Permanent solution to temporary problems.[/QUOT

I agree, once breath stops this life is over and eternity begins! So many ppl come here in pain, hurt, troubles, addictions, ect.ect,I have read some that say this is their thought to just end it all! ........ I would that this thread brings to light the wrongness in this type of thinking. I pray to that it would change the course of someone's actions!

It's a complicated subject..........and, while I don't think it is a solution for anything, and a problem if one expects to inherit eternal life........others disagree......... Expect you will get some differing comments.

BTW: The Scriptures posted........IMO deal with mans heart, for that is where the Indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit resides........ not so much in our big toes........ :)

(just saying)

My brother took his life not to long ago as well as a few friends in the past. Only God knows the heart, I mean isn't that what its all about? Jesus did not come to judge nor condemn but to encourage and bring hope. Satan loves to blind people and to keep them in the dark so he can kill and destroy.
I'm sure many believers as well as the unsaved have sought to take their life at one time or another. Obsession, depression, heartbreak, possession, hopelessness, have all visited us at one time or another. I don't think we are to judge that which we don't know from beginning to end.
I think it's best to pray for the weak, the troubled, the addicted, that a ray of light from God's throne open their eyes.

Cliche answers aren't going to help anyone.
Many people struggle through life and don't find it to be worth the struggle. I would never reduce someone's hardship to some cliche phrase.
A prime example is the statement, " a permanent solution to temporary problems". Many peoples life problems are life long and life's end is the only end to it.
I personally don't find holding on in silent desperation to be so heroic.
I often wonder why anyone would cling to this grim miserable toil for any longer than necessary. What's even worse about it is that we make a irredeemable mess of it.
Thanks be to the Lord to whom the impossible is no obstacle. That his glory and heaven is so far above and beyond our hopes and dreams that it makes this present suffering worth it.

Permanent solution to temporary problems.
That is a short answer but it does tell of something people who do do it are looking for solutions to a temporary problem in their life, taking ones own life doesn’t seem to be the right answer in my view.

I think any believer that is in a suicidal headspace should read Job.

The man went through the highs and lows...he was unwilling to end it when the out was available (depending on how you read his wife's solution). The Lord put the breath in, he can take it out.

It's definitely helped me more than I want to discuss on a public forum, just know that I am not unfamiliar with the topic personally.

In my opinion there exists an element of testing the Lord in some instances, especially in a believer's life.

I think there is no reason to post such a picture @JamOn

How does that in any way move the discussion forward?

Comes across as morbidly pointless. Could easily describe without posting it.

I'm so sorry for this loss. The "why" must be hard for those left to understand. Please help me pray about this thread. I will be lifting your loved ones up. Yes we do not know the heart or mind of man only God truly see all. The enemy of our souls wants that final defeat of taking away someone from God. We however serve a JUST and MERCIFUL God. Loving you and yours.

Yes I agree the struggle makes it worth it all at the finish line. Young are especially vulnerable to this thinking, being taunted thru social media bullies. May we somehow thru God be able to pull them from the fire.

If you read there were many instances in O.T. where the prophets wished to die also. This is not a new problem facing man. We must be a willing listening ear and a loving non judgemental heart so that God may use us to help those in the pit of despair!

Yes turn the cheek you don’t want to really see the real world. sometimes seeing harsh things makes people realize the issues are not as bad as they thought.

But someone thought it was to much for y’all babies, and probably so this site isn’t really about real issues but a lot of pointless debating.

How many people turn away at seeing the crippled, maimed, or deformed? I guess we've all been guilty of this ignorance when it comes to someone else's plight, of which we have no experience, or basis for understanding. I think the better way to describe such shunning is fear. As if we can catch what they, the paralyzed, the amputee, the burn victim, the depressed, as if we can catch what they have by looking/acknowledging them.

The above is a link to Nick Vujicic. He is a motivational speaker, a Christian man who was born with no arms no legs, and he is more than inspiring. He has an anointing to reach and lift up depressed and suicidal children all over the world.

Suicide has bruised our family, a cousin and more recently a great nephew, he was 15.

I am sorry this has touched your life. It IS A REAL PROBMEM! If we close our eyes and hearts we sin against Jesus for He said when you visited me in prision, when you fed the hungry and poor, when you visited the widows and orphans, and when we fail to SHOW love to a hurt, dying sinful world! WE WILL NOT BE TAINTED IF WE ENGAGE PPL! Prayers and blessings to your family.

Yes I agree though the picture was harsh of a starving man eating poop from a animals rearend.
The person who took that photo along with others killed himself kevin carter, I gather just experiencing seeing such horror was to much for him to handle.
