Do you have pets, if so what kind and how did you come to have them?

Please share.

Dog person or cat person? Or both? Is it true a mans best friend is his dog and a womans her kitty. And why do we have stereotypes of the crazy cat lady? Cos I know some people like that, mostly female. One lady I knew, fed all the cats and then all the pigeons and they just would flock to her place.

I have my limits though. Lol

My household, one cat, who kinda adopted us, and one bossy chicken.

My dog is in my avatar. I got him about 7 or 8 years ago from the Humane Society. I was living with someone who had a dog and found I liked having them around. I was more of a cat person before that. I did eventually find out I was allergic to at least some cats later on. I had to move away from cats for a bit to figure that out.

My dog has been through a lot with me.

I'm the crazy single gal who goes on walks in the more frequented areas just so I can pet other people's dogs. I say someday I'll have a dog, but I'm waiting until I'm not living in a small apartment to do that.

true @cinder you need space for a dog. They do a lot of symptomatic barking when left alone when they don't have other animals around and it's a nuisance to the neighbors and not considerate.

I'm not a fan of tiny dogs but pomeranians are soooo cute. I delivered to a guy that had one that yapped and one that didn't bark at all. If we could somehow breed out barking dogs would move up considerably on my list of desired pets.


Outside dogs? or dogs that fulfill a role besides a pet? Certainly.

If I had the space...and old house dog that lives in the rec room and is trained well would be alright. I'm down for ONE family dog.




Kitties I like a lot...can't say love because it depends on the cat. I certainly favor them. I'm inclined to be at my wits end with dogs due to their sensitivities and how they are so environmentally/spiritually affected but rarely with cats. The only sound I can't stand is caterwauling and that's rare.


Cats to me are like teenagers and dogs are like perpetual 6 year olds at mature stages.

You can get a rebellious cat that is a terror and a nice one that sort of "does their own thing" and occasional visits you

I have never had a dog but have dog sat a couple of times. Yes they are like children and I find them a bit exhausting. They need lots of training to be obedient.
Cats teenagers? Yea I would agree with that. Kind of like 'whatever' and snarky attitude at times. They want to do what they like, they cant be on a leash.

Yeah. Dogs are definitely like toddlers or something. It's cute when they get old and are some sort of little kid/cranky old man hybrid.

I have a dog named Bella and we got her at an animal shelter. She loves to go for a ride!

At night though he would let me touch his mane and would purr and well give up and let me pet him

Yeah i kinda said goodnight to him every night that was the good part

He would also nap on a pillow

He would always beg for food pleading on my calves and meowed when i looked at him.

So I kind of sit there contemplating it and (I'm not saying it's the Lord just mebbe) it comes to me that I sometimes like company when I eat so I try that out. I go to her food bowl in the garage and she walks over to it. Looks down. Looks back at me. Then I start to pet her...and sure enough she starts eating. When I stop...she stops.

Then eventually I go back inside and she follows and no more meowing.



This didn't always work...most of the time that's what she would want...but sometimes she would want to go on a walk. So I'd go outside and start walking and she wouldn't come. FINE CATTTT (because I had seen her walk with the dog and myself I figured that was the ticket) so I take the dog for a walk and sure enough she follows.

Twas a strange cat for sure.






There was also a really sweet time when I was really depressed and sitting and laying in a dark basement. She isn't usually down there and I was really "sad". I didn't even want to pray really I don't think. So all of a sudden this creature just sort of comes down from the top of the couch (pitch black mind you) and fortunately I didn't move. So she just kind of sat on my chest, kneaded a bit and just sat there and it was like I could feel her love. Then I started with a thanks and began kind of pouring it out. I felt so comforted even when I didn't want to be. Was pretty sweet

went on for a year or so...was so happy with this nice bit of "logic"
until someone reminded me that I also did not have nine lives.

Trying to post a photo or two of my furbabies, but it keeps saying the files are too big. I have 3 dogs. Roxy is 10 years old, a Pomeranian. Sophie is a 9 year old Papillon. Remi, or Remington, is a 9 year old Chocolate Lab.

I love all pets including dogs, cats, and reptiles as well.

BUT for some reason birds unnerve me a little. They can be absolutely adorable and love skritches, but for some reason their ability to turn their aggression on their owner with such veracity just...yeesh.

I think like the smaller and/or rounder the beak the less I’m scared of them. Like chickens, ducks, geese, I’m good with them. Well other than the fact that geese are so dang territorial
