It saddens me that so many members here have embraced the ways of the world, and even worse, don't recognize that they have.
and here is almost the same post from another thread

It's sad that the sickness of the world has so deeply permeated the membership here.
post 342 "who is voting for Trump"

I think you might find a personal inventory check to be helpful

then again, I'll assume you already did that and found everyone else wanting as your quotes seem to indicate

no Ricky, you can make this stuff up ;)

Some here are antagonistic towards me bc I DO NOT hold to OSAS ! Every word I write has to be followed by them and examined by them to see if THEY need to argue against. The word of God in TRUTH backs up that a person can and do backslide,quit following,turn aside or away from! So far there IS NOTHING ETERNAL EXCEPT GOD!

I do not read all threads. There is not enough time in my day to read every thread. I generally have time to participate in one or two threads at any given time.

uh. ... dog that good memory of mine. gonna get me in trouble again. from your op:

I spent much time in going back into forums on cc to 2008 and forward.
Many many who were once participants here are NO longer with us,I do not know why!

It appears to me that the disunity is in doctrinal minutiae. The unity we have as a body of believers is the faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

minutiae. musta missed that. what page is that on again?

We all need to realize that we are all in various stages of development and maturity in the Lord. We also need to realize that we are all members in particular in the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Head, we are the members of His body, and we all have different functions within the body.

true

How many of us allow other members to function as God has designed?

here? that would be impossible. remember the church thingy I posted?

Some are called to exhort and gently encourage others. Does that mean the faith he or she has is not genuine? No.

Some are called to apologetics (watchers/defenders). Does that mean the faith he or she has is not genuine, or is somehow different than the one who prefers to encourage? No.

The faith is the same ... the function within the body of Christ is not the same. Both believe God. Both uphold the Word of God. One upholds by defending the gospel. One upholds by supporting and encouraging. God works within each one as He sees fit. We are to be submitted to Him and speak as He directs ... sometimes with what appears to be harsh words and sometimes with what appears to be words which are too soft / gentle.

and how do you see that exactly, since you don't like how some people speak here? see, this is what I am talking about. it's a forum and we get to be members here and post pretty much whatever unless breaking the TOS, but you cannot hold to 'speak as He directs' while telling others they are out of line. which one of you is correct if you are both saying He directed?

oh believe me, I don't like being called vile or hateful or nasty or unsaved and all of those have been attributed to me at one time or another and worse than that! someone once told me I was speaking through a demon...no not you Roger...but then she just turned out to be wierd and finally quit.

And that is the basis of our fellowship one with another. For some, that may be the only place in which there is unity.

You know, once we are born again, God begins His work within each and every one of us to bring us closer to Him. Some of us submit to Him ... some of us do not submit and we wander away, get lost, and the Shepherd comes and finds us, lays us on His shoulder, and brings us back to the fold.

not everyone here is 'born again' and not everyone here is in agreement with the most basic of doctrine...you cannot be in agreement with what they say

There is a time coming where all this dissension will be wiped away. We will all bask in the Light and see Him face to face.

not before the biggest battle of all time though

sigh

so what?

get over it. the more I am reading your posts, the more it seems you have created a little world all your own where everyone is going to love you and if they don't, they are unChristian and have no fruit

since you only have time for a couple of threads (sort of) don't engage with people you feel are like that

shangra la de dah does not exist down here and certainly not in this forum

Thats why we should listen to people and not just assume amen!!

Is the person placing their faith in Christ, and has the living faith which orks form of OSAS

Or are they the licentious. Say a sinners prayer and your saved, so I can live however the you know what I want (or as I call it, the get out of jail free card) type of OSAS.

To many hear the word and lump everyone together!!

IMO, it is a constant case of talking past each other many times

and of course there are the exceptions...true false believers who make it all about themselves and wax on and on in a sad psychological manner that actually fools some and they take advantage of it

ditto

and ditto for most here I am sure

frankly, YOU posted a thread some time back wherein you stated you were not going to post anymore unless God told you to but instead you were going to get to KNOW others by how they posted

I could get exasperated with you and be excused for it

I will agree with the title of your op then and be done:ROFL:

One thing i wish so many people would realise is just because someone does not agree with you does not mean they HATE you. Or are attacking you.
Right. I don't like ALL BOLDED lettering throughout a post, but that does not mean I hate you.:D

well, the thing is, this is not a church. you are not sitting in a church that has proclaimed what it believes and hopes and teaches that everyone is agrees. if you want membership, you had better agree

nope

this is a forum with people from allllll over the place, from myriad backgrounds, life circumstances and experiences, poor, wealthy, high IQ's, middle IQ's and dare I say lower IQ's...:unsure:...well anyway...

now you can have all that in a church too, but most people are going to sit on their behinds and want to FIT IN

not so here. everyone wants to be heard AND demands everyone else listen

not everyone has experience in leadership in church....I do, for better or worse as some might see that.....and I can tell you, behind the scenes it can be a pretty disruptive and disunifying scene at times

the pastor can't stand his secretary, the secretaty gossips about everything she should hold in confidence, the worship leader has the fantasy that they alone bring down the Holy Spirit, the youth pastor flirts with the girls and the parents are fed up, little Joey was beat up by the Pastor's son and on and on and on and on

in church everyone basically shuts up and listens...or dozes off

here, everyone has equal mouth time and it shows

that's what is going on

again, this is not a church and rest easy. people with more experience and actually ability as a teacher have tried to calm the place down and to date, has not happened

so, people leave and new people come in and it starts all over again

people cart their soapbox or favorite hobby horse in with them and some start preaching, some listen, some do both, some think they are OT prophets, some have an axe to grind and want everyone's neck on the block and on and on and on and we all get to CHOOSE what we want to respond to or ignore

some people believe God is speaking through them when they address others and they expect others to sit up and obey

some people think they have the goods cornered and if they bring that up, they will solve the problems they perceive active in this forum

the above are facts. illusions are many, but the facts here have it

nothing personal. just trying to hopefully explain what you are seeing here
We are a church, a fellowship, part of the elect, called to minister to each other. You talk about paid, denominational structures. So praise the Lord, and yes as brothers and sisters in Christ we can spur each other on. I fear this is too much for you based on your comments a few days ago. God bless you

There is only one gospel. Not two. Not three not 1000, The bible does not teach universalasim, It also does not teach all people who merely believe in a man named jesus who died on the cross are true children of God.

No, we are not unified. Because there are multiple gospels being believed buy differing people here.
Right. And if you go back to the first post I submitted in this thread, please note what I stated:

"When our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, we will have fellowship with each other and we will have fullness of joy (no matter our current circumstances).
I think we all have respect for one another, even though we may not agree with each other on minutiae. And when we do not agree, if we keep our hearts focused on Father and His Son, we will not treat our bothers and sisters disrespectfully. The same blood shed to purchase me is the same blood that purchased those with whom I may not agree."

Who are those who have fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ? Is it not the born again one ... the believer in Christ Jesus?

So I am not saying the believer is to have fellowship with the unbeliever (what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness - 2 Cor 6:14).

There will always be friction between the wheat and the tares. In the parable of the wheat and the tares, Jesus instructed "let both grow together" and in the end the wheat will be separated from the tares.

Having said that, we are instructed to:

grow up and mature in Christ so that we are not blown about by every wind of doctrine (Eph 4:14);
be good unto all men, especially those who are of the household of faith (Gal 6:10);
love one another even as Jesus Christ loved us (1 John - throughout all chapters);
be kindly affectioned one toward another (Rom 12:10);
don't act through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind esteem others better than ourselves (Phil 2:3);
since we have been purified through the Spirit we are to love one another with a pure heart fervently (1 Peter 1:22);

These are just a few verses ... there are more concerning the love and respect each member of the body of Christ is to have toward other members.

What is our response to those who we think are believers and yet treat us in a manner other than what is instructed in Scripture ... or with the unbeliever who comes here to provoke? Do we join them and allow ourselves to be drawn away and enticed to respond in kind? My fellowship with my Father is not worth the fleeting satisfaction of the flesh. When we are mistreated, whether the mistreatment comes from an unbeliever or someone who is a brother or sister in Christ, let God deal with them and let God heal our heart from whatever injury inflicted upon us. God can and will apply His healing balm to our hearts so we can respond in a manner that brings God the glory. Not easy to do but much more beneficial to us in the long run (imho).

And don't get me wrong, EG. I am not perfect and I feel pain when fiery darts are hurled my way and I sometimes reply in not-so-loving manner. We're all in the same boat as far as that goes.

Except he is judge jury and executioner, too many times to count. Everybody knows, puke, drivel, deceived are words often used. It is like a running joke :ROFL:
Ya he's on the wide path, but his honesty shows he still has a chance to submit. You also are on the wide path, but your being decieved that there is a difference between you and he when your both standing on the same mistranslation.

this is a forum

since you want to be the pastor, I guess you would see it as a church

you know, an honest person does not snipe at others and then say god bless you. note the small g. when you say that, what are you actually trying to say since your words contradict each other

you actually do sound more and more like jens every day and I don't care

but it's uncanny.

I spoke of people attending a church.

interesting you speak of getting paid. is this a personal gripe for you?

To be honest

People are antogonistic towards you because of your attitude. (Especially in the not by works thread where you were very uncrhistlike toward a brother in how you spoke)

That and your consistent refusal to even try to understand what others believe, and insistence that you are right. And everyone else is wrong.

You seem to have a fear or something of those who disagree with you or does nto act the way you think they should. It is shows in how you react to people.

Your belief in OSAS or not has very little to do with it. I have many friends here who do not believe in OSAS. Yet you do not see is fighting or calling each other names, or screaming and yelling or slandering each other..

So something else must be the problem.
