he wanted to check out (admire) the weapon I was carrying. My weapon of choice (that day) was a SA 44mag.

Dumbest post here I have ever seen here so far. I own a gun. I've owned guns since I was 8. I will turn 60 next month. I've never shot anyone with a gun nor have I ever been tempted to.
You spout the same anti-gun crap that others do who don't want to make society adhere to personal responsibility. Make a thing to blame, (the gun), instead of the person committing the crime. The gun is never at fault. The person using it is. Gun violence is ever present in US news because the MSM wants it to be. It is patently stupid to say guns are responsible for the actions of people who want to kill other people. In the UK, you have Muslims running around killing people with knives. Do you advocate banning knives? In Africa, sects run around hacking people to death with machetes. Do you advocate banning machetes? In every Middle Eastern country one can name, today, Muslims are blowing people up, or chopping their heads off. Do you advocate banning the instruments they use to commit these atrocities? If you don't, then congrats. You win the Internet Hypocrite of the Day Award.

With millions of illegals shopping walmart with their food stamps an $1000 gov issued debit cards,walmart is finding a gold mine.

From your own reply you reveal that my assessment was not wrong. You call Walmart a"dump" but you also admit that you shop there. That makes you a hypocrite. You can whine about it, or label it something else but that doesn't change the reality.
I abhor Target. As a result, I don't shop there. Ever. Someplace I openly denigrate, I also do not shop at, ever. I despise Starbucks, so I don't buy coffee there. Ever. I don't support Hollywood, so I don't go see movies at a movie theater. Ever. I know how McDonald's treats their employees, so I don't buy food there. Ever. If you disliked Walmart as much as you say, you wouldn't shop there at all. You have alternatives. Every town does, so to say you only go there "no more often than what is necessary" means you still shop there, and probably more often than you would like for people to know about. When I say "I don't go there," it means exactly that. It means I don't patronize that establish at all. If every person who made fun of Walmart every single day stopped shopping there, all of them would be closed.

I'm glad you have the luxury of never having to deal with places you don't like. Not all have that great luxury. The very little that i use the place certainly is not enough to keep it a float.
It's not hypocrisy to patronize a place that you prefer not to, and avoid where possible.
