Veteran healthcare is not "public" healthcare because it is something you earned through your service to this country as a veteran. And as far as I am concerned, this country's treatment of veterans after they leave the Service is woefully lacking. Veterans should be placed above people who refuse to work and illegal aliens and they should enjoy much better care than what they receive through the VA. You may get something through the VA, but I assure you, it isn't as much as they owe you.
Yes, very true I need dental and cataract surgery but that's not covered by either VA or Medicare for some odd reason. I had the sense to join the military when it was very un PC among my age group. However that dosn't lessen my concern for others. That's all I meant. When I was 18 YOA rather than going out, goofing off and getting loaded like most of my friends who acted like Graduation was an extended summer vacation.
I figured it was time to start acting like and becoming a man so rather than going to the beach I went to the recruiter. Knowing The VA would help me go to college was an incentive. I wasn't a case of pure patriotism. We made a deal, my cousins and friends were still living with their parents when I started college. Some got lucky and got into the union, 1 became a cop and another got a degree and became a teacher. But in my life I've dealt with probably 1000's of people through dis-advantagement, arrested development or adolescent delinquency took the longer harder road. They're at the rescue missions, homeless camps, jails and prisons. Detox centers and hospitals.>
Matthew 25:34-41;
34
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply,
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left,
‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
