Every time I hear about another mass shooting, it hurts my heart. So many innocent, defenseless people, and the families and communities left behind will never be the same. I don't see any workable solutions, it's a sign of the times, and I believe true evil, the devil, is behind each one, along with the many other moral disasters going on. We are all just humans, good and bad in all of us, no matter the race, age, gender, religion, political leaning, etc. I do think we need to focus on education, prevention, protection, etc., because this isn't going away. In both these events, there were already signs back in high school that should have been big red flags. Yes, some are mentally ill, some are just so hurt, or so angry (which comes from hurt), they just don't know how to handle it. We all need to start watching for the signs, and do what ever we can to help change that path. Report what you see. Show kindness to everyone at all times. Meanwhile, we need precautions, special locks and equipment, effective alerts, people in place to stop the chaos. I believe in people carrying, I lived in ME for 15 years and most of the people I knew carried. My son (active military) and son in law (gun hobbyist) both carry, and I feel safer when they are around. But I also worry about how other "carriers" and the police are going to know who is helping and who is hurting? The best thing we can do is PRAY! Pray for our schools, our politicians, our country, the victims families, business owners, and our police and other first responders.

Everyone has valid and good points.......that's why this is such a complicated issue.......

Drunk drivers kill way more people every year than evil people with guns.........where's the outrage over that?

If folks do a search on the leading causes of death in the US, they would be surprised at what they find.

Not lessening the horror of these horrible acts by evil people, and that is what they are, that kill without cause innocents......... I do agree with Trump (one of the few times) that they should ALL receive the Death Penalty when convicted............AND NOT get 15 to 25 years worth of Appeals/Stays........

Sadly, we live in a fallen creation........and Jesus warned us all that it would get worse...........lots worse before He returns to put an end to all the madness in this world.

Anarchy from within is a growing threat. The liberals who want to criminalize gun ownership have no clue what will happen if law enforcement and responsible gun owners should take opposing sides. The Antichrist is comming, if he's not already here. And the Beast will demand to be worshiped. Those left to be saved will flee and/or hide.

The Devil has known what the outcome will be for at least 2000 years. He is pitting us against each other. He desires to take the world into the lake of fire with him. There is only 1 side left to join and it's not political. Join God's side. All of the others will perish.

I talked to an Officer in St. Louis today that said he wished every law abiding citizen was armed and would pack...........

Law abiding citizens are not the problem. A gun in the hands of a law abiding citizen is an advantage to law enforcement.

I want a well functioning background check system that makes sure that law abiding citizens are the only ones being allowed to have guns.

As long as there is a black market and burglaries Criminals will be able to get guns. In fact if a 10 year old kid in Baghdad can turn a teddy bear into a bomb. I feel that criminals not knowing who's got a gun and who dosn't works to our advantage.

You made a statement once about a certain thread here spinning it’s wheels. I didn’t say anything at the time. But, here I will.

I do agree with her points. But! She used a word which throws a wrench into the works that messes up the foundation. And that’s the word should. That puts her thoughts of law, and not of grace. I’m speaking now of NT grace which actually is the free gift of righteousness by the freedom that we receive by the new birth. The power of Holy Spirit.

She did mention abiding, and spending that time in the presence of God and her picture of the apple tree and the apples being produced by self effort was great. It is the fruit of Holy Spirit and not of self effort. So the answer is be filled.

But, the question? Comes of judging another does it not? Are we to do that? So what does this really mean will we know by fruit?

Maybe it’s the way we discern a “spirit” that has taken hold? In our own soul or that of another? A problem has developed somewhere so rather than judging one as false, it becomes a matter of prayer? Or even to avoid certain relationships until God has worked on one?

A Tree Is Known by Its Fruit


Mat 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.


Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.


Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

This would be the totality of knowing one. But, another scripture states we know one another by the Spirit. I can feel a presence on one just coming up to them.

It’s a good word she gave as far as the point. Just that little demon taint yet and this is why I say the not by works thread is the most important one here.

Another point I wanted to make but forgot. Should brings condemnation. Will is correct.

We will spend time with the Lord for our inner man who is renewed in Him will get homesick. We long to be with the Lord do we not?

Could that be because the Bible isn't a science book and because I believe all Christians must be born again to qualify as Christians and go to heaven? Or that Genesis 2 was the creation of modern man in the Mesopotamian region? Not Gen 1.
