No, I do not believe that at all, that we come to the same conclusion.....there are only two possible conclusions....
a. He indeed was never saved
b. He is saved, has not lost it and will answer when his works are tried by fire and or be chastened for his sin
I'll admit b is an interesting POV. So he dies having had an affair on his wife and is sleeping with a woman he's not married to and still makes heaven? Wow, that is one wide road. He's living directly against the Word and yet still gains heaven.
There are no verses in context that teaches the loss of salvation......EVEN DAVID that murdered Uriah, and took Bathsheba SPOKE of his salvation in the PRESENT TENSE.....GOD chastened DAVID for his sin just as he does ALL saved children.....
Ahh but David knew he had sinned and he repented bitterly. He didn't walk away from God. I don't believe you can lose your salvation either, but I believe you can walk away of your own free will.
David's 1st born with Bathsheba TOOK David's place in death (deserved under the LAW) David suffered physical ailments (evidenced by the Psalms) the SWORD was in David's house ALL his days and paid the price by humility, shame and the loss of Absalom.....and the JOY of his salvation, but NEVER lost salvation.....
AND that is the difference....
Again David failed morally but he did not walk away from God, he repented. He knew his sin. Yes, he was punished for it. But the Bible says David was a man after God's own heart.
And no reason to feel winged....I told you I was speaking in generalities....so....either you believe me or you don't!!
Listen everyone here needs to chillax. I'm telling you why I reacted the way I did to your comment. We have people fighting all over the forums. There's enough of that in the world so lets chill. Neither of us is changing each others mind on the subject. Let's let sleeping dogs lie.
