@DeighAnn, I would be afraid to teach against the commandments, or even to say which one I think is the least. For instance, knowing it can't be the ones pertaining to our Creator which is 1st, and those pertaining to our neighbor which is 2nd, I look into the ones pertaining to wildlife. I find this~
Deuteronomy 22:6-7 (KJV)
6 If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:
7 But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.

Even this seemingly little commandment pertaining to responsible care in leaving the mother to raise more young I find has consequences....."that thou mayest prolong thy days."
The penalty of sin is death, it did not say what sin, it means all sins, even unknown sins or unintentional sins require sacrifice for forgiveness

Hey DeighAnn,

This is a good question! I like that it provokes meditation on His commands! So it is also a wise question!
This entire thread begs the question; "Did Jesus tell us to follow Gods commandments?" and I am perplexed by how many overlook how those who are His sheep "know his voice". When someone walking ahead of us drops a dollar do we hear; "Finders keepers loosers weepers." or "Love your neighbor as yourself." ? Or what if that person was rude to you just a moment before? Are you mature enough to hear "as we forgive those who trespass against us" too? If Jesus is our Shepherd these are the voice of our Shepherd. When we see a fellow redeemed looking at a horoscope do we hear our Shepherds voice speaking through us to our brother or sister? Of course, and what Our Shepherd declaring? keep my commands. So while we may be "teaching" the least of these commands do we actually echo the Shepherds commands? Yes and this is in many ways the NT answer to the OP's question.
would it not make more sense to meditate on the Sermon on the mount, since that is the ultimate goal of the Christian?

anyone reading this, please be aware- as well as it is presented, as good as it sounds, as well as it is intended , one does NOT< NOT < Not have to keep the Law of Moses and the jewish Sabbath to be a Christ follower.

believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

Tis curious indeed, you consider the Holy spirit as YHVH.
Even when Christ stated, that you can curse Me, and the Father, and be forgiven. But, cursing, or blaspheming the Holy Spirit, is so unforgivable, that this sin, is neither forgiven in this age? Or, the age to come!

So when you pray? How do you know you are not praying to the Holy Spirit? All being the same, yanno? For, we are not to pray to the Holy Spirit.

Or Praying to Christ, our High Priest, in the Fathers name, for that matter.

Or praying in the High Priest's name to the Holy Spirit?

Or, the Father's Name, to the Holy Spirit?

Seems so confusing, and so apt for one to be praying to?

2 Thessalonians 2
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
I have no clue what you're talking about. It doesn't seem that you are Trinitarian. Therefore, you would be challenged to understand me.

YHVH is one. The Father is YHVH. The Son is YHVH. The Holy Spirit is YHVH.

The distinct Personhood of each is plainly taught in Scripture.

As I mentioned, Stephen asked the Lord Jesus to receive his spirit, in a similar way that Jesus asked the Father to receive his spirit.

Additionally, it was Jesus who baptized the believers with the Spirit on Pentecost.

I personally don't pray to the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit serves as an intercessor between the believer and God. However, I don't think it's inappropriate to pray to the Father, Son, or Holy Spirit. In all cases, you are praying to God.

By the way, if Arianism is the subject of your objection, it is obvious Jesus allowed worship of himself, and if he were a mere man, he would not have allowed that. He is God. There is only one God (YHVH). Therefore he is YHVH.

Yes, it would make more sense to meditate on the positive message of living the Christian life that begins with a change of heart in our attitude towards others. After all this is a CHRISTIAN forum.

I hate the negativity of Old Testament Law with all it's 'Do Nots.'' Be good, kind and loving is how it should be.

I have nothing against the Law of Moses, but it was given to Israel mainly because none of them had known Yahweh , and had lived in big-time pagan Egypt, so God had to completely separate them from paganism , and at the same time try to get them to not end up as idol worshipers.

but, the world , gentiles , etc.. were and are not under Torah.

we come to Zion, not Sinai.

Even so I do not like Judaism being thrust down my throat the whole time. I am not a Jew, I am a Christian.

If that is where the Holy Spirit was leading him or should we follow where you lead?

Then? Who is Elohim?
And who are these?
Job 38
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

1 Corinthians 2
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Elohim is a title for God. YHVH (along with the associated word EHYEH) is his personal name. Elohim and YHVH both refer to the Triune God.

YHVH is most often used to talk about God amongst his covenant-people. Elohim refers to him as a title, and tends to be used when referring to him as the God of all mankind.

"Sons of God" likely refers to the angels. The word "elohim" can refer to either God, man, or spirits (including angels) depending on the context.

Please, Please any one reading this, KNOW FOR A FACT THAT "THE LAW OF MOSES" and/or the 1st Covenant, IS NO LONGER IS AVAILABLE, as it has been replaced.

One thing JESUS, OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR DIED FOR was ITS REPLACEMENT. YOU would think that would be enough to let it go, but it doesn't seem to be.

You would think because it was written "as a shadow of what was to come" and Jesus came, it would no longer be brought up as something anyone could even try to put you under.

You would think because it had an expiration date of John the Baptist, it would no longer be brought up.

You would think because there is a better one put in place, one of forgiveness and life it would no longer be brought up.

You need to go and check out "WHO" keeps bringing up this old law of death and never mentioning the NEW COVENANT that replaced it and "for what purpose" that might be.

Read the post and ask yourself "why is this person warning against something that no longer exists, that wasn't mentioned, is not being promoted"

WHY IS IT THOSE WHO STATE THE LAW OF MOSES HAS ENDED, YET THE NEW COVENANT LAWS MUST BE FOLLOWED ARE CONSTANTLY ACCUSED OF TRYING TO "PUT OTHERS "UNDER" an old law of death that has been replaced,

OR WHY THOSE WHO SAY THE LAW HAS BEEN DONE AWAY WITH CONSTANTLY MAKE THE CLAIM THAT those who follow the law are" trying to put everyone UNDER the law of Moses" instead of saying "they follow the New Covenant" laws"?????

WHAT IS THEIR PURPOSE?

Sometimes you must walk away because the gap in knowledge is to great. There is not enough time to teach that much. Unless you have that much time to devote to this. If you do May the Lord Bless you.

By the way I don't even consider an anti-Trinitarian to be Christian. Or anyone that denies the full deity of Jesus.

Notice I said anti-Trinitarian..I am not talking about baby Christians who don't understand the Trinity yet.

Let me amend it to read "in a forum like this" the gap is such "in the difference of knowledge" that the back and forth would never end.

They believed in God, their hearts were in the right place and they tried to do what was right according to how they had been taught.
Do you think if you have been taught "wrong" you are going to be ok and/or Will "ignorance" be an excuse for sin on Judgment Day?

I think the law said even those sins must be paid by the shedding of blood.

God knows our circumstances and he knows our heart, despite all the unfortunate difficulties that beset us. He looks on the inner man and not outward appearances.

The belief that you can be saved by obeying a list of impossible rules ended with the resurrection.
Just to add, Jesus is the Saviour of mankind. We can do nothing of ourselves except accept His free gift of salvation.

Those who are "of the flesh?" Cannot understand! This is why they think, we are referring to flesh actions!
And, why they "mock and scoff" so!
1 Peter 2
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, THAT YE MAY GROW thereby:
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but CHOSEN of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Being yet in their "fleshly mindset", Jesus FULFILLED "EVERY SPIRITUAL SACRIFICE" FOR them!
All they NEED do?
"LOVE Jesus!" "LOVE Jesus!" "LOVE Jesus!":cry::cry:
