Yes, but not if we deliberately turn our backs on him and in full knowledge of what we are doing, blaspheme against Him.
This is where you "got it" all wrong my friend!
You see it as "turning one's back" on Christ!
When, it is "picking up your cross", and going unto the One who sent Christ!
You "see" Christ as the Father!
This is not the case!

No? You are unable in interpreting "love", by any other definition then what you "deem" love to be.
Lightskin said:
Abiders in the law don’t abide perfectly thus the abiding is moot. Exhibit A is the lack of love displayed all too often from law abiders throughout various posts.

How about you respond to what Lightskin said which was, "Abiders in the law don’t abide perfectly thus the abiding is moot."

As it is impossible to keep the law perfectly, all law abiders are condemned. It is so sad you cannot see that.

Exodys 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy." God
Mark 2:27 "The Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath." Jesus, who was God. (Emmanuel=God with us.)

What spirit do you think it is that leads you to be so condescending and vicious in your remarks toward Christians here? Angrily accusing us and condemning those among us who may indeed choose to do as God beckoned, remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy as that day that sets us apart for holy service to our Creator.

Do you notice the context of that edict? "Remember". It wasn't that the fourth commandment came into being on Sinai. It was that the holiness of that day was recalled into the Decalogue of God on Sinai. A reiteration hearkening back to creation from whence our species came into being, when through God's creation and breath, we became a living soul.
And after our labors, as God after his own, we are given a day of respite from our labors in this world. From working in construction, driving trucks, working in a cubicle world in corporate America, and so forth.
A day when we are able to leave the attentions this world requires us to have toward all its drama so as to make a living, to be distracted by inane nonsense called entertainment on large and small screens, a day when we can escape the troubling drama that garners our attentions. And spend a day in prayer, in worship, in communion with our Father.
Why is that so repellent to you? Why would you charge those who respect that gift from God's grace are, "Judaizers", as if that's a curse word, a slur, meant to demean? When our Lord Jesus was born into a Jewish family and practiced the Jewish faith being God in flesh.

The word, remember, in the fourth command means it predates the commands given in Sinai being God made the seventh day His day of rest after he had created all things in the prior six days. God rested from his creative endeavors.
Genesis 2:3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.
Exodus 31:13 “You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, ‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you.

John 17
17 Sanctify them[a] in the truth; your word is truth.
Footnotes:
[a]John 17:17 Greek Set them apart (for holy service to God)

May God bring you peace and open your heart and mind toward His message and peace filled understanding.
God bless and keep you all of your days.

It be like this Whispered.
In their arrogance and ignorance? They call out "Raca!" "O empty one!"
Not even realizing they are putting themselves more in "danger of the council" (Matt. 5:22), then they unknowingly already are!
They "keep themselves" blind to this!
Which is sad!

(egadz PH! I'm only up to Friday at 10:58 PM, in trying to get caught up in these posts! I may never get caught up the rate this thread keeps growing :p)

The problem/s, therefore the conflict/s, come from ones who have accepted Christ, and the everlasting (not eternal) salvation that is a gift. (To which God placed such a conviction on them, as to bring them to Christ.)
And, to some of these? That is well enough! Therefore there is now no condemnation to those in Christ.

These ones in Christ, however, are not the same, as those who were in Christ, but grew (pressed on) as the "Spirit of God" grew in them. Not allowing, nor being allowed, "traditions of man" to make void the "Spirit of God" that was/is in them.

But, rather "going on to the Father" as they confessed Jesus before men. And, placing themselves UNDER "The AUTHORITY of the order of Melchizadek. Thus not only being, and becoming Priests of Christ! But, also Priests of He who sent Christ! Thus, becoming not only a "brother" with Christ! But, a Priest of the Most High, as well! Thus, like Christ, preaching and teaching "the Kingdom."

Thus making the "many that are called", in their displays of sheer numbers, CONDEMN the "few who are chosen." Because of their unbelief, which causes this lack of understanding which is seen, time and time again. In thread after thread. Post after post.

These "many called", fail "proof after proof", from God (not Christ), in their "candidacy" into this "Forever Holy Priesthood."

Jez trying to explain PH, what's going on.

Let the condemnation/s continue, eh? :)
Group # 1
The "group of many" are happy to "make it to heaven" through the belief in Christ, happy with everlasting salvation.
The laws, the OT, the prophets, have no meaning as they " have attained" their everlasting salvation

Group #2
This "group of few" are not satisfied with "making it "to" heaven, and only having everlasting salvation. This group MUST, can not stop, are drawn past, continue on seeking for "eternal salvation" . Like baptism is a first step in the Walk with Christ here, everlasting salvation is the first step on the walk to eternal salvation, which, in this group, EVERY WORD OF GOD, not just what saves, is the bread of life. They move past being saved and are working towards the Priesthood of God, to reign with Christ, and only through deep study into the entire WORD of God may that be possible.

Though there is a New Covenant, and those in Christ are happily covered, for those in Group #2 it does not change much in their lives as NONE OF THE WORD OF GOD LOSES ANY OF ITS POWER AND REMAINS JUST AS VAILD AS EVER FOR THEM in their lives as they are seeking a different destination.

How am I doing so far? Am I hearing?

My comments concerned the perspective some hold concerning God's law and sin as the scripture applies. Without law there is no sin. In matters of sin itself, I would defer to the salvation principle and the scriptures that tell us the redeemed in Christ are a new creation. We are no longer the sinner we were prior to being redeemed of our sins that were tallied in our corrupt, fallen, former self.
Book of Romans 6
5 For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection. 6We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. 7For anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

I think I am reading you correctly, but I think the point being made was that without the Law there was no penalty applied to sins.

I think there is sufficient proof in scripture that God's commandments existed from the Beginning.

I also believe that the Commandments of God continue today and will continue as along as free will exists.

I listed only a few in Post #5136 all before the Sinai "Giving of the Law".

I recognize the scripture and experience the anointing of the Holy Spirit that has changed my relationship to The Law.

Good citizens of any community see Law enforcement and feel comforted by their presence. Criminals see Law enforcement and mutter/murmur under their breath obscenities about them because to them they represent a big problem! Their lifestyles as "lawbreakers" makes them fearful and at odds with them. Same with the Laws of God. Anyone who rejects and "abhors" Gods laws are at odds with those laws and will by default, like the example of the criminals in any community despise anything that reminds them of the existence of "Order". But to those who Love His Laws that order is lovely and comforting!

John 1:12
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, EVEN to them that believe on his name:
That's right! The "Power to BECOME!"
Not ARE! But, BECOME!
Meaning? It's NOT "automatic!"

You’re right. Having faith in Jesus makes one an “adopted son”.
John 1:12
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to BECOME the sons of God,

Romans 8
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people.
To whom He said, this is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest;
and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little;
that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
(the next 3 verses)
PRECISELY PH!
And, this is what we are seeing here in this thread!
For, this is what the "Word of the Lord" does when one doesn't "go unto God." Cross on back!
They "they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."

It is so strange and wonderful when another truth is opened up. Words and thoughts that just a moment before were unable to be "seen" are opened up and your eyes and heart and mind are flooded with the truth. All that knowledge that was on the shelf put together to be seen so clearly. God I love the Word. I love this journey.

"they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."

this is the reason why the word of the Lord to them is precept upon precept, line upon line. in order that they fall and be broken and taken.
line upon line, precept upon precept here is not being described as a good thing. it's being described as a means of just and righteous destruction of those who are offered rest, to give to the weary, but refuse it.

there's a contrast here: rest for the weary vs. line upon line and precept upon precept.
a ministration of life or a ministration of death, set before us

and here is where it is different for me, where others may find it "weary" I find life. It is what my spirit craves and can't get enough of. It is all I want to do, I am captured and held its captive like, ALL THE TIME. When I am not studying, I am pondering what I have just studied. Rather than weary I find it invigorating.

It is so strange how we go round and round on this one. To try to keep the law as a "carnal man" is the same as asking a kleptomaniac candy feind to keep his hand in his pockets in serve yourself/honor system candy store, let's make that a gourmet candy store! He would have no rest in trying or succeeding in his attempts! But the Justified man who goes on to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit who subdues his Kleptomaniasm and replaces it with a love for Gods law not to steaal and for the candy store owner, well he has rest in his decision not to steal any candy! It's now the predominate desire over his once predominate desire to steal! New creation, no longer "under the Law", but at peace with it! In fact he no longer hates the law that condemned Him, but now loves it! Same law, different heart, new position in relation to it!

No? Because, just as Christendom is today?
They are not them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Though they fancy themselves as such! And, don't mind preaching and teaching this to others.
"Might makes Right!" Right?
Nope!
This is why the "Word of the Lord" trips 'em up! And, they fall! And, they're broken!
But, yet "see themselves" as by sheer numbers, and being full, and clothed.
But, are starved, and naked!
Which they hate when it is exposed!
It's like they see themselves as having to denounce Christ, to be "chosen!"
When it isn't!

Holy smokes! The above comment was actually given a Red X. The same individual stated I need to LET GO OF CHRIST.:oops::oops:
John 3
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Ok? Are you an "adopted son of Christ?"
Or, an "adopted son of God?"
As is written, you have the "power to become" a son of God.
Romans 8
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

i wouldn't call that 'falling backward, being broken, snared and taken'

we say someone is smitten when they've been punched or slain.
we also say that when someone has fallen in love ;)

Which is what it should do!!! if it were wearisome?? that would be backwards, and oh so sad, I think. I just can't imagine, I want everyone to love it all like I do. I wish......
