hello friends.

i was reading leviticus today and this verse i read

Leviticus 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

but Jesus who was born under law and lived under it never did that to people who were possessed He always cast the devils out and said kingdom of God has come. to you

shoulnd't Jesus have fulfilled the law there?

thats only one question but for later i think we can talk about in this thread about why is Jesus so different from the old testament God even before new covenant comes to affect? I know its the same God and Jesus is prophecied in the OT but its all so different and even discrimination against lames and eunuchs in there. just we would never accept this religion in today's world we would call its cruel. Jesus helps the demon possessed in ot they put them to death

but Jesus' teachings are always timeless even atheists agree Jesus is great moral teacher. i love Jesus and i love His teachings. i cant honestly say i enjoy the mosaic law, does that make me evil? i hope not. i know God probably isnt happy with me for it but atleast im honest.
Jesus brought grace and truth.

my personal explanation that i thinked of was that God has shown both sides of coin. first in OT God show His need for perfection holiness and justice. second in NT God show His grace and forgiveness and love.

Justice and Mercy are hard to perfectly join. But God hasn't changed and is perfect. Times have changed, culture has changed but Gods love is the same.
The law of the universe is sin = death. And if God is to be just all that sin should die. But if God is to be merciful and gracious He will forgive. Can God be a just God and a merciful God? Yes ..Jesus on the cross. The perfect plan. Justice and Mercy meet. The law is satisfied and mercy is offered.

His actions in the old t. are sometimes hard to understand but i know that the Lord will reveal all, and answer any questions. I just need to focus on His love which is all through the bible.
Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

I don't think that "having a familiar spirit" and being "demon possessed" are the same thing...

But I could be wrong ;):D

Demon posses and people with familiar spirit is 2 different condition.

I grow in third world country, where some people have familiar Spirit.

People with familiar Spirit is one that learn how to invite evil spirit to help him get power. Usually this people learn mantra from guru, do some ritual, like fasting, animal sacrifice or what ever the guru tell him to do, in return the devil give him power.

Demon posses is people that become crazy out of his free will.

Jesus help people to cast the devil out from demon posses people.

There are two things in play in your question, both of which have been identified by others. First and foremost, Jesus came not to condemn, but to save. His refusal to condemn the woman caught in adultery is another example of this. He could have cast the first stone and been fully righteous in doing so, but He had a higher purpose. Mercy triumphed over judgment.

The second is that having a familiar spirit is different from being possessed. One who has a familiar spirit is one who has actively and consciously participated in a relationship with a spirit for some reason, such as for material gain, status, or influence. One who is possessed is a more likely a victim of trauma and subsequent deception.

Deuteronomy 18:15-20
“The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16according to all you desired of the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’

17“And the Lord said to me: ‘What they have spoken is good. 18I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. 20But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’

Jeremiah 31:31-34
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Psalm 102:27
But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

As mentioned in posts 3,4, and 5.......

There is a big difference between a man who willingly speaks with spirits, and a man who has been taken captive by demons.
One is worthy of death, the other is in need of deliverance.
