You know God has overcame death for our sake.😏
Thank you Lord, without you we would have not only have had to face death... but also your righteous and just wrath.
I hope you do not get upset with me L.A.M., I have no desire to argue.
I only am concerned.
__________
In unbelief we live in constant sin, as unbelief is an unforgivable state of being.
It is impossible to please God without faith.
Faith comes by hearing the Word. We need to be exposed to truth to be persuaded that it is true.
Faith consists of belief, trust, confidence, fidelity (loyalty).
This faith needs to be in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To really believe something is not a choice, it is an indwelling response to received information.
Our confidence and trust need to be in Christ, and His finished work on the cross. Our loyalty is just part of what it means to be faithful to Him.
God does not need proof or a timeline of events to know who believes in Christ as savior, He is truly all knowing.
If we do answer His call and believe on Christ we are indeed born again. Given a new heart, filled with the Holy spirit and our own spirit is quickened. (made alive)
We are then covered by the blood of the Lamb, the King of Kings.
We are seen as spotless and are imputed with the perfect righteousness of Christ Himself. The requirement in order to be accepted, is to be spotless which is not possible for only God is good.
Though we could not possibly hope to be accepted for our own walk or righteousness, it is true we now have been given new desires and wish to conform to Gods will which by the Holy spirit and the inspired written word is known to all of His sheep. (prayer is also amazing for worship and seeking His will, fasting can improve our prayers and self control as well)
The level at which we, God's children walk does not save us... nor keep us saved. It will always be by Jesus, and HIS walk that we are accepted.
What you quoted here was not a man pretending to be judge, but a member of the body of Christ who does not appreciate anyone standing in the place of glory for assurance.
In order to believe we are entirely without any sin, you need to ignore how small little things are in fact sin.
____________
God chastens ALL of His children, not for good deeds but for our failures.
As we grow from sapplings, to young trees, to young trees with immature fruit to big healthy trees with much fruit.... He never forsakes us, or makes a mistake that "oh I thought this one was mine but they are not"
He will not lose one of His, and to look to our own walk to see if we are saved is not what Jesus taught to anyone seeking mercy.
It is a dangerous place to be to think of Jesus as a prerequisite and not the finality of our salvation.
It takes the faith that ought to be in Him, and places it on ourselves.
The fruit of a saved believer will never say "Lord lord, have I not done many wonderful works in your name?" in order to be justified.
They will be meek, and know they need Jesus...
"I do not deserve your mercy Lord.... but my only hope is in you..."
